We are flying from london on 29th january arriving onKLM flight at 0905 and transferring to flight for Quito at 1005 What gate do we arrive,what gate do we depart, andwill we have time. we hope to check baggage through to Quito in London.

While AMS does not list airlines by location, I strongly I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ams - then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text. Your ticket should indicate which gates you arrive at & depart from. It is most important that you find out if Emirates will transfer bags to KLM - if not, you would have to take your bags on arrival to the KLM check-in desk first. One hour under normal circumstances should suffice.

There is no need to worry. It is impossible to miss baggage reclaim and the trains, not least since there are more English signs than Dutch signs.

You will have to go through passport control, & may have to pick up bags & go through customs clearance. Note that Arrivals 1 & 2 areas lead up to Departures 1 & 2; and Arrivals 3 & 4 lead up to Departure 3. Departures 1 uses the B & D gates; Departures 2 uses the E gates; Departure 3 uses F, G, H & M gates. (Arrivals 1 & 2 and Arrivals 3 & 4 are on opposite sides of the center.) Walking time from the entry of B or C gates all the way over to the entry of G, H or M gates would take about 15 mins. The overhead screens (and your boarding pass) will indicate connecting gate. At MSP, Delta uses Terminal 1's Concourses A - G with corresponding gate number. You should arrive at the Interantinal Concourge G (gates 1-22).

On arrival at AMS, you will have to follow signs for 'Baggage Hall' & 'Arrivals Hall'--if applicable. Go through passport control and poceed to the baggage belts in the baggage hall (ground level). Claim your bags & pass with them through Customs for security check. If you have nothing to declare proceed to the arrivals hall through the green passageway. Then note that : Arrivals 1 & 2 areas lead up to Departures 1 & 2; and Arrivals 3 & 4 lead up to Departure 3. Departures 1 uses the B & D gates; Departures 2 uses the E gates; Departure 3 uses F, G, H & M gates. At transfer kiosks you can check connecting flight information or book a new fight. Transfer desks T2 & T3 are located in Lounge 1; desks T4 & T5 at D gate area; desk T6 at E gate area & desk T9 at G gate area.

EasyJet most likely arrives departs/ from either gates H or M; Arrivals area 3 leads to departures area 3, which include connecting H & M gates.

One hour layover for domestic flights at AMS Airport should suffice. NOTE: Walking from the entry of B or C gates all the way over to the entry of G, H or M gates would take about 15 mins. Walking to the end of B gates takes 15 mins; for the C gates 7 mins; for the D gates 8 mins; for the E gates 1 min; for the F gates in the Center 2 mins; for the G gates 5 mins; and for the H & M gates 7 mins.

My search for your BE101 flight from Birminham was unsuccessful (BE stands for Mandarin Airlines) - howeve this is what you need to know at AMS Airport: (a) Arrivals 1 & 2 areas lead up to Departures 1 & 2; and Arrivals 3 & 4 lead up to Departure 3. Departures 1 uses the B & D gates; Departures 2 uses the E gates; Departure 3 uses F, G, H & M gates. As to Corendon connecting flight, I was also unsuccessful in finding a flight - but I did find the airline contact: Corendon Dutch Airlines (CND) - tel. 0031 (0)23-5268979; e-mail info@corendon.nl ; site: www.corendon.nl. It uses Checkin desk Departure 3; Ticket desk, Departure 3; Baggage handler Servisair 0031 (0)20-7952700. The problem with your 40-minute window will be whether your BE101 flight will transfer your bags to your Corendon carrier - if not, you would need, on arrival at AMS, pick up your bag and re-check it in with Corendon at their desk. To give you an idea of how long you would take to transfer from gate areas B-C, D, E, F, G, H or M - walking entire walkway would take 15 mins. As both Delta & KLM are members of the Sky Team, I presume Delta will transfer your bags to your KLM flight; however, make sure by contacting Delta. If not, you would need, on arrival at AMS, claim your bags & check them in on level 2 (the Departure level) and get your boarding pass.
