Cancun International Airport Passenger Terminals and Procedures for a Connecting Flights / International Arrivals: 
NOTE: Due to the Airport's rapid increase in yearly passenger counts (doubling between years 2000 & 2013) - major renovation & expansion work has been - and still is going on.

It is suggested that you arrive at the Airport for domestic flights 2 hours, and for international flights three hours piror to scheduled departure.

The passenger terminal complex at Cancun International Airport currently consists of  three passenger terminals - T1, T2 and T3.  They are not connected, but served by a free shuttle bus.

Terminal 1
is served by Magnicharters & Viva Aerobus. The terminal was recently renovated and has check-in facilities on the ground level with departure gates on both ground & first levels .
Terminal 2 (with Main & Satellite buildings) completed its expansion work and serves domestic & some international airlines.
    TheMain Building (2M) is served by: Aeromexico & Aeromexico Connect,  Aerotucan, Cubana, Finnair (seasonal), Interjet, Maya Island Air, MAYAir, GuatemalanTransport, Tropic Air, Volaris, & Xiknal Air. 2M houses on the lower level gates B12-22; 
    The Satellite building (2S)  is served by a long list of internatonal airlines. 2S houses gates A1-A11 on the upper level); The A & B gates are connected by walkway. 
Terminal 3 serves mostly air traffic to North America & Europe. It houses gates C23-C37). NOTE: Terminal 3 started its expansion work to be completed by 2015.

Amenities and services inside the terminals: Terminal 2 offers food & drink establishments, shops & duty-free shop, American Express, VIP Business Lounge (in both T2 & T3 - at T3 only for international departures), Aeromexico & Mexicana VIP Lounges, Value drugstore, baggage wrapping, ATM, internet access, and access to the gates. 
Terminal 3 offers many food & drink establishments, shops & a duty-free, American Express, VIP Business Lounge, Value Drugstore, baggage wrapping, internet access, & ATM machine.

Connecting flights:
International Arrivals  must go through immigration & customs first.  If your connecting flight is by the same airline, simply walk over toTerminal 2; if it is a different airline (and you did not book on one ticket), you need to claim your luggage first before proceeding to the Terminal 2 and check it in there. 
An unscheduled shuttle bus runs forth and back between the terminals, as needed. 

NOTE:  As weekends and weekday hours 10am--4pm are particularly busy times at the airport, allow yourself for plenty of time.
