I am flying from Fort Wayne to Chicago on AA and from Chicago to Montreal on Air Canada. I have to reclaim my bag, go through security/immigration and switch terminals from 3 to 2. Where do I go to reclaim and recheck my bag and will I have enough time with 2hrs?

I have 55 minutes to get from Gate F to Gate C. What is the fastest route? Do I have go through security ?

The F concourse and C concourse are connected inside security by a walkway and then an underground tunnel. It will be about a 15 minute walk.

Flying in from Quebec, Montreal with less than 45 minutes to catch our connecting flight to Japan. Luggage booked thru - will this be enough time

Yes, that should be enough time. Both gates will be connected inside security and you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal.

Flying from Vancouver to Chicago then Chicago to Copenhagen with a 1hr50min layover. Trying to only have carryon luggage. What will the process be?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Vancouver. Your arrival into ORD will be like a domestic flight. If you purchased both of your tickets together, you will just have to exit your arrival terminal (Terminal 1 if you are flying United), then take the ATS Train to Terminal 5 (assuming you are flying SAS to Copenhagen), then go through security. 1 hr 50 minutes is plenty of time.

Thank you. I did purchase both tickets together. If I was to check a bag in Vancouver, would it go straight through to Copenhagen or do I have to pick it up in Chicago and recheck it?

United airlines is allowing me to book a flight from ACY to ORD connecting ORD to HKG with a 55 minute time to connect. If this is not enough I am thinking the airline will not allow me to book it. My luggage will go through to HKG, but will I need to get rescreened? is this enough time?

All you need to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will likely arrive in Terminal 2 and you will depart from Terminal 1. However, they are connected inside security by a walkway. 55 minutes is enough time.

I'm flying from Manchester uk to Chicago for a connection onto Orlando with a 3 hour stop over, do I reclaim my bags when in Chicago to check in again for Orlando ? Flights are all with AA. My first connecting flights so any help would be great thanks !

You will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check them at the transfer desk, then you will go up to the ATS train and take it to Terminal 3 (one stop) and then go through security. You should have plenty of time.

  • 1h 50 min enough to connect from terminal 1 to terminal 3?

I land in Chicago from Ottawa in terminal 1 with UA airlines and fly with the same airline to San Francisco from Terminal 3. Is 1h and 50 min enough? Thanks!

You have your terminals incorrect. United does not use Terminal 3. Your flight to Ottawa will arrive in Terminal 1 or 2 and your flight to San Francisco will leave from Terminal 1. Terminal 1 and 2 are connected inside security by a walkway. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Ottawa. You should have plenty of time.

will be flying on UA from MBJ connecting at Ohare, connecting on UA to MLI. is 1.5 hours enough time?

Yes, 1.5 hours should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go up 2 levels to the ATS train and take the ATS train to your departure terminal. Your flight to Moline may depart from either Terminal 1 (E or F gates) or Terminal 1 (B or C gates).

    Thanks for the info!

  • Will I make this Dublin flight?

Wondering if it looks possible to make this connection? From Den to ORD, change planes (assuming terminal 5) in 1 hr, 20 min to get on flight to Dublin

Yes that should be enough time. If your flight to Dublin is on Aer Lingus it will leave from T5. If it is on American it will leave from T3.

Hi flying from Toronto on AC and transferring to UA at Ohare then continuing on to Fort Lauderdale. I only have a 45 minute layover at Ohare. Will I make my connection from AC to UA in time?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. T2 where you arrive is connected to T1 where you will depart inside security by a walkway.

Hi, My friend arriving to Terminal 5 and having connecting flight in Terminal 3. Is it possible for me to meet him, which I dont have any flight tickets.

Yes, he will be outside security when he exits customs in T5. You could meet him there and accompany him to the entrance of security in T3.

Can we still walk between these terminals without going thru security ? I'm flying United domestic but have AA lounge membership so would like to wait in there. Will I be able?

Yes, you can. There is a walkway inside security between the three terminals.

I am flying with Qatar airways on Oct 30. Got their email and they changed terminal for T3 to T5. I will arriving with AA at 19:10 on T3 and have to connect with Qatar on 20:25 from T5...bought the tickets together so I assume no baggage claim required...but is 75 mins enough?

Yes, that is enough time to take the ATS train between T3 and T5 and go through security. However, if you arrive in the G concourse you could also take their new shuttle bus which will run inside security - http://www.qatarairways.com/us/en/travel-alerts.page

Thanks alot for your reply... @ZAP

My flight #111 from Rome to Chicago is delayed. Original arrival time was 3:00pm with connecting flight #2409 departing at 5:50pm. The Rome flight is now arriving Chicago at 4:45. Will I have time to clear customs, rebook bag and get to the 5:50 flight?

It will be difficult, but I suppose it's possible. You didn't provide any information on what airlines you are flying.

  • I will arrive from ANA at terminal 5, how can I walk to terminal 1

I have about 2 hours connection time, is that enough?

After you clear customs and re-check your bags at the transfer desk. You will go up two levels to the ATS train (follow the signs to Terminal 1). Then you will take the ATS Train 3 stops to Terminal 1. 2 hours should be enough time for your transfer.
