We are flying in September from Budapest on Delta/KLM arriving at 140pm and departing AMS to BOS at 245pm Delta. Is this enough time? Do we have to go through both passport control and PDC? I want to know where to go so we don't waste any time.
I am travelling to USA through Amsterdam on two separate airlines from Delhi . Jetairways from Delhi-Amsterdam and Amsterdam- Philadelphia on American Airlines. I need to collect my baggage at Amsterdam airport and recheck with American Airlines. Do I need transit visa inorder to do that. I am travelling with my parents as well. I am a permanent resident of USA and my parents hold an US Visa. We all hold a Nepalese Passport.
Yes, you will need a Schengen Transit Visa issued by the Netherlands. You may actually be exempt because of your permanent residency.
Flying Atlanta to Vienna through Schiphol with 3hr 40 minute layover. Seems like plenty of time, but 2 weeks ago I went through Schiphol Glasgow to Atlanta. Since I wasn't entering EU I didn't go through passport control. This time I will have to. The passport control line 2 weeks ago went the entire length of the terminal causing me to wonder whether 3 hr 40 min is enough. My return is also through Schiphol Vienna connecting to Minneapolis with a 4 hr 25 min layover. For prior trips the passport control leaving the EU seems shorter than the one entering the EU. But that EU entry passport control line 2 weeks ago was really long.
I am flying MAD to AMS with a layover of 1hr and 55min before flight AMS to ATL. Is this enough time to clear passport control? Carry on luggage only. Will I need to additionally go through customs or security before flight to US?
You have enough time. You will go to an intermediate "gate" where they will ask you a few questions before sending you to your real gate.
Hello my family of 5 will arrive at AMS at 8:37 PM 3/13/18 via KLM on single ticket flights. We will have 1 hr 20 min to get to our next flight to Athens at 10:50 PM. is this enough time to change flights? Do we have to collect our checked bags and recheck them for our flight to Athens? We have not purchased these tickets yet as we don't know if this is enough time.
Where are you flying into Amsterdam from?
From the US via Phoenix Arizona with a stop but no plane change in Minnesota.
You will change planes in Minneapolis. You don't have to do anything with your bags in Amsterdam, just go through Schengen Entry passport control and to your departure gate.
Arriving from Spain to AMS eve of 7/26, with 11-hour layover and onward to USA the next morning. Will I need to get checked luggage evening of 7/26? If so, then where do I go the next morning? (Flying with Delta/KLM).
Addendum to original question: How much time do I need to plan for to recheck luggage, go through security, Schengen Exit, US questions, etc.?
Hello! I am planning a trip from Montreal to Cape Town, and there are several flight options that have a stop in Amsterdam. What is the minimum layover length to safely make the connection? Will I have to clear customs in Amsterdam? Thanks!
Packing for 10 day trip and realize I may need to check a bag...do I have to pick up my baggage in AMS and recheck for flight to Madrid...with only 1 hour layover will I make the next flight (why would Delta book this tight connection if not possible...do they count on no checked bags?)
You don't have to claim your bags in Amsterdam if both flights are on the same reservation.
