Medical Facilities
Defibrillators are available in several locations, which are easily accessible from any point in the airport. These units are in cabinets directly linked to the City of Chicago's emergency medical services. For more information, call: +1 773 462 SAVE.
UIC Medical Center: The University of Illinois at Chicago's Medical Center offers emergency treatment/urgent care, occupational medicine, and other services, including X-rays and immunizations. The Medical Center is located in Terminal Two on the upper level. Call 773-894-5100 for more information on their specific services.
Hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mon-Fri.; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
People With Special Needs / Persons With Disabilities at Chicago Midway MDW Airport Getting from one point to another while traveling through an airport can be hectic, especially travelers with disabilities. The Chicago Airport System recognizes these needs and is committed to making passage through our airports as pleasant and convenient as possible.
Wheelchair assistance is available from your airline. Please contact your airline in advance to make special arrangements.
Midway International Airport Terminal Building, a three level facility, is equipped with ADA friendly features. All exterior sidewalks have sloping curb cuts for easy wheelchair access. Also, the terminal building has extra-wide automatic entry doors on both the upper and lower levels. There are also designated areas on the terminal roadways for active loading and unloading of passengers with disabilities. Parking restrictions on the terminal roadways are strictly enforced, therefore please do not park or leave an unattended vehicle in these designated spaces.
Throughout the airport facility, restrooms, elevators, signage, telephones, restaurants, drinking fountains, and diaper changing facilities are in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Elevators:
Elevators located in the terminal building provide access to all passenger levels of the airport complex. All elevators have Braille and raised letters/numerals.
Parking Facilities:
The Midway Parking Garage is adjacent to the terminal building and has designated parking spaces for Motorist with disabilities located near each of the three elevator cores. Passengers should use the center core elevators to reach the third floor to access the pedestrian bridge to the terminal building.
The Economy lots (Blue &Yellow) have designated parking near the entrances of each lot. Free shuttle buses, each equipped with wheelchair lifts provide transportation between the economy lots and the terminal every 15 minutes. Public Transportation/CTA Rapid Transit:
The CTA Orange Line provides service between Midway International Airport and downtown Chicago. The hours of operation are 4:00am to 1:00am. The station is equipped with an elevator to take passengers with mobility impairments to and from the train platform. All stations en route to downtown Chicago are equipped with elevators. Rental Cars:
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz and National rental car agencies provide hand-controlled vehicles for persons with mobility impairments. Agencies request notification 2-3 days prior to renting a car with adaptive equipment.
Restaurants:
All entrances to restaurants located in the airport are accessible to people using wheelchairs.
Toilet Rooms:
Toilet rooms located throughout the airport have wheelchair accessible facilities. These facilities have larger toilet stalls with grab bars and accessories including sinks with electronic sensors to operate the faucets and lower soap and paper towel dispensers.
Family Assisted Care toilet rooms are also available for passengers that may require the assistance of a family member or care giver. The individual toilet rooms are spacious and provide total privacy.
Service Areas - All of the aircraft boarding gates are equipped with a wheelchair lift. Passengers requiring wheelchair assistance can notify their airline to request wheelchair service to and from the gate areas. Please contact your airline in advance to make special arrangements.
