flying into CLT at 1047, then leaving for MBJ (Jamaica, international) at 11:30AM - 43min layover, is that enough time to make the flight and bag transfer?

Yes, that's just enough time if the first flight is on-time. It obviously doesn't leave much time to spare if it isn't.

On a Friday, if I arrive at 5:20p can I make the next flight that departs at 5:59p? Thanks, Jackie

If both flights are on American and the first flight is on-time, yes, it is possible.

I've got a flight from London to Charlotte with a connection to Columbus OH all on American with a 1 hour 47 minute layover - is that enough time to clear customs and immigration ?

That's just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Nervous flyers, we have an hour and fourteen min. layover in Charlotte, Miami to Richmond, with only carry on, what are the chances we can make it?

Is it hard to determine where we are supposed to catch this second plane? Will it be on the ticket?

1hr 14min Should Be Enough Time. If you booked it together it should be on he ticket. It should be in concourse B,C, or D.

It won't be on your ticket and probably not on your boarding pass - the best place to look is the departure monitors in the terminal in Charlotte. You have enough time and all you have to do in Charlotte is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • 5 hour layover can we leave airport and come back?
    Jun 9, 2016
Hello, me and my soon to be wife will be at this airport on Monday June 13, we fly in at 6:05 and don't leave to the Cayman Islands till 11:25 that morning. Do you think we would have enough time to leave the airport for an hour for some breakfast and quick look around and then come back and get thru security and be on time for our flight or do you think we would be pushing it?

The airport is fairly remotely located - I don't think there would be much of a point in doing that.

I have a flight from Dublin to St. Louis with CLT as a stopover. The layover time is only 1 hour 40 minutes. Do you think this is enough time? Do we have to re-check our bags in? Thank you

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Dublin. All you have to do in CLT is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

I am arriving in Charlotte from Cancun at 6:40pm. My next flight to Charleston is at 7:44pm. Will this be enough time to go through customs if I am not checking any bags?

With no checked bags you have a chance. However, it depends on the security lines being short after you clear immigration and customs.

  • Help with layover from Mexico

Family of 4 (2 kiddos) booked a round trip with AA from Kansas City MO to Cancun. AA put us on a direct flight to Cancun. However on way home they have us booked on a 60 min layover at CLT. From other posts I've read it says 60 mins will not be enough & we will miss our flight home. I called AA & they said this is very doable so they will not put us on another flight. What should I do? Is this doable?

On the way to Cancun that is very doable. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Are you talking about the flight to Cancun or From Cancun? the Procedures are quite different.

Home from Cancun to Kansas City AA said 60 min layover is ample time?!?!
