Bucharest Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport BBU or short 'BBIA', is since 2012 primary Airport of the State of Romania, and of its capital city Bucharest.   (Henry Coanda Airport now serves only charters & low-cost carriers.)  Both airports are managed by 'Bucharest Airports National Company'.
BBIA has experienced phenomenal growth, unprecedented in modern air transport history: In 2005 passenger count was 385,759 and kept rising to the present day.

BBIA - located in the Baneasa district - is only 8.5 km north of  Bucharest's center, and accessible directly by motorway DN-1which leads to the Prohova Valley, or by E60 and E85 motorways.  Also, the Airport is only 1.5 km from the World Trade Center Complex, or 8km from major hotels. A ride into city center from the Airport takes about 10 minutes.

With a long runway and an estimated 7million passengers in 2012, Bucharest Baneasa Airport is served by domestic & international airlines offering direct & connecting flights to all points of the globe.

The integrated passenger terminal complex at Bucharest Baneasa Airport  has everything under one roof and includes the new Departures terminal offering
enhanced facilities and technology and a VIP lounge near the boarding gates, numerous check-in counters & self-check-in kiosks, restaurants, bars & shops.
Other amenities and services inside the passenger terminal complex are Information desks, banking facilities, internet access, baggage wrappping, rental car desks and VIP lounges.

Parking options at Bucharest Baneasa Airport: 
One hour is minimum stay at the carpark. There is no long-stay parking facility available.
