we arrive in ams at 735am and depart to ath at 835. we are flyin with delta and 7 family members. i want to make sure we have enough time? are the gates close?

It's doable, but hurry (AMS is well-marked, just follow signs. NOTE: Arrivals from a non-Schengen (foreign) country at AMS: The passport will be checked upon arrival at, and departure from, Amsterdam Airport. On arrival, after passport control, follow signs to 'Baggage Hall' located on the ground level, retrieve your bags, & go through customs for security check. As you connect to a Schengen country, go through ticket control & security check; if connecting to a non-Schengen country, security check will be at the gate. Note that the transfer desks offer transfer information, and serve as check-in for a connecting flight - or - use of the self-service transfer kiosk.

There is a 24 hour dunkin donuts in Terminal 5 and a food court with nice benches to sleep on in T4 - http://www.sleepinginairports.net/usa/newyorkjfk.htm

Flying from ATL (Delta operated) to AMS then to New Delhi (KLM operated). Do I have to pick my baggae at AMS and then Check in again? Or will it get automaticaly transferred to my Destination at AMS?

2 hours 45 minutes should be sufficient. Once you clear customs and re-check your bags with United you can go through security and take the shuttle bus to Terminal A where your BWI flight will likely depart, or take the AirTrain to Terminal A and go through security there (the AirTrain is currently under construction but will be finished by the end of July).

Arriving 8:35 AM in AMS, connecting to KLM going to EDI at 10:00 a.m. Is that enough time

Yes, that should be plenty of time - AMS has sterile intl->intl connections so you will just have to go through security at your departure gate.

  • connecting with elderly traveler

My husband will be traveling with his father from Budapest to Amsterdam on KLM, and then on to Atlanta. Can you tell me how far they will have to walk and if 1-½ hours will give them enough time to make this connection. Are there shuttles in the airport for elderly? Thanks!

At AMS, the bow-shaped terminals has gates A - M; walking time from the entry of B or C gates all the way over to the entry of G, H or M gates would take about 15 mins. Walking to the end of B gates takes 15 mins; for the C gates 7 mins; for the D gates 8 mins; for the E gates 1 min; for the F gates in the Center 2 mins; for the G gates 5 mins; and for the H & M gates 7 mins. On arrival at connecting (non-Schengen - foreign) gate you go through security check. Not sure about transport, but airlines provide wheelchairs if reserved ahead of time.

They should not have to walk far. AMS is a fairly compact airport by international standards and they should have plenty of time. If your father-in-law can't walk easily you should request wheelchair service from KLM.

I will be flying into AMS from Norway and my connection for Warsaw is only 50 mins. WIll this be enough time? Normally, I have an hour or more so just wondering if anyone has had any troubles? I saw that yesterdays flight to Warsaw left from Gate C but not sure where I will be arriving....

Your transfer time at AMS should suffice. For detailed terminal & transfer information open www.ifly.com/ams, click on click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to text, including terminal layout, arriving/connecting procedures, & flight transfers.

  • arrive from Korea by KLM and transfer to LON with Easy Jet

I will be flying AMS from Incheon, Korea by KLM on 04:55 03MAY and depart to LON Gatwick 07:05 by Easy Jet same day. Please advise whether transfer time is OK and what is arrival and departure terminal and gate number, procedure.

AMS only has one terminal. Once you clear immigration and claim your baggage you will have to check it at the EasyJet counter, which should be in the same building.

I'll be arriving from Detroit, USA and departing to entebbe , Uganda with a 65 minute layover? Will i make my flight?

all of the above flights are on Delta / KLM.

Yes, Amsterdam allows sterile International->International connections so you will just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate and pass through security.

I will be traveling with KLM from Panama To AMS and just have 1:20 minutes to pick up the baggage, check the passport and take one more flight with KLM to Helsinki. will be the time enough?

That should be enough time. AMS is built to handle tight connections.

Connecting KLM from Houston to KLM Glasgow on an August weekend, with 2 hour layover. Is that enough time and what procedures will we have?

Since you are arriving from a non-schengen country and transferring to another one, you will just have to go through security at your departure gate. That should be plenty of time.

  • Delta to KLM transfer

What terminal does Delta usually have for arriving flights and what terminal does KLM have for departing flights? To Nairobi. Thanks

Amsterdam only has one Terminal and allows sterile transfer, so just follow the signs from your arriving gate to your departure gate.

Flying from Rome (via Munich) with Lufthansa at 1030 a.m. Non-connecting flight with KLM to Canada at 1230. Do we pick up our luggage, go through customs, then to a KLM baggage drop off point? Is 2 hours enough for an international flight? I will have already checked in online.

You will not have to go through customs in Amsterdam as Rome, Munich, and Amsterdam are all within the Schengen area. So you will just have to pick up your bags at the Schengen Baggage claim and check them with KLM. Alternatively, it never hurts to ask if the Lufthansa agent in Rome can check your bags through to your KLM to Canada. Lufthansa and KLM do have an interline agreement. You will have to show your KLM flight confirmation to the Lufthansa agent if you want to try this.

Thank you so much for your very helpful answer. Relieves a lot of stress!
