Customs at CLT then connecting flightApr 17, 201311Hi. I have a flight coming from Italy to CLT and then connects to RDU. I am considering getting out of the airport at CLT as my house is equidistant between the two airports. Is it correct that I will have to collect my bags at Customs in CLT? Perhaps at that time I can decide to head home from there or carry on to RDU. ?DKQposted on Tue, Apr 16

International arrivals ?Apr 2, 201311Where the heck is the international terminal ??? Don't answer to me: update the damn website and maps !blahgohposted on Tue, Apr 21 person likes this post [ Like ]Your post was received at iFly, not affiliated with CLT - iFly site has Terminal Map at http://www.ifly.com/charlotte-douglas-international-airport/terminal-map with terminal details. There is no International Terminal, but only one Terminal with Concourses A - E. Note that CLT map at Charlotte Douglas Airport site is hard to find, as they put it under category 'ShopDineWorkRelax' - it also takes endlessly to get it to open.tuapr13posted on Tue, Apr 2

southwest to vegasMar 7, 201320i will be flying us air from asheville to charlotte then fling southwest to vegas. when i arrive from asheville to charlotte can i go straight to the southwest boarding gate (ill already have my boarding pass) or do i need to go through security again to have my carry on rechecked before heading to southwest gates? Will southwest gates be where airtran currently is?lhposted on Tue, Feb 26Yes, all gates at CLT are connected beyond security so you can just go to the gate. The Southwest gates will probably be where the Airtran ones are now, but there's no guarantee of that.ZAPposted on Tue, Feb 26SWA gates will be A4 & A6 (where Airtran is now). You will probably arrive in the E concourse on USAir. If you check a bag plane side with USAir they will bring it up. But if you check one curbside or at the ticket counter you will have to go outside of security to baggage claim and get it and then go to SWA ticket counter and check it and then go back through security. Check both carriers carry restrictions. SWA will not bring a planeside checked bag back up on your return.brposted on Thu, Mar 7

First International Flight QuestionsFeb 25, 201320We are flying BWI to CLT and on to Rome, Italy (FCO), Our return will be the reverse. We are at a loss as to what are adequate connection times for the outbound and inbound flights considering changing planes but particularly customs at CLT.rererunposted on Thu, Feb 21Outbound, 1 hr is sufficient and 90 minutes would be safe. Returning, I'd want 2 hours because of immigration which can get quite crowded at CLT during the time when all the European flights arrive.ZAPposted on Thu, Feb 21

connected at CLT from SFO to JFKFeb 5, 201320Hi, I will be flying from San Francisco to New York(JFK) on Feb,7 by US airways. I will be connect my flights at CLT airport. I have 1h2min of layover and since it seems US Airways serves every terminal. So I don't know which terminal is to arrive and which one to depart, I am not sure if I can have time enough to make my connection? Thanks !viajeroposted on Mon, Feb 4There is only one terminal in Charlotte and all the gates are connected beyond security. If your flight is on time you will have plenty of time.ZAPposted on Mon, Feb 4

tight connection domestic to intlFeb 2, 201330Hi, I am arriving at CLT from a domestic flight at 9:11 pm and hope to be able to make a flight to London leaving at 10:15--is this enough time to go through security again and get to the gate? I only have 1 carry on. Thanks in advance for your help.dutchbaroqueposted on Fri, Feb 1Your arrival at, and departure from, CLT, depends largely on the airlines you take. If taking two different airlines, make sure the first one will transfer your bags to the second one - not all airlines do - if not, you would need to claim your bag on arrival and re-check it in with the departing airline. I stronly I suggest you open www.ifly.com/clt, then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.safeb13posted on Sat, Feb 2You will not have to go through security again. All gates at CLT are connected beyond security. If your first flight is on time, an hour is plenty of time.ZAPposted on Sat, Feb 2

connecting to Melbourne USAJan 2, 201320I am flying from Farnkfurt by LH 5290 and travelling to Melbourne FLorida by US 2435. I land at 14.45 pm to leaving at 16.45. DO I need to recehck my baggage? Do I need to fill in the immigration formalities tat Charlotte?flywestposted on Tue, Jan 11. International arrivals need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag. As both US Airways & Lufthansa belong to the Skyteam Alliance, your bags should be transferred to your connecting flight. Lufthansa uses Concourse D, and US Airways uses Concourses D,C & E - with corresponding gates. Concourses A-E surround the main terminals, no shuttle service is needed. You have sufficient time for transfer.tudec13posted on Tue, Jan 1

Brookwood Farms BBQJan 13, 201322At CLT Airport, the USO Lounge is above the Atrium, accessible by stairway or elevator. (The Atrium is a glass-enclosed structure with a tree-lined boulevard dotted with comfortable white rocking chairs and surrounded by concessions & services. Opposite from the Atrium is the ticketing area and on either side the security checkpoints leading to the concourses.) I think USO is in the non-secured area.sadec12posted on Sat, Dec 291 person likes this post [ Like ]
