I'm flying KLM Frankfurt to Manchester through AMS. Arrival in AMS is 15:35 and departure for MAN is 16:20... do I have to go through passport control (American Citizen) and what are the chances that both me and my luggage make it to Manchester on time?

You will go through Schengen Exit passport control in Amsterdam. You should have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

We have 1 hour and 30 minutes to make this connection from Atlanta transfer to Cape Town. on KLM. Will we have to go through security?

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do in Amsterdam is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

We have flights PDX-AMS-BCN with a 1 hour 50 minute connection in AMS. Coming back we have 6:20 am departure from BCN-AMS-PDX with a 1 hour layover. Will we make those connections ok in AMS? Thank you!

I should have included that we are on Delta and KLM on one reservation.

Yes, that should be just enough time both ways.

    Thank you very much!

I'm flying from Toronto to Amsterdam, and then I'm catching a flight to Budapest (separate booking). Is 1 hour 15 minutes enough time to make this transfer?

To clarify, my luggage will be carry on only.

Even if both flights are on KLM this will be difficult as recent reports are that the Schengen Entry Passport Control lines in Amsterdam have gotten quite long.

I was afraid that might be the case, but I'm glad I know. Thank you!

I will be coming in on Czech Airlines and transferring to DL. I will have one hour and 15 minutes to connect. I will have to stop at the transfer desk to get my boarding pass on DL. Is that enough time? Thank you.

    I won't say it's flat out impossible, but I wouldn't try it.

Hi, I've read many of the comments about travel through AMS on this forum and honk I should be fine, but thought I'd check to see. DEN-MSP-AMS-FCO. We have 65 minutes to connect. From everything I've read, we simply go gate to gate with no security...or anything to really slow us down. That should be enough time, correct?

Actually in Amsterdam you will have to go through Schengen Entry passport control which is apparently quite slow these days. Good luck.

Yes, that should be enough time. In Amsterdam you will go through Schengen Exit passport control and US Security questions and to your gate.

Hi, Wondering if 2 hr and 45 min is long enough to catch a flight at 8:45am on KLM after arriving on Delta flight scheduled in at 5:50 am from the USA? Thx

Yes, that should be enough time.

I hope so -- strangely enough I just bought almost this same thing -- arrive on Delta at 6AM, leave from AMS to Basel at 8:25.

  • JFK - AMS - JRO
    Apr 13, 2017
Flying from JFK to JRO with a connection in AMS of 1 hr 55 min. Arriving on DL 72, departing on KLM 9349, but booked on the same reservation. Will have checked baggage. Will that connection time be enough? Will have approx. the same connection time coming back through AMS as well, only arriving on KLM and departing on DL.

Yes, that is enough time. On the way to Kilimanjaro you just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. On the way back you just have to go through security and to your departure gate.

Travelling from Aberdeen with onward connection onto Dubai. Connection time is given as 55 minutes. Is this doable considering you have to be at the gate 15 minutes before

It should be possible as all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate

I have a flight from Seattle to Amsterdam on Icelandair arriving 1240. Changing airlines to KLM bound for Venice. That flight leaves at 1430. Separate tickets. Is that enough time? 1 hour 50 min. And what is the process to get luggage and recheck luggage?

    Realistically I don't think that's enough time.

I have a flight arriving on air Canada at 10:15. I connect onto a seperate booking with Alitalia at 11:35- do I have enough time to go through customs and connect - carry on bag

That is barely possible if everything goes perfectly. Check in online for your Alitalia flight before leaving Canada.
