I'm flying Lufthansa from Frankfurt (FRA) to ORD, and conncting to a United flight to Fargo (FAR). The booking is all one ticket with a 1hr40m layover in ORD, is that enough time to make the connection? the other flight option is for a 5hr layover and I'd rather not do that if I don't need to

Will I need to claim all my bags, clear customs, exit the airport and then recheck them with United and go through all the security lines again? How long can I expect to spend doing that?

How far are the terminals that I will be arriving from and departing from and how long will it take to go between them?
Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to Terminal 1 or 2, go through security and to your departure gate. You have barely enough time with the 100 minute connection if everything goes smoothly.

I Have 90 minutes layover in Chicago terminal 5 and departing to montreal T1. Is that enough?
do I have to go through immigration in chicago and get my luggage and check in again for the next flight?
Where are you flying into Chicago from and on what airline?
Shangai anc both flight are united
Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to your departure terminal (either 1 or 2) then go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Hi there. We flying from GRR to ORD on United. We arrive in ORD at 3:13pm. We have a totally separate ticket for a flight leaving ORD at 5:25pm on All Nippon to Tokyo Haneda Airport. We're not sure what procedure we have to go through. We have checked bags. We assume we pick up bags from a baggage carousel, then take them over to the international flight check-in in Terminal 1? Not sure how far away baggage carousels are, or how far the international flight check-in is. Is 2 hours enough time for this? Thanks!
The check in is just upstairs from the baggage claim. The ANA check in desk is all the way to the right in Terminal 1 as you enter. You can also show your ANA confirmation to the United Agent in Grand Rapids and they might be able to check your bags through to Tokyo for you. You have enough time.
I bought a ticket, from BOSTON to Los Angeles, via ORD. I will arrive at ORD by AA252 (BOS--ORD), and I have a connecting flight, AA1358 (ORD--LAX) on same day. The stop duration is only about ONE hour. I want to get my boarding pass JUST in Concourse H or K. I am wondering, is there any self-check in (Kiosk) in Concourse H or K ? Thanks a lot! Lee
Yes, there is, but you can also check in online or on your smartphone without even stopping at a kiosk.
I hold a Chinese passport travelling from Ottawa, ON to ORD, (valid Canadian VISA and U.S VISA) then to NRT in Japan. I don't have baggage to check, do I have to go through custom in Chicago or in Ottawa? Is 57m enough for me? Thanks
You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Ottawa. If both flights are on the same reservation all you have to do in Chicago is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Thank you very much!
I'm arriving via United and want to me up with a co-worker who will be arriving later via American. Is there a way for me to get to her terminal after picking up my baggage?
Yes, you can walk along the curbfront on the lower level or go into the tunnel under the parking garage where the CTA station is and then follow the tunnels to Terminal 3.
My wife and I are traveling MSP to ORD, then ORD to YQB. We have to travel from Terminal 1 B7 to Terminal 2 F24, layover is 1hour 40min. I have two questions - first we would have to get our luggage prior to going thru security at terminal 2 I assume? and would that be enough time to get through security to our connecting flight?
EDIT: Flying United
You don't have to go through security. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are connected by a walkway inside security. You have plenty of time.
Is one hour enough to make a United MSP connection to Lufthansa FRA one !
Yes, all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 1.
Thank you ZAP, very kind of you ,I was worried .
My daughter will be coming back from a travel abroad program on Nippon airlines. Her flight is scheduled to land at 7:30am. We have booked her on a domestic flight home to NYC on United for 10:30am.

Will this allow her enough time to get her checked bag, go through customs, recheck her bag and make it to the gate? In a perfect world the flight would come in and depart from terminal 1 but i am guessing it will arrive terminal 5 and depart terminal 1.

I'm just a little worried that customs and going through security will take longer than she has.

Yes, that should be plenty of time. She will absolutely arrive in Terminal 5 as it is the only Terminal with immigration and customs facilities.
I have a 34 minute connect time arriving at ORD at 9:20 AM; Departing to Moline at 9:54 AM. Just a carry on. Assuming the inbound is on time, will I make it? Possible change in Terminals?
What airlines are you flying? Where are you coming from?
Sorry Zap....I left out crucial information. Flying American out of PVD.
Both flights are in Terminal 3. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time.
