I will be travelling back from Barcelona in May and connecxting thru Charlotte. The flight I am looking at only has a 2 hour layover before my last flight option home that evening. Will 2 hours be enough to clear and get us to our short flight to Louisville with checked luggage?
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I'm looking to book a trip to St. Lucia. The return flight option gives my a 2 hour and 20 minute layover in CLT before I head to Houston on American Airlines. Will this be enough time to clear customs and get my bags rechecked?
Yes, that is enough time.
Hello, proposing to fly into Charlotte from Nashville and then onto Sarasota. Will I have to collect my bags and re check them or are they transferred to my next flight
No, if both flights are on American all you have to do in Charlotte is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Have flight from Barcelona to Clt have one and half hour for change. What can I do to expedite change?
You don't have to expedite. You have enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I will be traveling with a 4 month old. I will have her in a carrier in the front of me with a carseat in in a gate check bag on my back. two carry one bags and a baby bag. I will be coming into gate b15 and need to make it to gate e35 in 40 prefer 30 mins by what the airport says. will I have enough time? also will a cart be able to assist me.
Check your carseat at the check-in desk (you won't be charged) so you don't have to carry it between flights (unless you're really worried about it missing the connection). The electric carts are for handicapped people.
You can bring the carrier with you. If you can detach the car seat, TSA will just run it through the X-ray machine while you walk through the metal detector with your baby. If it doesn't detach that's fine, they'll just do a quick test on the car seat and you'll be on your way. Another tip is to take out any bottles, milk, formula and place them in the bin to be scanned. It makes it easier for them to identify the liquids and cuts down on the possibility of your bag having to be stopped and checked. Depending on the airline they do offer carts but that mostly used for the disabled or elderly. CLT isn't that big of an airport so you'd have plenty of time to get to your gate.
On American, I fly from St Louis to CLT, with a layover of 1 hr 20 min before a connecting flight to Turks and Caicos. Will that be enough time? Returning, I fly from Turks to CLT, with a layover of 1 hr 42 min before the connecting flight to St Louis. Will that be enough time to clear US Immigration, security, baggage lines, etc.
Yes, that is enough time both ways. On the way to Turks and Caicos all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Flying from MSY to Cozumel with connecting flight in CLT with only 48 minute layover. Do you think this is enough time? Also, both flights are with AA, will they take care of my checked luggage for the connecting flight?
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do on your way to Cozumel is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate - nothing with your checked bags.
I have 90 minutes since I arrive to CLT from MEX to grab a flight to Montreal (YUL). Do I have to go trough customs and is it enough time? I am a mexican citizen
Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You will need a Transit Visa or other valid US Visa to make this connection. You have barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
When I arrive at CLT on American Airlines how much time do I need to go through Customs/TSA before boarding an American Airlines flight to Rome?
I am flying on a domestic flight from Ohio to CLT for the connection to Rome so wondering how long I need between flights and do I need to get my luggage from my first flight to board the Rome flight?
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Charlotte on your way to Rome is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. 45 minutes is sufficient.
And on the return trip how much time do I need after arriving at CLT to get through Security, etc. to connect with my domestic flight leaving CLT?
When you return you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You need 90 minutes minimum, 2 hours is better.
Many thanks ZAP. If I fly from St Louis to Chicago for an onward flight to London (UK) , and have a lay over of 2 hours -- would that be suffcient to collect my checked bags and check in again at O Hare, not forgetting th Immigration checks.......
Raj, there is no US Immigration when leaving the US. If both flights are on the same reservation, all you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Flying in from St Louis to Charlotte and then on to London (UK) with an hour for changing flights. Is it too less or acceptable ?? As I am flying out of USA I do to need to go through Customs and Immigration again, I guess.
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Charlotte on your way to London is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
