Security at Antalya Havalimani AYT Airport

Safety and security are our highest priority. We would like to assure you that ICF Airports, in full cooperation with government authorities and airlines, is always working to ensure your safety and security. We abide by all international and local standards and regulations as outlined by ICAO and ECAC.

Here are some tips for our passengers to ensure smooth and hassle free travel. Please note that we are not able to list all possible prohibited items. The list is to be used as a guide to help you determine what items can be taken on board.

Packing Tips
Help us reduce the queues at security control by ensuring that you do not pack prohibited items in your hand luggage or check-in baggage. The following items must not be packed in your hand luggage. They must be placed in your check–in baggage. If these items are discovered in your hand luggage they may be confiscated:

•    Scissors (except where both blades are round-ended or less than three centimetres)
•    Razor blades (razors that have the blade set into a plastic moulding are allowed, but razors that can be opened and the razor blade removed are prohibited)
•    Knives (including pen knives) with blades of any length
•    Hypodermic needles (unless required for medical reasons, for which proof will be required)
•    Tools
•    Catapults
•    Corkscrews
•    Walking/hiking poles
•    Toy/replica guns (metal or plastic)
•    Bats (baseball/cricket)
•    Darts
•    Billiard, snooker or pool cues

For safety reasons, there are a number of items that cannot be taken onto any aircraft. So please do not pack them in any luggage (hand or check–in):

•    Flammable liquids and solids
•    Organic peroxides
•    Tear gas devices or any gas cylinders
•    Infectious substances such as live virus materials
•    Wet-cell car batteries
•    Instruments containing mercury
•    Instruments containing magnets
•    Fireworks
•    Non-safety matches
•    Fire lighters, lighter fuel, paints, thinners
•    Poisons, arsenic, cyanide, weed killer
•    Radioactive materials, acids, corrosives, alkalis, caustic soda or bleaching powders

Please be patient if you have to queue at the terminal entrance security control or gate security control. The security checks we employ as you pass through the airport ensure the safety and security of all our passengers.

At the Airport
To help speed up the process at the security check points, your cooperation with searches would be appreciated and you can help us by:

•    Not rushing through the check points
•    Going through the check point one at a time
•    Placing all metal objects on your belongings into your handbag or in the plastic trays provided
•    Taking off your coat
•    Removing belts

Security Check Points
All entry points into Turkish airports have security controls as you enter the terminal building and another security check point at the gate. You and your luggage will be screened. You will need to remove jackets and coats, and place them with your luggage (including handbags, mobile phones, computers, cameras, keys, coins, etc.) on the belt or on the trays to pass through the x-ray machine.

If you are travelling with a child in a stroller, please remove the child and fold up the stroller so it can, where possible, be subjected to x-ray control.

Once you have placed all items on the x-ray conveyor belt, you may proceed through the metal detector.

If your child can walk through the metal detector on their own, they should do so. Walk through the metal detector at a normal pace. Metal detectors are safe for pregnant women, however, if you have any concerns you can request a hand search. Wheelchair users will also be subject to a hand search.

If you have an implanted metallic joint replacement, please inform the screening staff.

Some passengers may be subjected to additional searches at security control including baggage and hand searches supported by explosives trace detection equipment. Passengers are chosen at random for these searches – please don't be concerned or offended. Remember to collect all your belongings after the search. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us to ensure the safety and security of all passengers.

Airport and aircraft safety and security is a serious matter. Your cooperation in the screening process is highly appreciated as we strive to keep our airports, aircraft and passengers safe and secure.

If you refuse to cooperate with the screening process at any stage, you will not be permitted to pass through the screening point and, if you are travelling, you will not be able to board the aircraft.

Notice to Passengers
For security and crime prevention reasons, baggage and other items should not be left unattended. Abandoned baggage causes security alerts, and may be removed and destroyed.

Do not accept items from unknown persons to carry onto an aircraft. Please notify Security Staff or Airport Police if any unknown person asks you to carry anything on board your flight.

To help us ensure air travel safety, look out for any unattended articles or suspicious persons in the airport and report it immediately to the nearest Security Staff or Airport Police.
