Bellingham BLI Airport Overview

Bellingham International Airport BLI serves the areas between Washington State's city of Seattle and the Canadian Border to the north. It also serves the region's commercial, general aviation, and corporate air transportation needs. Trade-related services at the airport include a foreign trade zone, customs brokerage, U.S. Customs international terminal, aircraft maintenance and air cargo services.

The Airport is located just off Interstate 5 (Exit 258) in the City of Bellingham, Washington State--half an hour south of the Canadian Border and 90 miles north of Seattle's SeaTac Airport. Situated between the beautiful San Juan Islands and the Mount Baker area, the Airport serves as gateway to a host of recreational areas in all seasons.

With an estimated 200,000 passengers a year, the Airport is served by  Alaska & Allegiant airlines offering regular flights to Sea-Tac and other western airports as well as to Hawaii, with connections worldwide.  San Juan Airlines offers scheduled & charter flights.

The passenger terminal at Bellingham Airport  has 4 boarding gates,  rental car counters, hotel reservation desk;  'Halibut Henry' food & drink service, and an executive conference room.   NOTE: The terminal is presently in its second phase of construction work - see below - (the first phase added a new boarding gate facility).

Parking options at Bellingham Airport include short- and long-term parking across from the terminal. Credit card & cash accepted at auto-pay station situated inhe baggage claim area, or on exit at the booth.

To get from Bellingham Airport to your destination you can rent a car, take a taxi,a shuttle service:
1. The Airporter Shuttle / Bellair Charters  (866-235-5247 or visit airporters.com): to/fr Seattle, Tacoma;
2. Quick Shuttle (800-665-2122): to/fr Vancouver (Canada) Airport and metropolitan area.
3. Starting in Spring 2012 'Leap Frog Water Taxi' will serve the San Juan Islands from the Bellingham Cruise Terminal. 

Present and future Airport Developments:  Phase 2 will expand the terminal at ticketing area, baggge claim and TSA screening checkpoint - thereby tripling the terminal space. Work is expected to be completed late 2013/ early 2014.
