Arrival and Departure Terminal info???Jul 11, 201224My cousin from Spain is arriving on US Airways from Madrid at CLT and departing for Montreal (also on US Airways) - with about an hour and 15 minute connection time. Can you comment what terminal he will arrive at, and from which he will depart? I've seen other comments about passport check area, picking up and rechecking bags... Just want to provide him as much information as possible before he leaves. (I'm assuming Spanish speaking agents are not a problem??)espanaposted on Sun, Jul 8[ Reply ]3 people like this post [ Like ]At CLT US Airways serves in Concourses B, C, D and US Airways Express serves in Concourse E. CLT hs only one terminal and all Concourses surround the terminal inside security. However, as an international arrival your cousin needs to go through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs clearance, and then proceed to his connecting gate. His ticket and the overhead screens on his arrival will indicate Concourses and gates. Transfer time should be sufficient.mojul12posted on Mon, Jul 91 person likes this post [ Like ]

International - Customs Bag checkJul 3, 201211We are flying into Charlotte from Spain and then catching a connecting flight to another airport with the same airline. My understanding is that we will collect our bags as we land in Charlotte and go through customs then re-check our bags for our connecting flight. Do you know if this is all done in the same area? Will it be easy to find where to check my bags since it's the same airline (US Airways)?4dlmposted on Tue, Jul 31 person likes this post [ Like ]At CLT, US Airways uses Concourses C, D & E with corresponding gates. On arrival simply follow signs to Passport control, thereafter pick up your bag, go through customs clearance the re-check in your bag at the designated area. Thereafter proceed to your connecting Concourse and gate (Concourses are connected at the Concourse level). Your ticket and the overhead screen on arrival should indicate your gate number (i.e., C19).tujun12posted on Tue, Jul 3

Connecting flightMay 16, 201212We are flying on United from Houston and connecting USAir Express. Can we get our bags and make the flight in 42 minutes?Kathyposted on Tue, May 152 people like this post [ Like ]If you are sure that United does not transfer bags to your US Air flight, you need to go down to the baggage claim and on your way back to your connecting gate pass the security check again. Hopefully, your bags arrive quickly. Note that both flights arrive/ depart from Concourse D which has gates D1-35.weapr12posted on Wed, May 16

luggage transfer autmatically or notApr 18, 201211I am arriving in Charlotte from STT (Virgin Islands) on US Airways Boeing 757 and I have a connect flight via US Airways Express Mesa to EWR in New Jersey. I have a 45min layover. Do I need to pick up my bags and bring them or are they automatically transferred by USAir? How close are the two gates? Are they in the same terminal?kmaposted on Tue, Apr 171 person likes this post [ Like ]

Going from B14 to E34--not shown on mapMar 17, 201210only have 30 minutes to get from B14 to E34...and E34 not even shown on map of terminals. (1) Is there an E34 and if so (2) if I walk fast, can I make that distanceDUSCposted on Fri, Mar 16On either side of security checkpoint are the Concourses & gates A - E. B Concourse at SWest has gates B1-16; E gates northeast have gates E1-32 (as per last CLT map - most likely outdated). When you arrive, look at the overhead screen to find your connecting flight number & gate. Half an hour is enough time.samar12posted on Sat, Mar 17

Connecting flightMar 12, 201210If we arrive on a flight from Dublin will we have time to make a flight to Orlando....approx 1 hour 20 mins.Ginaposted on Sun, Mar 111. Check if Dublin has U.S. customs clearance - saving you time at CLT arrivals - otherwise you need to go at CLT through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs clearance and re-check-in your bags, which should have all 3 airport codes on their tags - also make sure that your first airline transfers bags to orlando flight - not all airlines do, in which case you would have to carry it to your connecting concourse. Look at your ticket for your gate number - CLT has Concourses and gates A, B, C, D & E - or gates A1-12; B1-16; C2-19, D1-13; E1-32. No shuttle is needed - you can walk to your departing gate. your time is sufficient.momar12posted on Mon, Mar 12

Feb 8, 201220arriving US airways departing E25 - how long is the walk between the furthest gate on concourse B to concourse E25?***posted on Fri, Feb 31. The Departures level of the main terminal has in the center the Atrium, a ticketing & departures area with 4 security checkpoints, and access from the ticketing area or Atrium to the concourses (counterclockwise): Concourse A to the left; Concourse B southwest; Concourse C southeast; Concourse D to the right; and Concourse E northeast. B gates are B1-16, E gates are gates E1-9, and the gateway divides to the right to gates E10-19, and to the left to gates E20-26. Follow signs - it all depends on how quickly you walk.HH39posted on Fri, Feb 3

Meeting International FlightsJan 31, 201210I am arriving CLT via United Airlines (Concourse A)about 1 hour before my colleagues from Germany via Lufthansa. What is the best way to meet them after they arrive?GRposted on Tue, Jan 311. Charlotte Douglas Airport has a main passenger terminal with an Atrium, opposite of which is the ticketing area and on either side the security checkpoints leading to Concourses A through E. 2. International arrivals need to go first through passport check, retrieve checked bags, and go through customs clearance - a process of about 30-40 mins. 3. Your party arrives at Concourse D (gates D1-13) - you can either greet them either at the security checkpoint or in the Atrium of the Main Terminal: The Atrium is a glass-enclosed structure with a tree-lined boulevard dotted with comfortable white rocking chairs and surrounded by concessions & services. Opposite from the Atrium is the ticketing area and on either side the security checkpoints leading to the concourses. For Paging and Information call 704-359-4013HH39posted on Tue, Jan 31
