Time for switching flights?Mar 31, 201210My daughter is traveling from MSP to Chicago on Sunday and has just under a 2 hour layover there before flying out to Amsterdam. Sufficient time? Is it correct that all international flights go out of T5?ALDposted on Fri, Mar 301. Chicago O'Hare Airport has 4 passenger terminals - T1, T2, T3 & T5, arranged in a semi-circle (T1, T2 & T3 are domestic terminals connected to each other at their gate areas). T5 with Concourse M is the International Terminal; all international arrivals, with the exception of flights from airports with border pre-clearance, are handled at Terminal 5. Departures and arrivals at ORD depend on airlines taken. 2. The ATS shuttle train runs every few mins between the terminal - a full loop takes about 30 mins. 2 hours is plenty of time for transfer. On arrival, she needs to look at the overhead screens to find her airline, flight number & departure gate; then follow signs.samar12posted on Sat, Mar 31

do i have sufficient time ?Apr 4, 201220hello, i will reaching ord on 3 may at 7.30, terminal 5. them i have to go to terminal 3 as i hav to go to dallas. since i am travelling for the first time i have to go through immigration procrdure as well. i have 3 hours waiting time for my connecting plane..now could you plz tell is it enuf time for all the procedure to be done in the airport??? and at which terminal custom clearance and immigration procedure will be done???meghaposted on Thu, Mar 291. First let me assure you that you have plenty of time - just make sure to be at your connecting gate are no later than 30 mins before scheduled flight. 3. Make sure when checking in at your original airport that your airline will transfer your bags to the connecting airline - not all airlines do that, in which case you would need to take along your bags and check them in at Terminal 3. Also make sure your bags are properly tagged with all three airport codes. 3. As an international arrival, you you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag. 4. Thereafter, to get from the International Terminal 5 to the domestic Terminal 3: proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System and tae the free shuttle train to Terminal 3, taking a few minutes only.thmar12posted on Thu, Mar 29I am an American citizen and every time I have flown internationally upon arriving at the 1st US airport, I have always had to retrieve my luggage and go through security check and customs and check my baggage back in to continue my scheduled flights. (Even when all my flights are with the same airline) If you flights are on time you should have no problem doing this and getting to your next gate within 1 1/2 - 2 hours)HRposted on Wed, Apr 4

Mar 21, 201210I arrive from Duluth MN at Terminal 1 and have a flight on Aer Lingus from Terminal 5. I heard there was a bus from Concourse C direct to Terminal 5. Where do I get it?KARENVposted on Tue, Mar 20Terminal 5 at ORD is the international terminal - the ATS shuttle train runs from there every few mins making it loop run coutner-clockwise (T1 being the last stop) Between T5's ATS level the and the domestic terminals 1, 2 & 3, the ATS shuttle train runs every few minutes - it makes its loop run counter clockwise (T1 is the last stop). Note that T5 has M gates surrounding the concessions court - gates M12-21, M7-M1, & M8-M11.wemar12posted on Wed, Mar 21

Transit assistanceMar 21, 201220I arrive with flight number EY151 from Abu Dhabi which arrive to T5 and after we continue from T3 to St Louis with AA345. how can i made the transfer, is it necessary to take the luggage from T5 and rechek it at T3? When I came back from St Louis AA 640 to T3 transfer to T5 and depart to Abu Dhabi with EY 150 is it necessary also to take and transfer the luggage?SHposted on Tue, Mar 201. As an international arrival (at Terminal 5) you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). 2. Thereafter, proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System, where you can easily connect to Terminal 3. The free ATS shuttle train running every few minutes can take you there. From arrival gate to departure gate, count on one hour transfer. 3. It is important that you contact Etihad before checking in at Abu Dhabi to make ure that they transfer your bags to your AA flight connection at Terminal 3 - not all airlines do - in which case you would have to take your bag along and re-check it in at Terminal 3.tumar12posted on Tue, Mar 20

I am flying United Airlines from pa to O'hare then flying from O'hare to Houston (IAH)..How do you find out what terminal you will arrive in and what terminal you will depart from?yhposted on Mon, Mar 191. At ORD, you most likely arrive & depart at Terminal 2, with Concourses (gateways) E & F and their corresponding gates. 2. At IAH, United uses Terminals A (TA) (gates A1-30; TB (gates B60-88) & TC (gates C14-45. 3. Look at your ticket to see which gate you arrive at/ depart from.tumar12posted on Tue, Mar 20

Terminal Change - 1 and 2Mar 19, 201210My clients are flying UA and arriving in Terminal 1 and departing 1 hour later in Terminal 2 with UA. They also require wheelchair assistance. Is there enough time for a terminal change?katherineposted on Sun, Mar 18For wheelchair reservation call United. Terminal 1 has Concourses B & C, Terminal 2 has Concourses E & F with corresponding gates. You can also contact ORD at aviation@flychicago.com or call (773) 686 3700 for more information. Not sure if time is enough - F gates are divided and have gates F11A, B & C on the lower level.momar12posted on Mon, Mar 19

Connecting flight to New OrleansMar 16, 201210I am arriving from Abu Dhabi by AA-6008 on Terminal-5 & need to catch up AA-3779 from Terminal-3 for New Orleans. Should I book my luggage for New Orleans or I need to collect it for againg booking for the new destination?Yawar Abbasposted on Thu, Mar 151. As international arrival, you need to go first through passport control, pick up bags, go through customs clearance and recheck-in your bags - taking about 35-50 mins. 2. Since both are AA flights, your bags will automatically be transferred to your connecting gate at T3. 3. Between T5's ATS level the and the domestic terminals 1, 2 & 3, the ATS shuttle train runs every few minutes - it makes its loop run counter clockwise (T1 is the last stop) - the full loop takes at least 30 mins. NOTE: T3 has concourses G, H, K & L: The Upper Level leads to Concourse L to the left with 11 gates, the Y-shaped gateway to Concourses K with gates K1-K20 and Concourse H with gates H3-H18 in the center, and Concourse G with gates G1A-G21 to the left - with gates G13-G17 on the Concourse's lower level - look at your ticket (and an overhead screens on arrival) for your connecting gate number.frmar12posted on Fri, Mar 16

Changing planesMar 15, 201210I have a United flight from OKC to ORD coming in at terminal 2, we are departing Aer Lingus terminal 5, will we have to pick up our bags and go back through security?jwposted on Wed, Mar 141. Only international arrivals need to go through customs clearance procedure. However, on your return from Ireland, use their U.S. customs clearance so you won't have to do it when arriving back at U.S. 2. At ORD, the ATS shuttle train connects domestic and international terminals and takes minutes. (T2 has E & F gates, T5 has M gates - located around the concession court - around the concessions Court - to the right with gates M12-M21, and to the left with gates M7-M1, extending in the center to gates M8-M11 (prepare yourself for long walks from check-in to gates).thmar12posted on Thu, Mar 15

Terminal 2 to Terminal 5Mar 15, 201220Arriving at 9:30 at Terminal 2 on Delta. Connecting flight departs Terminal 5 at 12 noon on Asiana. Is the 2 and a half hours enough time for me to claim my baggage, get to Terminal 5, check in with Asiana, and get through TSA inspection?jwhposted on Wed, Mar 14Unless you are an international arrival (without U.S. pre-clearance from participating Canadian airports) you need not go through passport check, pick up bag, go through customs clearance and re-check-in your bag. Make sure when checking in at your original airport that your bags are properly tagged with all three airport codes so that they will arrive at your end destination. Also make sure Delta transfers to Asiana - not all airlines do. The ATS train runs between Terminal 5 and the domestic terminals every few mins. You have plenty of time.wemar12posted on Wed, Mar 14

Connecting from UA to Swiss AirMar 11, 201210We are arriving into ORD on a domestic United flight from GRB and then departing from T5 on aSwiss Air flight. Will UA transfer the bags toSwiss air for me or do I have to claim from UA and recheck with Swiss?Dougposted on Sat, Mar 10When checking in at Austin Straubel Airport make sure your bags have all three airport codes on their tags. Also inquire there if UA transfers to Swiss Air - not all airlines do, in which case you would have to retrieve your bag at either Terminal 1 or 2 (United serves both - check your ticket - T1 has C & B gates, T2 has E & F gates. The ATS shuttle train connects these terminals.sumar12posted on Sun, Mar 11

picking up dog from Swedish airMar 10, 201210arriving alaska air monday morning and picking up dog from Swedish air early afternoon. How do I get from Alaska terminal to Swedish air baggage?CinLFposted on Fri, Mar 9You arrive at ORD in Terminal 3 - I presume that by 'Swedish air' you mean SAS Scandinavian Airlines, which uses Terminal 5. When entering the Arrivals level of Terminal 5 you may want to go to the information desk to find out where you can pick up your dog. (or call the airline).samar12posted on Sat, Mar 10
