It's possible but you'll have to hurry and hope your first flight is on-time. If your tickets were bought on one reservation American may be able to get you your boarding pass for the Etihad flight at your origination. Yes, you will have to - Spirit will not transfer your bags to Air Berlin. Plan at least 2 hours for your transfer as Spirit is frequently late.

Yes, they are. (Air Berlin arrivals are in Terminal 5, but departures are in Terminal 3).

Terminals 1 & 2 have a walkway at post-security areas of the departures level - follow signs - you will arrive at your departure terminal T1's upper level. (Only international arrivals at US airports need to go through customs). Both United & Lufthansa are members of the Star Alliance - your bags will automatically be transferred. Note: your domestic United flight arrives in T2, your international Lufthansa flight departs from T1 which has Concourses B & C with corresponding gates.

Lufthansa flights leave from Terminal 1, not Terminal 2. If your first flight is on-time and your Lufthansa flight does in fact leave at 10:35 PM you should have enough time.

You will have to change terminals by taking the ATS train from T1 or T2 to T5 for your departure on Swiss. The connection will take you 30-40 minutes so there's very little room for error.

Air Berlin flights depart from Terminal 3. The gate is probably one of the gates at the end of the K concourse but I don't know for sure what gate they use. They don't list it on their website.

Yes, you will claim your bags in immigration, then re-check them with American when you exit customs. Then go upstairs and take the ATS train to T3, then go through security again and go to your gate. Since both of your flights are on American you should get both boarding passes when you check in for your first flight. Immigration has been pretty slow lately so there's a decent chance you'll miss your connection. Hopefully there's another later flight to your final destination that you can be rebooked on if that's the case.
