My daughter is flying to Luxembourg through Amsterdam. She has a 1:45 transfer time in Amsterdam for her flight to Luxembourg and a 1:05 for her return. I understand for KLM CityHopper flights (from Amsterdam to/from Luxembourg) she will need to take a bus from the terminal to the plane. Will she have enough time to make her transfers?
My understanding is the passport check takes place at AMS. How much time would that take. First time to Europe and any helpful advice appreciated. We don't frequently travel and trying to avoid Global Entry or Pre
Global Entry and PreCheck don't do anything for you in Europe. You'll want at least an hour for your transfer in Amsterdam. Preferably a bit more.
Thanks ZAP!
I am flying Sept 30 from NCE, France to MPLS connecting through AMS. The NCE flight lands at 2:20, the MPLS flight departs 3:10. Both flights are Delta. I have a US passport. Do I have enough time to make the departing flight?
That is just enough time if the first flight is on-time. Note that the first flight will be operated by Air France or KLM, not Delta.
We have a MSP-AMS-DEL reservation on Delta with 1 hr 55 mins layover time in AMS. Is that enough time to catch to transfer from one terminal/gate to another terminal/gate?
Yes, that is enough time. AMS only has one terminal. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Thanks. Turns out that even though booking is thru Delta, the flight from AMS to DEL is KLM. Is that still the same terminal for arrival and departure gate?
I am arriving to AMS from U.S. at 7:15 AM on a United flight, transferring on a separate ticket to a KLM flight flying AMS-Madrid at 9:30AM. I am planning on not checking any bags since there won't be time for me to collect luggage. Do you think there will be time to make this connection including the passport customs checkpoint? Will I need to go through security again anyways?
Yes, that should be enough time. If you are able to check in online for your KLM flight then all you have to do in Amsterdam is go through Schengen Entry passport control and to your departure gate.
I am arriving in Amsterdam and will fly from there to Tanzania. Will 1 hour 55 minutes be enough time to make the connecting flight? It will all be booked on the same ticket.
I failed to say I am arriving in Amsterdam from the US.
Yes, all you have to do in Amsterdam is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Thank you; that helps a lot.

My daughter is flying Delta from SLC to AMS and then connecting to a Delta flight, operated by KLM, onto Copenhagen.
Will her bags be checked all the way through to CPH and when she gets to AMS does she go through passport control or just make her connection?
Her bags will go through to Copenhagen. All you have to do is go through Schengen Entry passport control and to your departure gate.
How much time will I need between flights if I arrive from USA in AMS at 8:50 am (in August) and then board another flight to Zagreb? We (2 of us) will have checked bags.
I would want 3 hours.
We are flying on Delta from Athens to Salt Lake City with a 1 hour 35 minute layover in AMS. Will this be enough time and what must we do? Thank you.
You will have to go through Schengen Exit Passport Control, US Security questions, and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
When I arrive at AMS from CDG, I have 1 hour and 10 minute layover before my next flight to LAX. All on Air France. Is this enough time to catch my flight?
Note that your second flight will be operated by KLM. You have enough time. You will go through Schengen Exit passport control, US Security questions, and to your departure gate.
Thank you. So with KLM, I will arrive from CDG in Concourse F and depart to LAX from Concourse F?
No, they will be in different concourses.
