Do they arrive & depart from the same terminal?

Yes, all Domestic American flights arrive in T3 and all American Eagle flights depart from T3.

I have 30 minutes at Ohare to make a connection from American to American Eagle airlines. Is this even possible?

Yes, it is possible. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Terminal 3.

    thank you

My flight departs from Detroit (DTW) to Chicago O'Hare flight number American Airline 4230 arrives Chicago at 6:20 pm on Sunday the 19th of October. I have an international flight departing from ORD at 20:45 pm EY0150 @ Terminal 5. Will i have enough time to make it ? Can i also check in my luggage in DTW direct to AUH ? thanks

Yes, If you purchased both tickets on one reservation your baggage will be checked direct to Abu Dhabi in Detroit. You will have plenty of time. All you have to do is take the ATS Train from T3 to T5, get your Etihad boarding pass, and go through security. If you purchased two separate tickets you will have to claim your bags from American first. You should still have enough time.

Hi, I will be flying in from LGA on American to catch a flight to SNA on American and am wondering if I will be in the same terminal when I arrive and when I depart. I have about 45 minutes in between flights, but thought I would be ok since they are the same airline. I think that I will be in Terminal 3 for both - but my flight is in 2 weeks so there isn't any information yet. I have only done one connecting flight before in my life, so a little nervous!

Yes, both flights will be in Terminal 3. You should be OK as long as your first flight is on-time.

  • 1:20hr layover long enough?
    Oct 17, 2014
I have a 1hr 20min layover coming in with Lufthansa from Frankfurt and continuing to San Diego with United. If Lufthansa flight is on time, will I have enough time to go through immigration, claim my bag, check it in again and reach my flight?

That is 10 minutes below the minimum connection time, but you still have a good chance of making your connection.

Thanks for your answer. In the end, I decided to rebook my incoming flight to EWR with a 2.5hr layouver. It was free, I saved some money on fare cost and it gives me some peace of mind.

  • can i catch my connection

I arrive into O'hare airport at 6 pm from a local flight from DTW and i have an international flight on Etihad to Abu Dhabi (YUZ) at 8:45 take off. Will i have sufficient time to catch my flight ? Can i checkin my luggage straight to Abu Dhabi from Detroit ?

What airline are you flying from Detroit? Did you purchase two tickets separately or did you purchase one ticket from Detroit to Abu Dhabi.

  • Is 40 mins connection at ORD enough?
    Oct 14, 2014
Flying FLL to ORD and then 40 mins later on to LHR, all AA flights. Will I make it? Same terminal I think but I am at the back of the plane, which will not help.

If your first flight is on-time you will be OK, but yes, you are right, not much time to spare for delays.

Thanks- will get my running gear on...

I am flying in from Toronto on Air Canada arriving at 8:35 am and have 1 hour layover. Catching American Eagle flight to St Louis at Terminal : T3 Gate : L6A . Do I have enough time to make this connection

Air Canada flights arrive in Terminal 2. Even if you are in fact on a United flight that arrives in Terminal 1, all three terminals are connected by walkways inside security. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time. Be sure to check-in online for your AA flight before you leave Toronto.

  • enough time?
    Oct 10, 2014
We are flying from Toronto to O! Hare on United to treminal 2 and we have a conecting flight to Tokyo in 1.30 from terminal 1. Do we have to go again throw a customs and check are bags in again?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. T1 and T2 are connected inside security by a walkway. You should have plenty of time.

We fly into Chicago 4 hours before going to Tampa. Do we have to go collect bags customs ect ect. Tickets purchased together. Never done connecting flights before. Got 4 kids in tow. Just keep seeing Home Alone running through O Hare. ;)

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk. Then you will take the ATS Train to your departure terminal - Terminal 3 if you flight to Tampa is on American and Terminal 1 if it is on United. 4 Hours should be more than enough time.

    Thanks for that. Much appreciated.

I will be landing from Hawai (United Airlines) terminal 2 and connecting on a flight to Canada, Terminal 1. Is 1 hour enough to get from terminal 2 to 1. Thank you

I think you have your terminals backwards, a United flight from Hawaii would arrive in Terminal 1. Regardless, T1 and T2 are connected inside security by a walkway so an hour should be plenty of time.

You're right...1 and 2 is the right order. Thanks for the quick response !!!

Im traviling from Denver to Chicago by AA and than to Qatar by Qatar air line on the same terminal three do i need to pick up my bags again when arriving to chicago airport

If your tickets were bought together then no, your bags will be checked through to Doha and you won't have to collect them in ORD. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • 1 hour 50 mins
    Oct 6, 2014
Next Wednesday we have a flight LHR-ORD-BNA. We land in T5 and will need to clear immigration and customer before crossing to T3 for the second leg. Is 1 hour 50 minutes ample time or will we be rushing? How do we cross from T5 to T3 and what happens to our bags?

Customs, not customer. Stupid predictive text!

You will claim your bags after you go through US Immigration and before you go through US Customs. After customs you can immediately re-check your bags with American at the transfer desk. Then you will go up 2 levels to the ATS train and take it one stop to T3. Then you will go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

  • T5 to T1

I will land via emirates T5 at 3.35 p.m. After go thru customs I have to connect UA TO Milwaukee at T1 for 6.25 p.m. Do I hv enough time? After customs, do I hv to drag my bags on to the ATS to T1 or is there a UA bag drop off area after customs?

If you purchased tickets together your bags should be tagged through to MKE in your origin and you will be able to use the re-check desk in T5. However, if you purchased separate tickets, you will have to drag them on the ATS to T1 and pay a checked bag fee. Also, most Milwaukee flights leave from T2, so be sure to check the monitors. if you are able to re-check your bags in T5, then you can take the ATS directly to T2 if your departure gate starts with E or F.

Coming into Chicago T5 from Manchester UK then T3 onto Indianapolis. How long do I allow for transfer?

    Sorry from London not Manchester

The minimum connection time is 90 minutes but I would prefer to have 2 hours.
