D WilsonMay 21, 201320Travelling from EDI to Nice on KLM with handluggage only with a 40 minute connection. Will I have to go through immigration on the outward journey, but not on the way back? From memory KLM from Edinburgh arrives at Concourse A and departures to Nice are from C? Is 40 minutes enough and are there 'fast-tracks' through immigration if required. Any assistance will be appreciatedDWposted on Tue, May 21If UK is one of the Schengen countries, you need not go through passport control. Schiphol has no Concourse A. Gate-to-gate transfers: B & C gates are at the very right end of the bow-shaped terminal; north of it are the C gates arranged in a Y-shape; around the bend are the E gates, followed in the center by the F gates; right thereafter is entry to the G, H & M gates (G gates are to the right, H & M gates to the left). Walking time from the entry of B or C gates all the way over to the entry of G, H or M gates would take about 15 mins. Walking to the end of B gates takes 15 mins; for the C gates 7 mins; for the D gates 8 mins; for the E gates 1 min; for the F gates in the Center 2 mins; for the G gates 5 mins; and for the H & M gates 7 mins.tumay13posted on Tue, May 21

is 50 min connection time enoughMay 20, 201310I am flying from MSP to AMS (Delta600) and need to connect flight to DEL (India) (Delta9574). Due to flight delay I only have 50 min layover, is it enough time?ssrposted on Sun, May 19On arrival at AMS you need to go through non-Schengen passport control; poceed to the baggage belts in the baggage hall (ground level), claim bags & go through Customs & re-check-in bags where indicated. Then proceed to your connecting gate. 50 minutes is extremely tight, but doable if you familiarize yourself with AMS layout & transfer. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ams then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.momay13posted on Mon, May 20

Is1 hr transfer time enough at AmsterdamApr 30, 201321I will be taking a flight from Rome to Calgary this july. Will need to take a connecting flight at AMS. Book flights with KLM. Rome to AMS flight is operated by Altalia. Do I have to pick up luggageat transfer? Do the luggage directly go to the final destination?uneasyposted on Mon, Apr 29You won't have to do anything with your baggage in Amsterdam.ZAPposted on Mon, Apr 291 person likes this post [ Like ]On arrival at AMS you need to go through non-Schengen passport control, then proceed to the baggage belts in the baggage hall (ground level), claim bags & go through Customs for security check. connection timeApr 16, 201310I am arriving from Florence en route to Los Angeles through AMS. The flight I'd like to take has only 50 minute connection time between landing and take-off on the flight to LA. Is that enough to pass through passport control? I will not have checked any luggage -- it is all carry-on.rjnposted on Tue, Apr 16

55 minute transfer intra-allianceApr 17, 201320Hello. I am travelling in September from London to IAD and have planned for a 55 minute transfer intra-alliance (AF-UA). Would this be possible? The itinerary planned is as follows: AF5181 arriving in AMS @ 1005 UA947 departing AMS @ 1100moeyhunterposted on Mon, Apr 15At AMS, all passengers need to go through Passport Control - follow the signs for 'Baggage Hall' & 'Arrivals Hall'; then go through passport control and poceed to the baggage belts in the baggage hall (ground level). 55 minutes is extremely tight. New Rules for Connecting Flights?Apr 5, 201320I have a flight in July from Seattle to AMS on Delta that arrives at 8:30 am and then I want to book a connecting flight on Alitalia (KLM codeshare) to Florence (our actual destination) that leaves at 9:55 am, so only an 1 hr 25 min. to connect. Delta said initially that they could book our luggage through and we wouldn't have to clear customs. Then, they checked and said the law just changed so now we have to get our luggage and clear customs before catching our flight to Florence. (1) Is this true (2) if so, is 1 hr, 25 minutes enough? - We are sitting in the 1st row in 1st class and have priority on our luggage; (3) if we were to miss the connection bc we didn't have enough time, what are our options - will they rebook us? It's 2 separate tickets bc our Delta flight is one is using miles and I have to purchase the second one. There are other options w KLM or AF, but they all require an additional connection (mostly through Paris), so not ideal. We are traveling with a baby and coming off an overnight flight, so we would like to the direct flight. Any assistance would be appreciated bc I have never been to AMS airport. I am also not sure of gate distance, etc.CKposted on Thu, Apr 4Schiphol Airport has one passenger terminal with Piers (Concourses) B through H & M. On arrival at AMS, follow signs to Baggage Hall on ground level, claim bags, go through customs, enter arrivals hall with your bags in tow, proceed to the departures level one level up, check in your bags with Alitalia/KLM, get your boarding pass and proceed to your gate. Your time should be enough as you will be the first ones exiting the arriving plane. I strongly suggest that you open www.ifly.com/ams then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text and pay attention to Flight transfer & transfer times.frapr13posted on Fri, Apr 5

Connection InfoApr 1, 201321Our Delta flight lands in Amsterdam at 6:25 a.m.and and connects with a KLM flight at 7:20 a.m. Is that enough time to make it to the KLM gate? Also, must we go through customs first?anaped44posted on Mon, Apr 1The procedure differs depending on where your KLM flight is to (Schengen or non-schengen) However, KLM and AMS are used to handling tight connections like this and many security lines feature "close connection" lines which you can use if your flight is on the list.ZAPposted on Mon, Apr 11 person likes this post [ Like ]

connecting flightsMar 28, 201310I am flying into schiphol airport on 17/05/2013 from aberdeen, with a connecting flight to hannover. Once through customs do I have to collect baggage or is it automatically put on connecting flight. Also does anyone know what gate I would need to go to or how you connect to next flight as not much time between flights.cazza36posted on Thu, Mar 28In general, same airline for both flights or fights by more than one airline, but on a single ticket, will automatically transfer. However, some airlines don't transfer to a particular other airline. Your ticket and the overhead screens on arrival indicate your flight & gate number, i.e. AF45 (code for Air France, gate 45). I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ams then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.thmar13posted on Thu, Mar 28

LayoverMar 25, 201310Flying into AMS (Amsterdam) from BHX (Bimingham) then onto MSP (Minneapolis) with a 3hr 25m layover in Amsterdam. Am I allowed to leave the airport to meet a friend who lives just outside Amsterdam or do ! have to stay inside the airport?RdBposted on Sun, Mar 24Your time between getting to your friend and back to your connecting gate is very short, maybe your friend could meet you in the Arrivals Hall of your terminal. Note that all passengers need to go through Passport Control - follow the signs for 'Baggage Hall' & 'Arrivals Hall'--if applicable; then go through passport control and poceed to the baggage belts in the baggage hall (ground level). Claim your bags & go through Customs for security check. If you have nothing to declare proceed to the arrivals hall through the green passageway. In the Arrivals Hall several catering establishments , as well as the main exit and the train station.momar13posted on Mon, Mar 25

KLM/Delta to Easyjet connection time?Feb 27, 201311In a few days I will be flying from Boston on Delta/KLM and arriving at Schiphol at 7:40 a.m. I have a flight to London Southend on Easyjet which leaves at 9:55 a.m. However, there is no baggage agreement between Delta and Easyjet. Is this enough time for me to go through customs, get my bag, and go to the other side of the airport and check in at the Easyjet desk?Mikeposted on Tue, Feb 261 person likes this post [ Like ]Your transfer time at AMS should suffice: On Arrival at AMS all passengers need to go through Passport Control (follow the signs for 'Baggage Hall' on ground level); go through passport control and poceed to the baggage belts.
