Burgas Airport BOJ, an airport in Bulgaria, Eastern Europe, experienced, due to its enviable eastern border with the Black Sea, a growing tourist business and is in the process of expanding and modernizing the Airport facilities to accommodate future growth.  Fraport Twinstar is the airport manager.
Within a 30 km radius of the airport are the seaside resorts of Slunchev Bryag (meaning sunny beach), Nessebar, Elenite Dyuni, and more. The tourist season is May to October.

The Airport is located on the Gulf of Burgas, 10 km northeast of the city center of Burgas, between the Black Sea coastal town of Pomorije and the city of Burgas, in Bulgaria.  Intermodal transportation is available by air, sea & land - Burgas has Bulgaria's busiest port, a railway junction and both the E87 motorway and the Trans European Corridor 8 are only 1-15 km from the Airport. Burgas Airport is open year round, 24/7.

With a long runway and an estimated 2.4 million passengers in 2012, Burgas Airport is served by a number of domestic, international, regular & low-fare airlines (some of which only offer seasonal flights), and by a long list of air charters to/from destinations covering countries from Siberia to Iceland, and from Scandinavia to the Middle East, with Bulgarian Air Charter and BH Air offering the most flights. Frankfurt, Moscow and Tel Aviv are only two flights hours from the Airport.

The present passenger terminal at Burgas Airport, divided into Arrivals and Departures, offers an automated check-in system for passengers and luggage and a VIP lounge offering an equipped office with internet access, transport service, preferred parking spaces and a comfortable waiting room (tel. +953 56 870265).
Other amenities and services in the present passenger terminal include: Food and drink is available at the Modera cafeteria in the Departure’s transit lounge and on the terrace, and a McDonald’s is to the left of Arrivals, in a separate building. A Rafi ice-cream parlor is in Departures. 
A Travel Value and Duty-Free shop, as well as a souvenir shop, are located in the Departure area. 
Currency exchange offices are in both Arrivals and Departures, work on zero commission and list the exchange rate of the day outside their offices. ICE, which also issues travelers checks, offers additional services and can be contacted at +359 56 872554.
A travel agency is located at Departures (tel. +359 56 842631), open daily 9:30am-6:30pm.  The mother and child area is located post-security. For lost luggage you need to fill out a form (tel. +359 56 870273). Baggage wrapping is available and cost.
Rental car counters are located at Arrivals area.

NOTE:  A new passenger terminal under construction is scheduled to open late 2013.
 
Parking at Burgas Airport is available in the parking lot within walking distance of the terminal. The lot is open 24/7 and has 199 parking spaces. The first 10 minutes are free.

To get from Burgas Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi or a bus. (a) The taxi rank is in front of Arrivals. The taxi ride into the city takes 15 minutes and costs between 7 and 15 BGN, depending on the traffic and the company.
(b) While most of the tourists are using travel agent-arranged bus services, you can also avail yourself of the Public Bus No. 15, which stops at the entrance of the Airport and runs weekdays 5am-11pm and weekends 5:30am-10:30pm (roughly every 15 minutes weekdays and every 35 minutes weekends).
