Do you think that 2 hours are enough to pass the immigration control (we are Italian) and take the flight to LA? We are on a flight from Rome that land at 4 PM and the flight to LA is at 6.05 PM. Thanks Lorenzo

Yes, that should be enough time. Charlotte is not that large of an airport by international airport standards.

  • Enough time to clear customs?

HELP please Arriving on US Airways from UK at 6-20pm. Connecting flight to Tampa leaves 8pm. Will we have enough time ( 1 hour 40minutes) to clear customs and immigration and make our connection?

Yes, that should be enough time. US Airways also has a 10:20 PM flight to TPA on some nights should you miss your connection.

Thanks..thats put my mind at rest.

  • is 30 min enough time to change planes? Riding US Air from Cinci

I'm not sure that landing at 636 and taking off again at 528 and taking off at 601 is enough time if I have to change terminals. Any help? Flying US Air

Charlotte only has one Terminal and all gates are connected beyond security. If your first flight is on-time you'll be OK.

  • CUN to CLT to IND

We're looking to book RT flights for IND --> CUN next February. The trip down is fine...a 59 minute layover in CLT. But the return only allows 1:23. Will this be sufficient to do the whole customs/baggage/re-check dance and still make our connection? The flight would be arriving at 4:12pm on a Wednesday and we're US citizens (if that makes any difference...I've heard CLT has separate lines for US and non-US citizens...?) Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

That should be enough time. CLT isn't an extremely large airport and Wednesdays are slow travel days and if for some reason you miss your connection there's probably a later flight to IND from CLT.

  • Is 40 minute layover enough?

We fly from Jacksonville, NC via CLT, NC on US Airways. From CLT we fly to Philadelphia to catch a flight to Manchester, England. We have a 40 minute layover @ CLT before flying onto Philly, then the international flight from Philly. Is that enough time (40 mins) to change planes?

40 minutes should be enough in Charlotte if your flight is on-time - it's a fairly small airport by hub standards.

Connecting CLT for international flight - must I go through security there since with only one terminal I will be arriving and departing without going outside the security checkpoint. Never been thru CLT. Thanks for replies

Yes, any time you come from another country and go through US immigration you have to go back through security afterwards.

CLT just has one terminal E and C are concourses and you can walk between them in less than 15 minutes.

We're flying from STL to CLT and only have 42 minutes to connect to our flight to Cancun. Will this be enough time or should I look for a later flight? And what are the odds of our luggage making it from one plane to the next? Both are US Airways flights.

Yes, you can probably make it, but there's not much room for any delays. If there is no later US Airways CLT-CUN flight that day, I would instead look for a connection over DFW on American or IAH on United.

How long will it take to get from the end of concourse b to the end oc concourse e? Are there any shuttles?

Probably about 15 minutes, maybe half an hour if you're a really slow walker and go to the bathroom.

My family of four will be flying into CLT from Turks and Caicos. We have a 1hr. 33 minute layover on a Sunday evening. Will that give us time to collect luggage, clear customs, go through security and board on time? Thinking of just packing carryon luggage to avoid the collection step. Thanks!

You should have enough time, but of course just packing carry-ons will help.

Flying to dublin layover of 1hour 38 minutes is that enough

Yes, all gates in Charlotte are connected beyond security and you just have to go from gate to gate.

On May 2nd 2014 we will be flying from Nashville to Paris, all on US Airlines .Will 90 min be sufficient connection time { do we need to leave security to make connection?], or should we take the flight giving 3 hr 19 min to connect? Thanks

At CLT US Airways uses Terminals B, C, D & E. Open http://www.ifly.com/charlotte-douglas-international-airport/terminal-map & scroll down to the detailed text.

If your first flight is on-time, 90 minutes is sufficient. All gates at CLT are connected beyond security.
