I am flying LON-ORD-CVG and my port of entry is Chicago. After completing immigration check, should I transfer my bags between flights or would it be checked all the way upto to Cincinnati?
Your bags will be tagged to CVG, but in Chicago you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to your departure terminal and go through security.
My return flight from Tokyo to Toronto goes thru Chicago. If I decide to spend the night in Chicago, will I be able to claim my checked in bags when I arrive in Chicago.
I am flying from ORD to London, but have to buy my ticket to Chicago from STL separately. Will I need to go to baggage claim and go back through security when I get to ORD to make sure that my baggage gets on my London flight?
Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags and go through US Customs, then you will have to take your bags with you on the ATS Train to Terminal 3 if you're flying American to STL or Terminal 1 if you're flying United to STL and re-check your bags, go through security and to your departure gate. I recommend at least 3 hours between flights.
Domestic flight flying out of ohare at 9:05am on Friday. What time should I arrive at the airport?
I recommend a little before 7 AM if you don't have PreCheck.
Hi! I am traveling from Sweden with SAS to ORD, arriving 6.35 pm. I then have a connecting flight (American Airlines) to Seattle leaving at 8.20. Is that enough time? I am not a US citizen and I'm scared I'm gonna be stuck in Chicago because there's so little time to make the connection!
That is very difficult - basically impossible if it's on two separate reservations.
I don't have separate reservations... Will 1hr and 45 mins be enough?
I'm flying out of Pittsburgh to O'hare then to san diego do I need to claim my baggage and turn in back in for my other flight I only have 40mins between flights
If both flights are on the same airline then you don't have to do anything with your bags in Chicago. That is still a difficult connection.
I will be arriving from Toronto at Terminal 2 at 9:27 pm on Dec 23 (Air Canada), then continuing to Taipei from Terminal 5 at 12:20 am on Dec 24. 2 hours and 43 minutes altogether. Will that be enough time, also granted it's Christmas Eve?

Thank you.
Yes, that's enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do is take the ATS Train from T2 to T5 and go through security. Christmas Eve is not a busy travel day.
I will be traveling from Malaysia to Narita airport via ANA. From Narita airport I Will then fly to Chicago o hare ( 5 hour layover at Chicago) with United airline for a connecting flight to Columbus Ohio, also via United airline. Will I have to pick up luggage, go through customs, recheck luggage and then go through security again at Chicago? Or will my luggage be checked all the way through Columbus?
Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the re-check desk then take the ATS Train to Terminal 1 or 2 (B or C gates are in 1, E and F gates are in 2), then go through security and to your departure gate. You have enough time.
I am traveling via Austrian Airlines from Vienna (VIE) to Cleveland (CLE) with a connection in ORD. I have a 3 hour layover in ORD.
My dog Buster will be staying with some friends in Chicago while I am in Cleveland and they will pick him up at ORD.

I have three questions:
Will l have to leave through customs to pick up Buster and take him out to meet my friends?

Will I also have to pick up my luggage when I pick up Buster or will my bags be automatically transferred to my connecting flight?

Will 3 hours be enough time to accomplish this?

Thanks!

YOu will have to go claim your bags to go through customs whether you are connecting or not. You should have enough time.
Our flight is from LAX arrives in ORD at around 5:40am and we have 1 hour and half for connection from ORD to YYZ (Canada). We bought the tickets from United Airlines, and we have checked baggage. We wanna know if 1 1/2 hour is enough for such connection? Will we have to re-check our baggage at ORD? TIA.
All you have to do at ORD is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You don't have to do anything with your baggage. There is no US Customs when leaving the US and you will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs when you get to Toronto.
