ConnectionsApr 27, 201211How can I get from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 and how long does it take? Thanks for your assistancePatiNashposted on Fri, Apr 27[ Reply ][ Like ]T5 with Concourse M is the International Terminal; all international arrivals, with the exception of flights from airports with border preclearance, are handled at Terminal 5. After arrival at T5 you need to go through passport check, pick up your bags, go through customs clearance and then re-check-in your bag. Then proceed up one level ATS level (above Federal inspection) to catch the ATS shuttle train which runs every few minutes between the International & domestic terminal 3. From arrival at T5 to arrival at T3 count on 50-65 mins. Note that Trminal 3 has Concourses G, H, K & L with corresponding gates (i.e., G21) - On arrival at ORD, look at the overhead screens to find your connecting flight and gate number.frapr12posted on Fri, Apr 271 person likes this post [ Like ]

Ask for QestionApr 25, 201210Next month (May 17.) I will fly from Frankfurt to Dayton (OH).Can you tell me, please, what can I do if: thanks to delayed arrival, or large cue in front of pasport checking officer, certain time needed for transfer from T5 to T2 (I´m not familiarized with airport O Hare) or any other reasons, I ´ll (without my own fault) miss my plane to Dayton. For transfer from T5 to T2I have only 85 minutes. Flight ticket is valid only for actual date. Can somebody from airport staff help me? Thanks.Landposted on Wed, Apr 25While nobody can give you assurance of a serious delay in flight arrival, or unusual delays at Customs clearance, you have a high chance of making your transfer easily within 85 mins with time to spare. This is what you need to do at ORD: 1. On arrival, check the overhead screens to find your flight number, gate & departure time. 2. All international arrivals need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tags issued at FRA should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). This takes normally 35-45 mins. 3. Thereafter, proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System where you can easily connect to terminals 2 for your domestic flight. The free ATS shuttle train running every few minutes can take you there. Just follow signs. NOTE: Terminal 2 has Concourses E & F with corresponding gates.weapr12posted on Wed, Apr 25

1.5 hours at ohareApr 23, 201210I'm flying into Chicago (12 : 55 pm) from India and catching a connecting flight on to LA The whole trip was booked as one ticket, all on one airline (British Airways /Though the operating airline for heathrow-ord-lax is American Airlines). As I hear I will need to land in Chicago through passport control, collect my checked bag and go through customs, wait in line, re-check my bag, wait in line and then go through security And switch terminals in between . I have 1 hours 25 minutes departure-departure between my flights at O Hare . Is the time enough . If i miss my connection will AA/BA book me on the next flight . Should i book disability assistance will that be of any help to make it on timenegcreepposted on Sun, Apr 221. Arriving at the International Terminal 5 at ORD, and after you have re-checked in your bags and gone through customs clearance (the process takes 35-45 mins) - you need to proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System and take the ATS train to your connecting Terminal 3, which runs every few mins. Terminal 3 has Concourses G, H, K & L with corresponding gates (i.e., E15). The ticket & ORD's overhead screens will tell you which gate you need. While 85 mins would be sufficient, you may still want to opt for disability assistance.moapr12posted on Mon, Apr 23

ConnectionsApr 20, 201211We are flying Winnipeg Canada to Chicago then Houston then Belize- all United Airlines. We will go through US customs in Winnipeg. Have never been in Chicago airport so am wondering about making our connection. We have almost and hour and a 1/2. Also is there any way to find out the gate number and terminal before leaving- it's not on our e-ticket? Thanks!KCposted on Fri, Apr 201 person likes this post [ Like ]1. At ORD, United uses Terminals 1, 2 & international T5 (so it's either T1 with B & C gates or T2 with E & F gates for your arrival. T1 & T2 are connected at their gate areas. 2. At IAH United uses Terminals A, C & E - TE. The above-ground TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security. If arriving at gates C29-45 and transferring to TE you can walk towards gates C14-24 & proceed straight on to TE. For more details visit www.ifly.com/iah or www.ifly.com/ord and open "Terminal Map", scroll down & you get terminal details and transfer options.frapr12posted on Fri, Apr 20

Connecting timeApr 15, 201212I have a 43 minute connection, landing at Terminal 2, Concourse F and connecting to a flight to Vancouver out of Terminal 1 Concourse C. I walk fast, but think I will likely need more time.KC Coloradoposted on Sun, Apr 152 people like this post [ Like ]Option 1: Walking from T2 to T1 -Note that all gate areas of all terminals are not connected, but the secured area of the Departures level, has, right after you walk from gate F8 past gate F1, at right end a connector to T1. At T1 you will arrive again in the secured area, where you should proceed to closeby gate B6, walk past gate B8 (at right), take walkway to C gates, turn left to gate C15. Option 2: a pedestrian tunnel connects T1 & T2 - you need to go through secuty check at T1. No time to waste!sunapr12posted on Sun, Apr 15

LAX to UK via ORDApr 11, 201210Flying AA, arriving from LAX with 1 hr 30 to connect to a flight to the UK. No mobility problems, is it sufficient time? I assume I don't need to do anything with luggage or customs?JAposted on Tue, Apr 10Make sure at LAX that your bags are being transported by AA (inquire at AA desk or online) to your UK (British Airlines?) flight. Your bags need to have all 3 Airport codes on their tags. At ORD, you may arrive at Terminal 3 and will depart from Terminal 5. The ATS shuttle train will take you there. You have enough time.weapr12posted on Wed, Apr 11

Time CrunchApr 11, 201210Arriving 4/13 at terminal 1 from Houston and connecting flight to Fort Wayne is in terminal 2 - 48 minutes. Enough time??? Suggestions?Skeeterposted on Tue, Apr 10Note that T1 at ORD has concourses B & C with corresponding gates; while Terminal 2 has Concourses E& F. A pedestrian tunnel connects both T1 & T2 (but you need to go through security check again. 1 hour layover enoughApr 12, 201230I will be taking United Airlines from Vancouver to Chicago. With 1 hour layover. And then from Chicago to Baltimore. Will I have enough time from gate to gate given only 1 hour layover?***posted on Thu, Apr 5Vancouver, BC (Canada) So it would be Canada --> Chicago --> Baltimore***posted on Thu, Apr 51. Make sure to use the U.S. customs clearance at Vancouver - you save time at ORD. 2. United uses both Terminals 1 & 2 for domestic flights. T1 & T2 are connected at their gate areas. T1 has Concourse B (gates B1-22) and Concourse C (gates C1-32); T2 has Concourse E (gates E1-15) and Concourse F (gates F1-14). You have enough time for transfer.PilotJoeposted on Fri, Apr 6

enough time to switch flightsApr 5, 201222Hi, I am arriving at 6.00PM (British airways flight from London) at Terminal 5. I need to take United airlines flight to Dayton at 8:00PM. Is 2 hours enough to complete immigration, customs and board the domestic flight?VVposted on Thu, Apr 51 person likes this post [ Like ]1. When checking in at London make sure British is transferring bags at ORD to connecting United flight - not all airlines do (in which case you would have to take your bag to your connecting terminal and re-check it in there; also make sure bag tags have all 3 airport codes). 2. Your departing terminal would be either T1 or T2 - T1 has Concourses B & C with corresponding gates (i.e., C-32); T2 has Concourses E & F with corresponding gates. Look at your ticket and on arrival at ORD at the overhead screen to find your connecting gate number. 3. On arrival you go through passport control, pick up your bag, go through customs clearance & re-check-in your bag (35-45 mins). Thereafter proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System and take the ATS train, running every few mins. to either T1 or T2. You have enough time.thapr12posted on Thu, Apr 51 person likes this post [ Like ]

enough timeApr 5, 201211Arrive American Air Terminal 3, transfer to United Terminal 1 w/ a 1:02 hour arrival/departure layover. Walk moderately slow. Is this sufficient time?DRposted on Wed, Apr 4At ATL the ATS shuttle train runs every few minutes - it makes its loop run counter clockwise, starting at T5 (T1 is the last stop) - the full loop takes 30 mins. On arrival at T3 look for the ATS train sign. Note that T1 has Concourses B& C with corresponding gates (i.e., B22; C1) - Look at your ticket and on arrival at overhead screens to find your connecting gate number; then follow signs. You should have enough time.thapr12posted on Thu, Apr 51 person likes this post [ Like ]

enough time to switch flights?Apr 3, 201240I arrive at O'Hare 5:20p (Skywest Airlines dba United Express) and my flight out is 6:00p (United Airlines) - should all be contained within T2, correct? Is 40 minutes cutting it too close? I didn't think so if it's the same terminal, but it does make one nervous...KAposted on Mon, Apr 2I'm going from Indianapolis to O'Hare at 5:29 pm on May 2 (United). I then have to go to Frankfurt (United) at 6:26 pm with a layover of 57 mins. Is this enough time to board? Thanks. I'm NERVOUS.DMposted on Mon, Apr 2Thanks... I guess? Time for switching flights?Mar 31, 201210My daughter is traveling from MSP to Chicago on Sunday and has just under a 2 hour layover there before flying out to Amsterdam. Sufficient time? Is it correct that all international flights go out of T5?ALDposted on Fri, Mar 301. Chicago O'Hare Airport has 4 passenger terminals - T1, T2, T3 & T5, arranged in a semi-circle (T1, T2 & T3 are domestic terminals connected to each other at their gate areas). T5 with Concourse M is the International Terminal; all international arrivals, with the exception of flights from airports with border pre-clearance, are handled at Terminal 5. Departures and arrivals at ORD depend on airlines taken. 2. The ATS shuttle train runs every few mins between the terminal - a full loop takes about 30 mins. 2 hours is plenty of time for transfer. On arrival, she needs to look at the overhead screens to find her airline, flight number & departure gate; then follow signs.samar12posted on Sat, Mar 31

do i have sufficient time ?Apr 4, 201220hello, i will reaching ord on 3 may at 7.30, terminal 5. them i have to go to terminal 3 as i hav to go to dallas. since i am travelling for the first time i have to go through immigration procrdure as well. i have 3 hours waiting time for my connecting plane..now could you plz tell is it enuf time for all the procedure to be done in the airport??? and at which terminal custom clearance and immigration procedure will be done???meghaposted on Thu, Mar 291. First let me assure you that you have plenty of time - just make sure to be at your connecting gate are no later than 30 mins before scheduled flight. 3. Make sure when checking in at your original airport that your airline will transfer your bags to the connecting airline - not all airlines do that, in which case you would need to take along your bags and check them in at Terminal 3. Also make sure your bags are properly tagged with all three airport codes. 3. As an international arrival, you you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag. 4. Thereafter, to get from the International Terminal 5 to the domestic Terminal 3: proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System and tae the free shuttle train to Terminal 3, taking a few minutes only.thmar12posted on Thu, Mar 29I am an American citizen and every time I have flown internationally upon arriving at the 1st US airport, I have always had to retrieve my luggage and go through security check and customs and check my baggage back in to continue my scheduled flights. (Even when all my flights are with the same airline) If you flights are on time you should have no problem doing this and getting to your next gate within 1 1/2 - 2 hours)HRposted on Wed, Apr 4
