Is 2 hrs sufficient for the following transfer: coming into AMS from IST, departing from AMS to MSP? It's been awhile since I've passed through AMS.

Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Customs and Layover Time?

I'm traveling from Detroit to Cape Town, South, Africa with 2 hour layover time at KML. I have three questions...1) Since my ultimate destination is in Africa, will I need to go through immigration AND customs? 2) If the answer is yes to the question above, will I have time to do all that, retrieve luggage and walk from terminal to terminal ?

All you have to do in Amsterdam is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Amsterdam only has one terminal.

Will 1 Hr and 20 Min be enough time to connect from flight arriving from on KLM with a connection onward to Delhi, India on Jet Airlines? Will I have to go through security or immigration at AMS between flights?

If both flights are on the same reservation then you just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Amsterdam.

Thanks for the quick response. These will be on the same reservation as code shares booked through delta. Flights nbrs DL136 from ATL to AMS and then DL7534 from AMS to DEL. so sounds like no security just go from gate to gate.

Flying KL1058 City Hopper to Schipol and then onwards by KLM6033 (Delta Airlines operated) on 25/4/17. Just been advised flight out from schipol is 20 mins early leaving us 1Hr 20 min to transfer. Is this enough time to comfortably go between gates and do all the checks before the boarding time allotted. what gates do the one flight land at and the second flight take off from.

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go through US Security questions and to your departure gate. You won't know your exact gates until the day of your flight.

Hi, I have 55 minutes between flights from Vienna to Amsterdam, then Amsterdam to MSP. Do I have to show my passport and will 50 minutes be enough time

Yes, you will have to go through Schengen Exit passport control (a brief process) and US Security questions before going to the gate for your MSP flight. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Hello, I will be flying from DTW to FCO, via AMS. I have a 2 hour layover in AMS. Is this enough time? What is the procedure when we arrive to AMS? Do we have to collect bags?

Yes, that should be plenty of time. All you have to do is go through Schengen entry passport control and to your departure gate.

Hi we will be flying DL126 BOS-AMS and transferring AMS-BHX with about 2 1/2 hour transfer coming and 2 hours on the return leg, will be transferring to Cityhopper, but it's one booking via DL. I assume that would be enough time, but all advice appreciated.

That is plenty of time. All you have to do in Amsterdam both ways is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Flying into Amsterdam and land at 9:20 am. Would like to book a 11:50 am flight to Stockholm on Norwegian. We will have to get bags, customs, and then check in for Norwegian flight. Will we have enough time?

  • Transit time if we need to pick up a luggage

Hi, I will travel with 2 different airlines and I need to pick up my luggage at Amsterdam airport, and go trough the departure area and customs again. I read a lot comments about very long queue in custom's area. How much time do I need between my 2 flights? (one inside Europe, the other outside Europe). Thank you!

What exact countries are you flying to/from and airlines are you flying on? Your question is too vague to answer.

I am flying from Trondheim to Amsterdam, then I need to pick up my bags. My second fligth is from Amsterdam to Singapore. Same on the way back.

Then I would want 2.5 hours between flights.

  • Enough transfer time?

I'm flying from Boston to Paris with 1hr and 45 minutes to transfer in Schiphol airport. My question is I would like to leave a carry on bag in a locker in Schipol airport for a few days and was wondering if I would have enough time to deplane, do customs, drop the bag and get back thru security for my connecting flight? I will already have a boarding pass. Thanks

I think that would be really close whether or not that's enough time.

I am coming in late on Ryan Air from Dublin with checked baggage. I need a place to sleep for an early am flight to Seattle on KLM. What airport hotel would be the most convenient?

Since you'll need to claim your bags re-check them with Delta the next morning, you'll have to stay in a regular hotel outside the transit area, such as the Sheraton, Hilton, or CitizenM.
