Im due to arrive in Chicago Terminal 5 at 14.10, preclearance immigration will be done in Dublin. I have a connecting flight to Grand Rapids, MI at 15.50 in Terminal 2. Do I have to collect my baggage and recheck it even though it is all the one booking? And if so will I have time to make my connecting flight?
You won't have to claim your bags if everything is on the same reservation. If the first flight is on Aer Lingus you will arrive in Terminal 5 and just take the ATS Train to Terminal 5 and go through security. If the first flight is on United you just have to go from youra rrival gate to your departure gate.
Thanks so much for your reply. I booked it all with Aer Lingus so it's just the one booking. The first flight is with Aer Lingus and the second one is with United airlines
Will have 30 mins to connect American airline flights. Arriving at terminal 3, G1B and have to get to terminal 3, K10.
Is this going to be a problem or how much time will this take ?
That's enough time if the first flight is on-time, but it leaves no time to spare. Walking between the gates will take about 5-10 minutes.
I'm arriving from Rome on United at 4:15 and connecting to Norfolk at 5:45 in september. Is a hour and a half enough time to make connection?
That is just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Hello, I will land at terminal 2 from Buffalo at 9.59 pm , I have connection to San Francisco at Terminal 1 at 10.50 pm , is that possible? how long will it take between T2 - T1 ? I don't know the gate yet
Thank you for your help
If both flights are on United/United Express that is enough time. There is a walkway inside security from T2 to T1.
We are flying on United into ORD and then flying to LHR on American. We have separate tickets for the flights and need to meet up with my sister to drop off my boys and pick up her daughter. We have 2 1/2 hours.

Then on the way home, we fly American from London into ORD and fly out on Delta. Again with separate tickets. Again meeting up with my sister and trading kids. This time we have only 2 hours and 15 min. Can you advise on how to be most efficient? Will we need to take our luggage all the way back to Terminal 2 to check it on Delta or can we check it after customs in Terminal 5? Thanks.
On the way to London you should have just enough time. On the way back that will be difficult because you will have to transfer your bags yourself to Delta in Terminal 2 on the ATS Train after clearing Immigration and Customs.
How long will it take to get from Terminal 5 (Aer Lingus international flight) to Terminal 2 (Delta internal flight)? Thanks
If you have to transfer bags, at least an hour, but the actual time between terminals is about 15 minutes.
I do have a transfer bag. My first flight is international from London, via Dublin to Chicago) arriving at 18:15 and my second internal flight from Chicago to Kansas is at 20:30. Is that enough time?
I m flying from New York to Chicago with AA, and connecting flight with JAL to Tokyo. The first flight from New York to Chicago changed and left me only 44 mins layover at Chicago. Is it enough for us to transfer? Thanks
Yes, that's still possible. Both flights will be on the H/K concourse.
How long does it take to walk from gate G17 to H10 terminal 3. Only have 40 minutes between flights . Thank you
It takes 5-10 minutes.
P.S. We are checking luggage in Greece and the travel agent told us that he 100% ensured that our suitcases get collected by us in Toronto-final destination. But anywhere i looked on the net people say you have to claim it and recheck it at O'hare when you have a transit, no matter what airline no matter if it's prebooked as one ticket with airlines that cooperate. If it's an international flight you have to claim and recheck...wich means probably 2 hours are not enough..?..
Thank you very very much
Yes, your travel agent is completely wrong. You will have to claim your bags to go through US Customs in Chicago, then re-check them at the re-check desk. 2 hours still is doable.
Hello, my husband and i are flying from Greece to Toronto with corresponding flights in between, through Munich and Chicago. I am a Canadian citizen, my husbund is not. When in O'hare is 2 hours -time enough between our corresponding flights?? Which check points do we have to go through?? We arrive with United and we transit to Air Canada.. Thank you
You will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to Terminal 2 and go through security. Your husband will need ESTA if he is a Greek citizen, if he is not he will need whatever other authorization his nationality needs to enter the US.
