Is there a way to arrange for one of those indoor vehicles that usually transport old people to pick me up at my arriving gate and take me to another terminal to make my connecting flight? I am traveling with children, and my connecting flight is already boarding when I arrive in CLT.
You request wheelchair assistance. Those carts are for the disabled. Charlotte only has one terminal.
my flight leaves Boston at 5AM & lands at CLT at 7:05AM ... My connecting flight to Cancun Mexico leaves at 7:45AM. What are the chances of me making it thru customs and onto my flight in time? as well as the chances of my bag making it on as well ?? If i do miss my connecting flight im flying american airlines how will they accommodate me ? I didn't realize this would be a issue until now since ive never flown out of the country.
I don't think you have to go through Customs leaving the country. You will show your passport in Boston and just go to your next plane in Charlotte. 40 minutes may not be long enough if your first flight is late. Usually airlines want 45 minutes just to transfer bags from plane-to-plane. When you get to Cancun, you will go through Customs. Just follow everyone else; the walk from the plane will be set up to take you straight there. When you come home, if you're flying through Charlotte you will go through Customs then. Hopefully you have about two hours because Customs can take about an hour or so.
Correct. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time.
Landing in Charlotte at 3:23 on American Airlines and leaving on American Airlines American Eagle at 4:25. Not sure if I have enough time to get from arrival gate to next departure gate as a senio in unfamiliar airpot. This is for June 20.
Yes, that is plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate and you can walk between any gates in 15 minutes.
Hi in my haste I forgot about the 1hr rule and booked a flight to London from CLT. I am flying in from SFO to CLT and then i have 50 mins to get onto my flight to London and both are operated by AA. Is that enough time or should I call AA?
That is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.
Hi, coming back from Grand Cayman with connection in CLT going to Chicago. Is 1 hr 30 minutes enough with two kids? Where do we go through customs? Do we re-check bags in CLT? Thanks much in advance
In Charlotte you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You have enough time if everything goes smoothly.
We are flying from Greensboro, NC to Charlotte, NC and then Charlotte to London. The connection time in Charlotte airport is one hour. Is that enough time to make our connecting flight from Charlotte to London? I was told we would not need to re-check our bags and we would only need to arrive two hours early at the Greensboro, NC airport.
Yes, that is enough time. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You will do nothing that you don't do on a domestic flight on your way to London other than have to show your passport when you check in in Greensboro and when you board the flight to London in Charlotte.
Thanks! Both flights are American, so our checked bags should automatically transfer from the first flight to the second, correct?
