Hello IFly experts I fly from Geneva to AMS by KLM and take a flight at AMS to Minneapolis. Ticket issued by Air France website GVA- AMS-MSP all in one itinerary / ticket. Would be grateful if someone tell me whether 2 hours of connection time is enough to catch a flight at AMS? Thank you very much! Best regards Emphilan

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • GVA-AMS-MSP : 1h35 or 2h05 or 4h15 layover,pls suggest

Dear All / IFly Experts / AMS Experts I would like to reserve a flight from Geneva to Minneapolis. I found some possibilities as follows: 1. GVA to AMS KLM Connecting time 1h35 AMS to MSP Delta 2. Same as above but with 2h05 minutes connection time 3. Same as above but with 4h 15 minutes connection time. 4. GVA- Paris CDG (Air France) Connection time in Paris CDG 2h05 minutes Paris CDG - MSP by Delta 5. Same as above but with a 4h05 connection time at Paris 6. Same as above but with a 1h35 minutes connection time at Paris I do not have any idea whether these shorter connection times like 1h35 minutes and 2h05 minutes are feasible or stressful. It would be really helpful if you suggest me is it any good if I book with 2h05 connection times at either Paris (Air France) or AMS (KLM)

any of those should work. required connection times at AMS are shorter than CDG because it is a shorter airport and was built from the ground up for connections. I would suggest going through AMS.

  • (KLM): LAX to AMS to BCN, will we make it?

Booked online with KLM, LAX to Barcelona with a 65 minute transfer in AMS. Called KLM and they said no problem making it in time as we'll clear Customs in Barcelona. Is this true? If not should we re-book? This will be from 9-10:05 am Sunday.

You will clear CUSTOMS in Barcelona, but you will go through Schengen Passport Control in Amsterdam. However, you should have plenty of time as Amsterdam is built to handle tight connections like this.

Thanks for the quick reply. From the flight history it looks like it's consistently on schedule so we'll hope for the best.

  • Copenhagen - AMS - Seattle

Hello Me and my wife will leave CPH at 11.50 in a KLM 737-800. In Schiphol we have 1.15 to make it to a Delta 767-400 that will take us to Seattle. We're flying Business which will save us time getting off the plane early. What kind of security checks do we have and how long of a walk between the flights? Thanks

All you have to do is go through Schengen exit passport control and walk to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

  • US Airways-EasyJet w/45 min.

We only have 45 min. to get from our US Airways flight to our Easy Jet flight to Stansted. We will only have backpacks(no checked luggage). Will we have to exit through customs and then go through security again? Originally had 1.5 hours, but both flights changed their times. Thanks!

    Where are you connecting?

Minneapolis to AMS and then connecting to Easy Jet at AMS to go to Stansted.

Without checked bags if you check in for your easyJet flight online there's a chance. Although it's verging on impossible.

I am traveling with 2 seniors and will have a 95 minute layover in Amsterdam on the way to Istanbul. Is that enough time, will we need to recheck our bags? Flight will be Delta to AMS and KLM to Istanbul.

All you will have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate and go through security. You should have plenty of time.

  • US to AMS then on to Stansted, UK

Hi, I want to go from the US to Stansted in England, but since there's no direct flight anymore after 9/11, I need to go to AMS then buy a separate ticket to Stansted. Will I need to go through customs if I'm not leaving the airport except on another plane, and if so, how much time should I allow? thanks!

If you check a bag you will have to go through passport control to claim your baggage and re-check it in Amsterdam. If you only bring a carryon and check-in online for your flight to Stansted then you can just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • ATL to AMS to BRU (can I skip BRU and stay in AMS)?
    Apr 28, 2015

Looking to book a flight from ATL to AMS. Airfare is $400 cheaper if I book a flight to BRU that connects in AMS (ATL to AMS to BRU). Is it OK for me to just skip my connecting flight and stay in AMS? Do I collect my bags in AMS or would they be automatically routed to the next plane? Will passport control give me any hassle?

Your bags will be checked through to BRU. You will have to take the flight to BRU unless you don't particularly care about your baggage.

50 min enough time? VCE - AMS - SEA. Initial flight KLM, then Delta. Exit passport control and security? Will construction be done by July 24, 2015?

    That should be enough time.

Hello, I will be flying back to the USA from Oslo and I have a hour and 35 minute layover to make my connecting flight, all with Delta (KLM). Is this enough time? Do I have to go through passport control? Thank you

Yes, that is plenty of time. You will go through schengen exit passport control, which is very brief.

First leg of my journey is on KLM and then when i get to amsterdam and change planes i have 1hr 40 mins to do so, do i need to collect my luggage or will it go straight to the next plane? and where would i need to collect my luggage next detroit? any help appreciated as im doing this trip alone

In Detroit you will arrive in the McNamara Terminal and be funneled directly to US Immigration, after that you will claim your bags and go through US Customs, then you will re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then follow signs for Departures, go through security, and follow signs to your departure gate to Cleveland.

ok thank you, i forgot to put when i change planes in amsterdam i will be going from KLM to DELTA do you know if i have to pick my luggage up or will they transfer it for me?

They will transfer it for you in Amsterdam.

  • KLM Frankfurt to EasyJet Venice

We are trying to get from Frankfurt (Heidelberg) to Venice. How much time would we need to make a connection from a KLM flight from Frankfurt to an EasyJet flight to Venice. Do we have to collect our luggage? How many check points?

Yes, you will have to claim your baggage from KLM then re-check it with EasyJet. You would need at least 90 minutes, preferably 2 hours for your transfer.

  • Connection time BEG-ATL via AMS
    Apr 13, 2015

I am considering travel route from BEG to ATL via AMS, with 1 hour 45 minutes for connection, however Air Serbia is usually late 30-40 minutes. So, is one hour enough for that connection at AMS?

Assuming tickets were purchased together, that should still be enough time, even if they're 45 minutes late.
