I have connecting KLM flight from Delhi to Toronto in Amsterdam and the layover time 1 hours 15 min. Is the time is enough time to change the flight.

That should be enough time. You just need to go through security and to your departure gate.

  • 50 minutes layover - Is that enough
    Sep 14, 2015
I will travel from SEA to AMS by Delta 144. Then I need to board KLM 871 for India. Layover is 50 minutes. Is that enough? I mean, deplaning from one flight, then going through security, then boarding another flight. How is all that possible in 50 minutes? Has anybody flown this combination? Please share the experience.

You won't have to go through security. All you have to do is walk from one gate to the other. You have enough time if your Delta flight is on-time.

Have 2 hour layover - will this be long enough?checked bags should go straight through to florence? do I only go through passport control and then back through ticket/security line?

You will only have to go through passport control. That should be plenty of time.

  • Layover in Amsterdam

Hello! I'm flying from US to Ukraine with a 5 hours layover in Amsterdam? Will I have time to walk around Amsterdam for a few hours? If yes, when should I get back to have enough time to catch flight to Ukraine? Any recommendations? Thank you!

No, that probably isn't enough time. There's lots of things to do in the Amsterdam airport, by airport standards.

  • FLR to AMS to GLA
    Feb 27, 2015
We are flying From Florence, IT to Amsterdam on June 8th, with a connecting flight to Glasgow Scotland. We have fifty minutes to spare after landing in Amsterdam, no luggage to collect. One person has a Canadian Passport and four have British Passports. Will the 50 minutes be enough time and will we have to go through any kind of security control or immigration control. Would it be better to contact the airline and change the flight to Glasgow. I'm worried as none of us is a spring chicken and running to catch out flight is not an option. Thanks for any advise!

You will have to go through Schengen exit passport control. This should be barely enough time.

Thank you! I think this won't work for us, I will have to try to change our flight time. Don't really understand why you have to go through any passport thing when you are not even leaving the airport or secured area, but it is what it is!!

  • 50 minute layover.

Hello, I am considering purchasing a ticket from Venice to Seattle on Delta. The Venice to AMS flight is operated by KLM. THE AMS to Seattle is operated by DELTA. I am purchasing the tickets together and carrying on luggage only. Is 50 minutes enough time to make this connection?

Yes, that should be enough time

  • Confused on baggage

I am flying with klm from entebbe to AMS and finally Miami. I have a 11 hr layover so I plan on going and seeing the city. Will I have to do anything with my checked luggage, or will it go straight to Miami and I dont have to fool with it? Thanks

It should go straight to Miami. However, note that to visit the city in Amsterdam you may need a Schengen Visa, depending on your citizenship.

  • Overnight Layover from Oslo, Norway to Jakarta, Indonesia
    Jan 11, 2015
hi, I'm an Indonesian and I have a 12 days visa (Schengen to Oslo) valid from February 5th - February 16th. I will depart from Oslo at February 16th at 7 PM via Amsterdam. if I am to have an overnight layover in Schiphol for 23.50 hours from February 16th - February 17th (from 8.55 PM to 8.45 PM), do I need a visa on arrival? do I have to stay in airport or can I go sightseeing to the city? kindly to advise, thank you

I suggest you leave a day earlier, your visa will be expired by the time you leave the Schengen Area and you will have overstayed your visa.

  • OVER NIGHT layover in Amsterdam
    Jan 17, 2015
We will be flying into Schiphol in August. Our plan is to do a small trip downtown to sightsee and then stay overnight at a hotel near the airport. Our flight out in the morning is 1100 am. We are Canadians. Do we need any special documents to stay overnight in Amsterdam before continuing on to Edinburgh? All our flights are with KLM and paid for in one transaction.

No, you do not need any documents. Canadians do not require a visa to enter the Schengen Area. Just make sure your bags are tagged to AMS and not EDI at your origin if you want to access them in Amsterdam.

I was looking for close-to-the-airport lodging at Schipol Amsterdam and my friend and I stayed at Citizen M Hotel. It was really fun. Mod art and interesting features with comfy beds made the hotel stay a fun adventure in itself. Reasonable pricing w/out cookie cutter amenities made for a good time at a hotel within walking distance of the airport.

  • Indonesia to Amsterdam to Barcelona
    Dec 31, 2015
Hello, I will taking a flight from Indonesia to Amsterdam and arrived at 09.20. Then, I will fly to Barcelona at 14.00 (different airlines). Do I need to go through custom twice? (First-when arrived in schipol, Second-when leaving schipol to barcelona). Will 4 hours enough for me? Many thanks!

No, you will go through Schengen Passport control once, when entering the Schengen pier of the terminal in Amsterdam. 4 hours is plenty of time.

  • TRF to AMS to BCN transfer time
    Nov 16, 2014
I'm travelling from Sandefjord to Barcelona. My KLM flight from Sandefjord arrives at 8:15 AM in Amsterdam and my connecting flight to Barcelona is with Vueling departing at 10:05. I also have a checked in luggage. Is this enough time or will I miss my flight to Barcelona?

If you purchased both flights on one ticket your bag will automatically be transferred - if not, you would need to claim your bag & re-check it in with Vueling (contact KLM if they will transfer - as the two airlines do not belong to the same Alliance). Presuming that Norway is a Schengen country, you may proceed to your connecting gate. In both cases your transfer time should suffice.

  • From Bucharest to Seattle & From Amsterdam to London
    Nov 7, 2014
Hello, My mother is taking a flight from Bucharest to Seattle with a layover in Schiphol of several hours. I will have at the same time a flight from Amsterdam Schiphol to London. I see that there are two areas - Schengen and non-Schengen. Does that mean that we will be able to meet in the airport or are there any passport control in between? Thank you so much!

  • Connecting flight at AMS
    Oct 19, 2014
Hi, I am going to be catching a connecting flight to Cologne this December, from Amsterdam Schipol. I have a layover time of 1 hour exactly, flying with KLM. Last time I flew with KLM I had a layover of 55 mins and, whilst I caught my flight, my luggage didn't. I am worried that this will happen again. Was this just bad luck or is 1 hour likely to lead to delayed baggage? I am concerned that Christmas is a busy time of year and wouldn't want to ruin my trip away. Thanks

If worried about your baggage arriving safely, maybe you would consider one of the pre-shipping services (FedEx, etc.) - saving you anxiety & cutting time spent at the customs line.
