Crete Chania International Airport CHQ
(also referred to as 'Souda Airport'
) serves the Greek island of Crete. It is one of two airports on Crete (the other being Heraklion Airport).
The Airport is located on the Akrotiri Penisula, near Souda Bay, on Crete Island. In the summer season, and is open 24/7.
With a long runway and over 2 million passengers annually, Chania International is served by Greek airlines offering daiy flights into Athens & Thessaloniki, and by a most of international charters during the tourist season (May-October).
Chania International has one passenger terminal with a few amenities - restaurant, minimarket , two bars, ATM machine, baby care room, newsstand & souvenir shop, Travel Value & duty-free in departures lounges, and rental car desks.
