Coming into CLT from Antigua (international flight), how long should be allowed to get to a connecting flight after going through immigration and customs? The only connecting flight to my destination is 1.5 hours after landing at CLT. Thank you.
We are flying from London to Charlotte International and then taking connecting flight from Charlotte International to Orlando International. We have 1hr and 40min layover at Charlotte int. Is this enough to time to clear security and customs and make the connection to Orlando? Thanks
Yes, that is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Is there a way to arrange for one of those indoor vehicles that usually transport old people to pick me up at my arriving gate and take me to another terminal to make my connecting flight? I am traveling with children, and my connecting flight is already boarding when I arrive in CLT.
You request wheelchair assistance. Those carts are for the disabled. Charlotte only has one terminal.
my flight leaves Boston at 5AM & lands at CLT at 7:05AM ... My connecting flight to Cancun Mexico leaves at 7:45AM. What are the chances of me making it thru customs and onto my flight in time? as well as the chances of my bag making it on as well ?? If i do miss my connecting flight im flying american airlines how will they accommodate me ? I didn't realize this would be a issue until now since ive never flown out of the country.
I don't think you have to go through Customs leaving the country. You will show your passport in Boston and just go to your next plane in Charlotte. 40 minutes may not be long enough if your first flight is late. Usually airlines want 45 minutes just to transfer bags from plane-to-plane. When you get to Cancun, you will go through Customs. Just follow everyone else; the walk from the plane will be set up to take you straight there. When you come home, if you're flying through Charlotte you will go through Customs then. Hopefully you have about two hours because Customs can take about an hour or so.
Correct. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time.
