Lost and Found at CLT Airport

Traveling can be stressful, and it's not uncommon for items to get misplaced in the hustle and bustle. Each airport, including the Charlotte Douglas Airport, has its unique procedures for handling lost and found items. This article aims to guide you through the process of reclaiming your lost items, whether they were misplaced at a security checkpoint, on an aircraft, or in other areas of the airport.

Items Lost at Security Checkpoint

If you suspect that you've lost an item at a security checkpoint, you can visit the Lost & Found Website to report it. The TSA has a dedicated portal for handling such cases, and it's always a good idea to report your lost item as soon as possible.

Items Lost on Aircraft/Lost Luggage

For items lost on the aircraft, including missing luggage at baggage claim, you must contact the airline you are traveling on. For contact information, please visit the Airlines Served page. Here are a few of the most popular airlines used at Charlotte Douglas Airport:

Items Lost in Other Areas

Items left behind at CLT are turned in to different agencies depending on where they were found. To report a lost item, complete and submit the Lost & Found Reporting Form so the Airport can better assist you in locating your lost item(s).

If your item was lost in a restaurant or food court, contact HMSHost at [email protected]. For items lost in retail stores, contact The Paradies Shops at 704-359-1890.

The Airport Lost and Found office is located just outside of Baggage Claim Zone A and is staffed seven days a week from 7 a.m. – 11 p.m. If leaving a message, please include your contact information, the date and location the item was lost or last seen, and a description of the item. If your item has been located, the office administrator will contact you to arrange pick up. Items that remain unclaimed for 30 days will become the property of the City of Charlotte.
