Acapulco Alvarez International Airport ACA is one of Mexico's much sought-after destination for millions of sun-seekers yearly from the United States and Canada. Situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Tres Palos Lagoon, it is the largest Airport in Mexico's southern Pacific region. ACA Airport is undergoing continuous improvements and renovations and offers modern facilities.
ACA Airport is located 26 km from downtown Acapulco, in the State of Guerrero, Mexico. 

With two runways and annually about 600,000 passengers, Acapulco Airport is served by a number of major commercial airlines, as well as by seasonal charters. Its domestic airlines serve the larger cities of Mexico.

The passenger terminal at Acapulco Alvarez Airport offers shops and duty-free stores, food & drink establishments, a VIP lounge, a business center, ATMs, currency exchange, baggage wrapping, rental car counters, ground transportation operators, as well as an immigration and customs service. Club Regina Villavera, Mayan Resort International and Mayan Resort National have service desks on the lower level of the terminal. The upper level has access to gates 1 through 6. 
NOTE*:  Upon official opening of the new terminal in first or second quarter 2015, the 'old' terminal is being demolished.

Parking options at Acapulco Airport include short- and long-term parking near the passenger terminal. Parking fees must be paid in Mexican pesos, at the automated payment machine in the parking lot exit. Handicapped parking is available.

From Acapulco Alvarez Airport:  Options include rental cars, taxis,hotel shuttles, or one of the many shuttle buses departing frequently to the City. Air taxi service to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is provided by Blue Coast Aviation.

Current & future Airport developments:   A new Terminal* is being built next to the current one (replacing it upon completion)  The 14,000 sq.meter 2-level terminal - with separate flows of arriving/departing passengers - is  to accommodate up to one million passengers annually - able to expand to 2M.  Completion is scheduled for Spring 2014.
