Hi. Travelling ATL-AMS with Delta then AMS-NCL with KLM (All booked on the same booking). I have checked in onlne however, Delta say I need to recheck for AMS-NCL - this has not happened on previous occasions - can anyone advise? Thanks Anna

Yes, you will just have to stop at the KLM transfer desk to get a seat assignment. It's likely that there are no seat assignments currently available.

I am arriving from FRA with a connection to MAD on IB. i guess KL1764 will arrive on concourse B and IB 3723 will depart on concourse D. Layover is 40 minutes. Is that enough, are there any checkpoints to pass? It is a Schengen Connection, so there should be no more passport or baggge checks.

If you have no checked baggage or both tickets are on the same reservation you just have to from your arrival gate to your departure gate and should have enough time.

Hi. We do have checked baggage but usually just move gate to gate. Not sure why Delta won't let us check in for flight from AMS-NCL when we booked everything together. Do you think we will have to collect and recheck baggage? Thanks, Anna

Delta has no say in it. It's KLM policy that dictates. They should transfer your bags to Iberia.

I'm traveling with KLM from Frankfurt to Amsterdam and Amsterdam to Salt Lake City. I only have 55 min for my connection. Is my connecting flight in the same terminal? Freaking out lol

Amsterdam has only one Terminal, so yes.

    Thank you so much.

We will arrive in AMS on Delta and have confirmed tickets on Transavia from AMS-PSA...will we be required to exit security area in order to catch our connecting flight?

If your tickets are on two separate reservations, yes, you will have to exit security to claim your bags from Delta and then re-check them with Transavia.

Do transit Visa required in this case. Any fees needs to be paid to Ams airport

Are you saying that we need a visa to transit through AMS? We have entered Europe numerous times in AMS and gone to other countries and we have never been required to have a visa. We always present our itinerary an flight information when asked. If something has changed in the last 9 months, please let me know!

Hi, we're traveling from Venice to AMS and then on to MSP. We have 90 minutes layover in AMS. Will have checked baggage. Flying on Delta both legs. Will we have enough time? Also, will we need to do anything with our bags in AMS or just go through customs when we get to Minneapolis?

You don't have to do anything with your bags in AMS. You will just go through Schengen exit passport control, US Security questions, and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

  • 2 separate tickets, do I need a visa to re-check luggage?

Hi! I'm flying through Amsterdam from Kyiv (1 ticket) and then from AMS to KL. Looks like there's no way to check in the luggage from Kyiv straight to KL. Do I need a Schengen visa to exit the airport, collect luggage and check in to the second flight? Also, how much time should be budgeted for that (haven't bought the Kyiv-AMS ticket yet). Thank you!

Yes, you will need a Schengen Transit Visa and about 3 hours in AMS to make this transfer if you travel on two separate tickets.

I fly from Barcelona to Kuala Lumpur with connection at Amsterdam, the transit time is only 1 hour. Is this too close of a connection? The tickets are from KLM Airlines.

That should be enough time. You will have to go through Schengen exit passport control in Amsterdam, where some people have been reporting some problems lately.

Flying ARN to AMS on KLM and connecting to Delta to USA. What checkpoints do I go thru and how much time will it take? I have 2 hours between flights

You will just go through Schengen Exit passport control and to your departure gate. You should have plenty of time.

I have only 1:45 hr layover at AMS airport , i booked all the flight on KLM from Cairo-AMS- Los Angeles, is this enough time ? do i have to pass the customs and to recollect my Baggage at AMS?

You don't go through customs or collect your baggage because you are not entering the Schengen Area. You just have to go through security and to your departure gate.

Also you should have enough time.

  • 40 mins transfer time with KLM ZUR > SCH > LEEDS

Flying tomorrow from Zurich to Schipol to Leeds with a connected single booking all the way through with KLM. I have only hand luggage. Switzerland is Schengen but UK is non-Schengen, both flights are KLM, will 40 minutes give me enough time ? My Zurich leg arrives into Schipol at 20:55

That will be very difficult as you will have to go through Schengen Exit passport control in AMS. For future reference, the code for Zurich is ZRH and the code for Amsterdam is AMS.

I have 55 minutes to catch my next flight, no checked bags, will it be enough time to catch it?

If both flights are on the same reservation that should be barely enough time if everything goes smoothly. You will have to go through Schengen exit passport control in Amsterdam. People have been reporting issues with exit passport control in Amsterdam lately.

I'm flying from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam and then have 1 hour 45 minutes before a connecting flight to Basel. Both flights are KLM. Is that enough time for checked baggage or should I just do carry-on?

Yes, that is enough time. If both flights are on the same reservation then you don't have to do anything with your baggage in Amsterdam.

    Thank you for your response

Is it one reservation or two separate reservations?

hell! booked under flight hub, paid for the flights altogether if that is what you mean
