Hello, I have my tickets booked with KLM/DELTA, I leave November 20th from Glasgow to Amsterdam, then Amsterdam to Atlanta. My layover before Atlanta is 50mins. Will that be enough time, and because it's operating under KLM and Delta flights, does that mean I won't need to re-check my check-in luggage?

Yes, all you have to do in Amsterdam is go through US security questions and to your departure gate. You have enough time if everything goes smoothly.

I am flying from Moscow to Ams with Aerfloat arriving at 4.10PM (AMS time) and I have different flight to madrid at 6.40PM AirEuropa. In between I have to check-out and check-in my luggage. Could you please let me know is this transist time is sufficient?

That will be difficult but should be just enough time.

Are 50 minutes enough time for a connection flight ( coming from Stuttgart, going to Newark ) ?

Yes, that should be just enough time if both flights are on the same reservation.

    Thank you

I arrive SLC-AMS at 8:40a and next flight departs at 4:30p for Berlin (8 hour Layover). Is there time to take the train into the City to sight see and then get back to the airport in time to catch my 4:30p flight? Thanks.

    Yes, that is enough time.

  • FLR=>AMS 8 hours =>ATL

I booked with Delta a flight ATL => FLR. The return is KLM codeshare through AMS arriving 9am on a Saturday, departing 5pm for ATL that same day. I am wanting to catch taxi or train to City Central and spend several hours. I plan on carryon only but there is a possibility (depending on shopping) that I may check my luggage. Even if only carryon, I will use the left luggage at AMS. My questions: will KLM/Delta check my baggage through to ATL? and will I have to go back through security at AMS? I want to know exactly how much time I have in Amsterdam. Any other recs/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, KLM should check your bags through to ATL if the connection is during the day. If you leave the airport you will have to go through security in AMS, but otherwise you wouldn't (although you would have to go through US Security questions).

Given the situation I described how much time should I allow to go through security? I will check my bags through to ATL on the way back so I'll only have my purse. Thank you for your response! Very helpful.

Get to the airport at least 2 hours before your flight to Atlanta.

  • Airport transit visa fro Nigerians with implied status in Canada

Hi, I am flying from Toronto-schiphol-lagos, i am a Nigerian with "implied status" in Canada and still waiting on a decision to be made on an extension of my visa. Do i need an airport transit visa through schiphol? I have been getting conflicting information saying i do and the latest from consular officer Mrs mickey mclaughlin in Toronto say i do not need one if i have proof of my visa application, express entry profile application and receipts of payments which i have. would that work? Can i still board a flight in Toronto?

Yes, since you won't have a formal extension of your Visa at that time you will need a Schengen Airport Transit Visa issued by the Netherlands. With no Schengen Visa or valid Canadian Visa the airline is not required to let you board.

We are US citizens taking a trip on KLM from USA to Krakow. We have a 10h layover in AMS and want to leave the airport. We'll have our dog with us (in-cabin) and will be carrying the needed documentation (health certificate, EU/Poland travel documents). We plan on clearing immigration in AMS and heading into the city for a few hours. My question is will it be simple to clear security again with our pet or should we expect any complications? Thanks!

Flying into AMS from Houston,USA in March on United. Plan is to book a Ryanair or Air Lingus flight to Dublin. Is 2 hours enough time to make the connection?

If you have checked bags, no that is not enough time. Without checked bags it's doable, but difficult.

We wouldn't have any checked luggage. Would it be more doable with 2 1/2 hours? Is it that the gates are far apart of a lot of security to go through?

I have a flight leaving from Amsterdam at 12:10 noon. I will be flying in from India and arriving at 8:10 AM. They are two different tickets on different airlines, and I have checked-in baggage for both flights. Will this be enough time to get to the next flight?

What airlines? Where are you flying from Amsterdam to?

KLM into Amsterdam, and KLM cityhopper out of Amsterdam. however, these are NOT connecting flights and are on two completely different tickets

Call KLM and try to have them joined onto the same reservation. They're both considered KLM (not separate airlines). You have plenty of time.
