  • Transferring From Delta to Vueling With Checked Bags
    Nov 30, 2015
I'm arriving from the US to AMS on Delta at 10:45am. I would like to fly to Spain on Vueling on a flight leaving at 1:25pm. I do think we will have checked bags. Will I have to pickup my bags in baggage claim and re-check them with Vueling? Will I have enough time for this? Is there any luggage transfer between Delta and Vueling that I can take advantage of?

I am connecting thru Ams from Mme to Ewr on separate bookings, different airlines: klm Mme/Ams and UA Ams/Ewr with 50 min connection time. No checked luggage (I hope). Is this feasible? And is there room on a focker 70 to stow a standard roll aboard?

Yes, a Fokker 70 has enough room for a roll-aboard. However, this will be very difficult if you aren't able to check in for your United flight online as you will have to run to the United transfer desk upon arrival in Amsterdam.

Yes. all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

1 hour connection enough time? Delta 1 ticket customs at AMS? security at AMS? 1 checked bag at JRO

You do not have to go through customs or do anything with your bag in Amsterdam. You just have to go through security and to your departure gate.

  • Is 50 minutes enough ?
    Nov 19, 2015
We are booked into AMS from Aruba on KLM, continuing to Munich on KLM 50 minutes later. We are travelling on USA passports. Can we make it through EU customs to make that connection in 50 minutes ?

It's possible but doesn't leave much time to spare if the flight from Aruba is delayed.

I'm booked tickets for Singapore to Amsterdam on Garuda Indonesia and from Amsterdam to London Heathrow on BA and I will be transiting at Schipol for three hours. Do I need to clear passport control?

If both tickets are on the same reservation and you have checked baggage, or if you don't have checked baggage, you will not have to go through passport control. If you purchased two separate reservations and have checked baggage then you will have to go through passport control to claim your baggage from Garuda and transfer it to British Airways.

  • Enough connection time?

My mom is traveling from Bucharest to Calgary connecting in Amsterdam. She only has 1 hour and 40 min between the flights. Is this enough time? Does she have to go through security or passport check? Thank you!

That is plenty of time. She will have to go through security after arrival but will not go through passport control because she is not entering the Schengen Area.

I will be flying DTW-AMS-OSL, all on same reservation. Is 90 minutes enough time for connection in Amsterdam? What about return trip...also with a 90 minute layover? Thanks in advance.

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

As long as both flights are on the same reservation you will not have to do anything with your baggage in Amsterdam.

  • Connection BCN-AMS-LAX
    Nov 9, 2015
Hello! Mi family and I are traveling from BCN to AMS with KLM (we arrive at 8:30am) and we have a connection flight to LAX with the same airline at 9:50am, all in a single booking; we have 1 hr and 20 minutes of layover, assuming the first flight is on time. I am not sure if we need to go through security again in order to take our connection flight. I have no information about the terminals and gates our flights arrive/depart. Should we just walk to our departing gate at our arrival or do we need to go through extra steps like passport control first (we are mexican citizens)? I really appreciate any help you could give us since our layover is pretty tight.

All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will go through Schengen exit Passport control (which is a very brief process) on your way. You have plenty of time.

    Awesome, thank you!

  • India to USA via Amsterdam
    Nov 7, 2015
My parents have valid USA visitors visa (B2). Do they still need to have transit visa for AMS. Also they are travelling tomorrow. Please let me know, what i need to do ?

Since they have a US Visitors visa they do not need a schengen airport transit visa. Sorry that I had overlooked that earlier.

  • Delhi (India) to Seattle (USA) via Amsterdam
    Nov 7, 2015
My Parents are coming from Delhi to Seattle via AMS. Total overlay time is 2:30 hours. Is it good enough ? Also do they need any transit visa ? If i am not wrong they only need to go through security check.

Indian citizens require an Airport Transit Visa to transit a schengen country, even if it is a sterile transit as is the case in Amsterdam. They have enough time.

Thanks for you reply. My parents have valid USA visitors visa. Do they still need to have transit visa for AMS. Also they are travelling tomorrow. Please let me know, what i need to do ?

  • United to Amsterdam and then KLM to Bergen, Norway
    Nov 6, 2015
I booked a United flight to Amsterdam, arrived 9:30AM. I booked a separate flight with KLM that same day to leave at 11:55. Will I need to go through Customs, Ticketing and Security again. Will I need to get my bag and recheck it on the KLM flight. Is this all enough time? thanks!!!

If you have hcecked bags, yes, you will go through Schengen passport control, claim your bags, then walk through customs, take your bags to the KLM check-in counter, check them, go through security and to your departure gate. If you don't have checked bags then you can just go through Schengen passport control and to the KLM transfer desk or your departure gate if you are able to check-in online. You should have barely enough time if you check bags.

  • Transfering from Malta to AMS to Canada to US
    Nov 5, 2015
We will be connecting in AMS from Malta to Toronto and have 1 hour 5 minutes. Will we be able to make our connecting flight.

Yes, that should be enough time as long as all tickets are on the same reservation and bags are checked through. You will just have to go through Schengen exit passport control.
