Bordeaux-Merignac BOD Airport Overview

Bordeaux-Merignac Airport BOD serves the Gironde region of south-west France and is France's sixth largest and fastest-growing airport, with plenty of room for extension.

The Airport is located in the town of Merignac and is 10 km south of the city of Bordeaux. The ring road around the greater Bordeaux area passes Merignac - exit 11b leads west to the Airport.

With two runways and an estimated 4.4 million passengers in 2012, Bordeaux Merignac Airport is served by national and international, regular & low-cost airlines offering direct and connecting flights to Europe and beyond.  Daily flights to Paris depart nearly every hour of the day.  Seasonal charter flights to popular vacation destinations are also available. 


Merinac Airport has one integrated passenger terminal.  (For more information, please refer to 'Terminal Map' page.)

Parking options at Bordeaux-Merinac Airport include five sites for short-, medium- and long-term parking: Express stops, P0 indoor parking garage, P1 for parking under 3 days, P2 for parking 3 to 5 days; & P4 for over 5 days, with a free shuttle to the terminal every 15 minutes. Note that P4 has over 1,200 parking spaces with 11 for special needs passengers. Three parking payment stations are in Terminal A. 

To get from Bordeaux-Merignac Airport to your destination, you have the choice of renting a car (Avis, udget, National/Citer, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt & T.T., taking a taxi, or a shuttle bus. Two shuttle buses are available: The taxi rank is located in front of Arrivals, or you can call one of nine taxi companies, one of which is Aero Taxi, tel. +335.56.40.1753.
1. Jet'Bus departs every 45 minutes from Terminal B, Arrivals level, connecting it via city center to the Bordeaux Saint-Jean train station, a ride of 45 minutes.
2. Public bus 'Liane 1'  from Airport to Bordeaux city center Quinconces with stations at Merignac Soleil, Mrignac Center, Barriere Judaique & Gambetta Square. (for more information call +335 57578888).

Plans are in place for linking the tramway system with the city center.
