  • Is This Enough Time?

I am a flight from DEN to TLH on July 31with a connecting flight in CLT. Arrival at CLT is 3:24p Depart is at 3:59p Is this enough time to get off the plane and make it to the next flight?

It's possible. All you have to do in charlotte is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Obviously it leaves no time to spare if your flight from Denver is delayed.

The plan is to arrive from st. Maarten on a Tuesday at 6.35pm and connect to Columbus at 7.45 pm. Terminal c first, then to terminal d. I think.Just carry on and some purchases. Do you think I have enough time f

Charlotte only has one Terminal. No 70 minutes is NOT enough time for an International to Domestic connection through Charlotte.

  • Family of 4 coming home from Cancun Mexico

I have never been in/out of US before. AA booked my family of 4 (2 kiddos) a flight coming home from Cancun to Kansas City MO with a 60 min layover in Charlotte. I didn't know you had to go through immigration, customs, recheck baggage, etc. when it's not your final destination. Since our final destination is Kansas City MO do we still have to go through all of that at Charlotte? Is there an easier/faster way? Is this even enough time to make our flight home? I've called AA 4 times & each time they tell me it's a legal connection time & so if I want to change my flight I would have to pay $200 per person to do so. Please help!

No, you do not have enough time. You need to contact whoever you booked your ticket through and have them change your flight. AA is lying to you or uninformed. If they are unwilling to change it you'll just have to prepare to spend the night in Charlotte after you arrive from Cancun.

I've called AA four times. They say it's a legal connection so they won't change my flight unless I pay $200 per person (family of 4) to do so. Guess my hands are tied. I'm going to have to just hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. Wish I would have looked into this before trusting that airlines wouldn't offer a flight/connection that couldn't be made. You'd sure think an airline would not have even offered it if it can't be done. How sad & frustrating. Now a trip that my kids were looking forward to will be a trip we will just be worried the whole time were in Cancun on how we are going to get home.

  • Is an 80 minute layover long enough for checked luggage
    Mar 30, 2016

Hi everyone, I am traveling with American Airlines from New Orleans (MSY) to Baltimore (BWI) with a layover at CLT. The itinerary is: MSY - CLT 10:37-13:30 (AA2002) CLT - BWI 14:50-16:19 (AA2063) Unfortunately, I need checked luggage on this trip as I have an international flight the following day. Will this 80 minute layover at CLT be enough for my checked luggage to make it to Baltimore on the same flight?

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

    Thanks a lot!

Hi, we are are arriving in CLT from LHR on 31/3 and only have 90 mins connection time before our flight to PBI. We're a party of 7 with 2 young children, is it possible to arrange assistance to help us try and make our connection providing we're on time. Our travel agent insist it's enough time but I'm not convinced!

There is no such service. You have enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Enough time??

I will be coming from Cancun on a Tuesday night. I will be getting in at 6:40pm and my next flight leaves st 7:49pm. Both on American. We are not checking any luggage. is this enough time??

Even with no checked bags that will be very difficult. 69 minutes is well below the minimum International to Domestic connection time.

  • Overnight Connection and Baggage

I have a Overnight connection in CLT. I am Coming at 9.11 PM and my nextflight is at 9.14 am to JFK, From JFK i am flying to India with Etihad airways.Does American Airlines will check my bags all the way to India or i have to claim bags in CLT and recheckin them next day morning.I am planning to stay inside the terminal. If they checkin i dont have to comeoutside to recheckin next day. Any Thoughts.

You will probably have to claim your bags and re-check them the next morning due to the length of your layover. Also the concourses at CLT close at around midnight, so you'd have to leave the concourse area anyway.

We are arriving at a commuter gate and departing from an int'l gate - a long walk. We have seen shuttles providing transport. How do we reserve?

The golf carts in the concourses are for people needing wheelchair assistance.

We are travelling from Dublin, Ireland to Orlando with a lay-over in Charlotte. I want to know do we need to re-check our baggage and if so how long would it take to get from the transaltantic terminal to the internal terminal. Am travelling with 3 kids and am trying to keep the travel time to a minimum

  • Small Children connecting flight

Our family of 5 is flying to charlotte airport next monday morning. Our 3 small children are getting picked up by their grandparents from the airport (age 2, 4, 6) while my husband and I get on a connection flight down to Florida 50 min after we land. What is the best way to get our small children to their grandparents without us having to leave and go back through security?

Gee, with kids that little I don't think there is a way you could do it without exiting security.
