Does anyone know how to reserve a cart for 4 adults to connect from arrival gate to connecting gate across the airport? We cannot walk long distance.

You have to request wheelchair service from your airline.

Flying Dublin to Charlotte and Charlotte to Cancun on 24th Oct ESTA approved, preclearence will be done in Dublin. In charlotte once off plane whats the process?, must bags be claimed and rechecked?,must we go through immagration, security etc?. The layover time will be 5 hours approx. On the way back its Cancun-Philadelphia-Dublin. Any thoughs would be appreciated.

In Charlotte all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will go through Mexican immigration and customs when you get to Cancun. On the way back, in Philadelphia you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Thank you for your reply, very helpful.

Hi, In December I am landing in CLT from PUJ at 8:10PM and have a flight leaving CLT for BUF at 10:15PM. Is this enough time?

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

Next week I arrive in CLT at 3:39pm and leave for BCN (Barcelona) at 4:45pm. I know customs is on the other end, so is that enough time to get from gate to gate?

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

What is the average time it takes to walk from an arrival gate to a departure date in CLT? Arrivng on Piedmont Airlines dbs US Airways Express and departing on US Airways.

You can walk between any two gates in Charlotte in about 15 minutes.

Planning a flight from WAS to CAN (Mexico) via Charlotte AP. Is 1H 12m layover good to go? 3 pax with US VISA. Thanks

CAN is in China. WAS is a city code for Washington DC. Are you going to Cancun? That's CUN. If you're going from Washington DC to Cancun with a connection in Charlotte, yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in Charlotte is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I have a connection flight from Montreal Canada an only have 1 hour 22 minutes between flights. Do I need to claiim my checked baggage. Also do I need to recheck in at the gate of ticket counter

What airport are you connecting at? Did you purchase your tickets together or separately? What is your final destination? What airline are you flying?

My flight is from Montreal to Charlotte connecting to St Maarten. The tickets were purchased together with American Airlines but we are flying with US air.

Then that should be enough time. You will preclear US immigration and customs in Montreal. All you have to do in Charlotte is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Never Flown- Procedure from Charlotte To San Francisco
    Feb 8, 2015
Hello. Ive never been on a plane before. Just wondering what I should expect or do for a non-stop flight from charlotte to San Francisco on AA. I Haven't actually booked it yet..just trying to get a feel for what to expect. Thanks

Note that that flight will be operated by US Airways. You will be able to check-in online at 24 hours before your flight and print off your boarding pass at home. If you want to check a bag you will have to pay a checked bag fee, if you want to carry on a bag it will have to fit in the airline's required dimensions. You will have to go through security before the flight. There will be food for sale on the plane. Do you have any more specific questions?

  • how long to get thru immigration/customs?
    Oct 24, 2014
I am flying into charlotte douglas airport @ 6:30pm from jamaica Jan 1st. I will have 1 hour & 10 minutes to get thru customs/immigration to make my flight to Indianapolis, an hour enough time to get through security & customs/immegration?? thanks for any advise

That is 20 minutes below the minimum International->Domestic connection time. It's possible you will make it but it leaves very little time to spare. There is one later flight to IND from CLT if you miss your connection. You could call US Airways and ask to be rebooked on it or you could try the connection you have and if you miss it, hope there's empty seats on the later flight.

You won't have to pay a second checked bag fee in Charlotte.

We are transferring from a London-US international flight to a US domestic flight. Is 2.5hours adequate for US immigration, baggage collection and rechecking in, which I assume we will have to do? Any advice on making this as efficient as possible?

Yes, 2.5 hours should be plenty of time. CLT is a very simple airport, just follow the signs.

My concern isn't the "complication" of the airport, it's stuff like US immigration. Sometimes there are terrible delays, and the bags take a while....
