  • Is an hour and 35 minute layover enough, coming from Oslo back to USA
    Apr 23, 2015

Hello, I will be flying back to the USA from Oslo and I have a hour and 35 minute layover to make my connecting flight, all with Delta (KLM). Is this enough time? Do I have to go through passport control? Thank you

Yes, that is plenty of time. You will go through schengen exit passport control, which is very brief.

Traveling with 5 year old and two seniors (>65 years). Is a 1 hour 45 minute connection enough time? Traveling KLM.

That should be enough time. You just have to go through schengen passport control and to your departure gate.

First leg of my journey is on KLM and then when i get to amsterdam and change planes i have 1hr 40 mins to do so, do i need to collect my luggage or will it go straight to the next plane? and where would i need to collect my luggage next detroit? any help appreciated as im doing this trip alone

In Detroit you will arrive in the McNamara Terminal and be funneled directly to US Immigration, after that you will claim your bags and go through US Customs, then you will re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then follow signs for Departures, go through security, and follow signs to your departure gate to Cleveland.

ok thank you, i forgot to put when i change planes in amsterdam i will be going from KLM to DELTA do you know if i have to pick my luggage up or will they transfer it for me?

They will transfer it for you in Amsterdam.

We are trying to get from Frankfurt (Heidelberg) to Venice. How much time would we need to make a connection from a KLM flight from Frankfurt to an EasyJet flight to Venice. Do we have to collect our luggage? How many check points?

Yes, you will have to claim your baggage from KLM then re-check it with EasyJet. You would need at least 90 minutes, preferably 2 hours for your transfer.

I have around 2:35 hours coming from Bilbao, to pick up luggage and drop off the luggage at Malasya Airlines. Is that enough time? How long does it take to get the luggage and how long to transfer from Vueling terminal to Malasya terminal?

  • Connection time BEG-ATL via AMS
    Apr 13, 2015

I am considering travel route from BEG to ATL via AMS, with 1 hour 45 minutes for connection, however Air Serbia is usually late 30-40 minutes. So, is one hour enough for that connection at AMS?

Assuming tickets were purchased together, that should still be enough time, even if they're 45 minutes late.

Hello, I am traveling from BCN to SFO with a layover in AMS. Both flights are on KLM. My layover in AMS is 65 mins. Will this be enough time to make my connection? What is the process? Do I have to go through security again? Thank you.

All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

  • SLC - DFW - AMS - CPT

Hi! I'm a US citizen flying from SLC to DFW to AMS then on to CPT. I've got a 2 hour layover, which I think should be enough time to get through passport control? Would that happen in AMS or in our final destination of CPT? Thank you!!!

You will only have to go through passport control in Cape Town. Since you are not entering the Schengen Area you do not have to go through passport control in Amsterdam.

It should be possible. Both ways you will have to go through Schengen passport control.

  • KLM to Air France connection

I will be arriving from PDX at 8:45 am and connect with Air France at 9:40 am for the flight to Marseille, Fr. Any idea on KLM on time record from US and will 55 minutes be enough for the connection?

55 minutes should be enough AMS is built to handle tight connections. Note that your flight from PDX to AMS will be operated by Delta, not KLM. You will go through Schengen Passport Control in Amsterdam.

  • MSP to AMS to OSL

Hi, We're flying from MSP to AMS and on to Oslo economy this summer, with only 1 hr 5 minutes connect time (10;45am to 11:50, a Tuesday morning.) I think the flight to Oslo is via KLM Cityhopper. We're concerned about this, believe we will need to go through passport control, right? Any fast track lines or other help there, do not want to miss our connection. Thanks!

Yes, you will have to go through Schengen passport control, but that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. AMS handles lots of tight connections.

I will travel by kl 622 from ATL to AMS and by KL 871 from AMS to Delhi on 9 th April and the lay over time is only 55 minutes. Kindly tell me (1) Whether 55 minutes of lay over time is sufficient ? (2) what is the arrival Gate No for KL 622 and departure Gate No for KL 871 ?

Yes that should be enough time. You just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Exact gates won't be known until day of travel.

  • 1 hour connection time BCN to AMS to SEA

I read that effective June 1, 2015 AMS will no longer have security checks at the gates. I am a U.S. citizen traveling post-cruise on 10/2015 on KLM from BCN to AMS, connecting on Delta to SEA. Will my baggage be checked through? I am confused about Schengen/non-Schengen/International procedures. Will one hour be sufficient to go through new security check points in time to make Delta flight to U.S.?

Yes, that should be enough time. Your baggage will be checked through. You will go through Schengen exit passport control (a very quick process).

I have MY doubts. I hope that anybody take care to waiting for us. Last year I lost the connection. Let's cross fingers this year. Albert Blanch

Haven't flown int'l. Leaving ATL, layover at AMS, then on to Florence, Italy. I believe bags go thru to Florence, but what do I do when I get to AMS, go through passport control then to gate? Do I get my boarding pass for AMS to Florence when I check into ATL?

Yes, you have the procedure in Amsterdam correct. You will be issued both boarding passes in Atlanta.

Flight lands in AMS from Cardiff and we have 55mins stopover to get to the gate for the flight to Tel Aviv - Is this enough?

Yes, that should be enough time. Since you will not be entering the Schengen Area you will not have to go through passport control, just security at your departure gate.
