I am flying from Berlin via AMS to MSP. I have about 1 hour and 30 minutes layover. Would that be enough time? Do I need to go through security checks and passport controls after landing at AMS?

You will go through Schengen exit passport control and US Security questions in AMS. You should have enough time.

I only have a 55minute layover between Tokyo to Birmingham UK via Amsterdam. Will I be able to make my connecting flight?

If both flights are KLM then that should be enough time. All you have to do in Amsterdam is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Hello, I am booked on a Delta flight from Atlanta to AMS arriving at 06:00 and departing for Geneva at 07:00 via KL City Hopper. I am a US passport holder that will have checked luggage. Will I have enough time to make the connection? Also I have an injury so if it is a long walk I can ask for a wheelchair unless having to wait for the wheelchair will slow me down too much? Thank you.

That should be barely enough time. Yes, if you think you need a wheelchair you can request one by calling Delta.

I want to fly Delta from Detroit to Vienna and I want to know what terminal I will be in and what amount of time I will need to do customs and whatnot. The layover is 3.5 hours, It will be enough, but I want to plan out the layover

Amsterdam only has one terminal. 3.5 hours is plenty of time for your connection.

How long does it take to make the connection between Delta and KLM at AMS airport

An hour is cutting it too close. The passport control line can take a good 45 min and it's quite a long walk. I never choose flight connections at AMS with less than an hour or you're likely to miss your flight

HI Flying LBA (UK) - DTW(US) via AMS with Delta: Will luggage be checked through or will i have to recheck at AMS? Is 55 minutes enough? TKS

You will not have to do anything with your bags in Amsterdam. You just have to go through US Security questions and to your departure gate.

Will 55 mins be enough time

Yes, that should be enough time.

    Thanks

Arrive from Ham 19.40. dep to NBO 20.35. Travling KLM and Kenya Airways. 55 min for connections the next flight, can I make this?

Yes, if both tickets are on the same reservation you just have to go through Schengen Exit Passport Control and to your departure gate. That should be enough time.

Yes, same reservation. No problems, Thank you for you reply.

  • KBP-AMS-MSP Connection time?
    Dec 14, 2015

Hello, I have a connection from KBP at AMS connecting to MSP. My connection time Is 1h30m. Is this enough time to make it. I am a U.S. Passport holder. Any advice on how to make it. Thanks

That should be enough time you will just have to go through security and US security interview on your way to your departure gate.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Since I will be arriving from a non EU country, does that take longer in the connection process? Do I need to pick up my checked baggage at AMS or will it go through to MSP? I have all flights on one ticket. Thanks

Yes, you have to go through more security. You do not have to do anything with your baggage.

Hi, If for some reason I was not able to make it to my connection on time, because of long lines at security or getting lost or something of that nature, would the airlines rebook me on a later flight for free or would I be liable for the changes? All the flights booked on one ticket through KLM. Thanks

Yes, although there is only one AMS-MSP flight per day. They may be able to get you to MSP through New York or Detroit. They would rebook you.

  • London > Connecting in AMS > Madrid

Hi There, Realized my flights from London to Madrid has only a 40 minute layover in AMS - Amsterdam. My husband and I will not have any checked bags, just a small carry on and personal bag. Is this enough time for a transfer? I read that because London is NOT Schnegan but part of EU, we will only have to go through passport control via the Priority Lane, since the security screening at LHR is up to par for Schnegan standard. I just want to ensure this is accurate and that we will not have to go through security screening AND passport control.. Many thanks in advance!

I should mention! We are both US Passport Holders. And both flights (London to Amsterdam & Amsterdam to Madrid) are via KLM City Hopper flights.

Correct, you will just have to go through passport control. You should have enough time if your flight from London is on-time.

Hi there, I land with Aer Lingus from Dublin at 08.40. I have to collect a bag and then board a Delta flight at 10.30am (DL73 AMS -ATL - Lima Peru.). The Aer Lingus flight and the Delta flight are separate bookings. What are my chances of making the Delta flight, bearing in mind I will have checked in online and will just need to do Bag Drop?

That should be just about enough time as long as your Aer Lingus flight is on-time. You will also have to go through Schengen passport control in Amsterdam and then US security interview before going to your departure gate.

    Thank you!

Single ticket booked coming in from US on UA and then only 50 min to get to Aer Lingus to Dublin later today. Am I going to make it?

That should be enough time as long as your UA flight is on-time.
