Im flying to london from kenya - i have a valid visa for the UK do i need a transit visa for amsterdam?

If you have a valid UK Visa you do not need a transit visa to transit Amsterdam as long as all flights are on the same reservation.

My parents are flying in to Amsterdam using my sister's benefits on KLM. Then I have booked them a separate flight within a few hours of their arrival to come to Qatar. Do they have to clear customs and collect their baggage and then re-check in? They are travelling two separate airlines (Turkish Airlines the second time) and have never left the States before. Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, if they are on two separate reservations they will have to clear passport control, claim their bags, and take them to the check-in counter for Turkish and then go through exit passport control and security. That is a very difficult connection.

  • Baggage storage lockers inside or outside security

We want to store luggage during a 10 hour layover. When we return to AMS we need to get our luggage, then check it in with Icelandair. The AMS mao looks as if the locker are between security and the gates. Do we have to go through security to get our luggage from lockers, go back out, check in, and then go through security a second time? Other options?

I'm flying from Barcelona to Atlanta on KLM airlines with a connection through Amsterdam Schiphol airport. I was wondering what the polices for international travel from Amsterdam.

In Amsterdam you just have to go through Schengen exit passport control, then go to the "temporary gate" where you will go through US Security questions, then go to your real departure gate.

Thank you so much for the information and your prompt reply

  • Public Lounges Not Related to Any Airline

Flying Vancouver to Dublin on KLM with a 6hr layover in Amsterdam. Wondering if there are any non-airline-specific lounges available where I might be able to pay a fee for my family to use the lounge for the duration of the layover, rather than wander the airport for 6hrs (we don't qualify for any airline-specific lounges.) I do not believe we will be passing through passport control until we get to Dublin, so this would need to be before passport control in Amsterdam. Thanks

I will fly from SFO in the US to Schiphol and then on to Johannesburg South Africa. What is the transfer process at AMS. Will I have to retrieve bags and re check?Do I go through security?

If both flights are on KLM all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Thanks so much for your prompt response. So just passport control, and some walking?

Since you aren't entering the Schengen Area you don't even have to go through passport control.

  • Connectivity with the arrival terminals

My friends and I are traveling to Amsterdam in July. All of us are coming from different countries and arriving at different times. we would like to exit the airport together to save some money on transport. If it happens that we arrive at different terminals would we able to walk through the arrival terminals. Are the terminals connected to each other? Is there a central point in the airport terminal where we could meet.

    Amsterdam only has one terminal.

I am traveling solo to Europe (first time ever doing international travel). I am flying into Schiphol on Delta from the US and connecting 3 hrs later to Prague via KMS/Delta. Never having traveled through Europe it sounds like this airport is well organized and I should have no problems. I will have one personal purse and 1 small carry-on. When I exit, do I assume the passport control will be well visible and easy to find? I have also seen comments about flying in to a building separate from the terminal and needing transportation to the terminal. Just want an idea in my head of what to expect before I am there - wide-eyed and overwhelmed. Thank you!! ( I leave in August)

All you have to do when you arrive is follow signs to your departure gate. You will go through passport control when you enter the hall that your departure gate is on.

  • USA to AMS to ZGA (Croatia), Do I have enough time?

Delta flight arrives at AMS from USA(citizens) at 8:30am. We will need to clear customs (no declarations to make) and retrieve checked bags. then we'll need to re-check in with Croatia Airlines and go back through security. Do we also have to go through passport check again (Croatia is no Schengen country yet)? Our flight departs at 11:20am (2 hours and 50 minutes betwn arrival time and departure). Do we have enough time? Are security line/passport check wait times lengthy at AMS? Do we need VISA for Croatia?

You should have just enough time. US Citizens do not need a visa to visit Croatia.

  • 1.5 HR layover

Looking to buy tickets from SFO to CPT with a 1.5 HR layover in AMS. Is that enough time to make a connection? I'll have a checked bag, and hoping to book through one airline, and am concerned about having to pull my bag for screening again, which takes time. Thank you for your reply!

You don't have to do anything with your bag if everything is on the same reservation. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

I am travelling from Cape Town to New York via Amsterdam. Using KLM for both flights. Do I have to go via passport control in Amsterdam or do I proceed straight to the departure gate. I have a 3 hour layover

You will just go through security and to your gate. YOu have plenty of time.

I am flying into Schiphol from Dubai at terminal 3 and have a 12 hour transit and cannot leave the transit area. I have only hand luggage. Will I be able to claim my boarding pass for my ongoing flight to Montego Bay via a self transfer kiosk machine in the transit area. I am flying Condor Air. Thank you

Yes, Condor should have a transfer desk in the transit area.
