This is my first time flying to Chicago(using American Airlines) and I'd like to know what terminal will I be in once I arrive there?

If you have a domestic flight into ORD, it's Terminal 3.

I am flying into Chicago on United Express/Express Jet and flying out on United Express/Atlantilc southeast. Are these at the same terminal. Flying alone for the first time. Need a little help. Thank you

United & United Express domestic flights are from Terminal 2. The gateway splits in a Y formation between Concourses E & F (gates E1-144 and F1-14 - however gates F11A, B & C, are on the lower level. Check your ticket to see which gate you need. When arriving at ORD, look at the overhead screens - look under "Departures" and find your flight, gate & departure time. Transfer should not take more than 15 mins.

    Thanks a lot

  • Terminal Change or Not?

I'm arriving on UA547 from Toronto Canada to ORD (Chicago O-Hare) and transferring to an ANA flight to Tokyo. Does anyone know if UA547 lands in the same terminal as Terminal 1 (where ANA flight departs) - I'm getting conflicting information. If UA547 lands in Terminal 3 -how do I get from Terminal 3 to 1 quickly? Thanks

    1. International arrivals by United are in Terminal 5 - however, ANA departure flights are from Terminal 1. 2. You will go through U.S. customs pre-clearance at Toronto. At T5's ATS level you catch the ATS shuttle train running every few minutes - last stop is T1.

I have to switch from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 in order to board an International flight. Flying from Orlando to ORD, I have American Airlines which takes me to Terminal 3 but then at Terminal 5, I have to board an American Airlines Flight(Operated by Etihad Airways). Will my check in Luggage be transferred direcly ?? Secondly will I have to go through security check again at Terminal 5 ??

    1. When checking in at Orlando, make sure your bags are properly tagged to show all three airports. 2. Yes, they will be transferred at ORD from T3 to T5. 3. The ATS shuttle train (follow signs) runs every few minutes between International and domestic terminals. Terminal 5's gate areas wrap around concessions court - gates M12-21, gates M8-1 at center, and gates M7-1. 4. No need to go through security again.

If I understand correctly, I can transfer from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 via the ATS shuttle without going through security! GREAT! I have 1 hour 15 minutes. Is that enough time? Are there quick places to eat in terminal 5?

I am arriving Dec. 24th in terminal 2 and only have 1 hour between flights. What is easiest way to Air Choice One's terminal 3?

    1. 12/24 is one of the busiest days at the airports. You need to know exactly where to go; also consider airline delays at this time of the year. The gate areas at T2 & T3 are connected. Terminal 2 has E & F gates, if you arrive at F gates 11A, B or C, you arrive on the lower level, while all other E & F gates are on the upper level. (look at your ticket which should show, i.e., E-14, F2 or F11B, etc.). The ATS train runs every few minutes, but runs counter-clockwise - Terminal 1 being the last stop. Terminal 3 has concourses G, H, K & L - Concourse L to the left with 11 gates, the Y-shaped gateway to Concourses K with gates K1-K20 and Concourse H with gates H3-H18 in the center, and Concourse G with gates G1A-G21 to the left - with gates G13-G17 on the Concourse's lower level.

I'm coming from Philadelphia and arriving through US AIrways in Terminal 2, then heading to Terminal 5 to catch an international Korean airlines flight. Do I have to go through TSA again? Would this be enough time? I have 2 hours before my flight leaves. Thanks!

    1. On arrival at Terminal 2 you need to take the ATS shuttle train (follow signs) to Terminal 5 (train makes its loop counter clockwise, T1 being the last stop. At Terminal 5, where the Concourse wraps around the concession court, you have three gateways: gates M12-21, M7-M1 & M8-M1 - prepare for long walks. The ATS shuttle departs and arrives in the secured area, no need to go through TSA again. 2 hrs. are plenty of time!

I am Flying into ORD from GRB on American Airlines and leaving ORD on LOT Airlines to Warsaw Poland. Do I go through customs at GRB? Will my luggage be transfered by AA or will I have to recheck my luggage and go through customs at ORD? Will one hour fourty min. be enough time? THANKS

    1. Not all airlines offer courtesy transfers; contact your airline to make sure. 2. Only international arrivals go through customs check. 4. You arrive at terminal 3 and depart from terminal 5. You need to take the ATS shuttle train which runs every few minutes (follow signs). You will have long walk to your gate at Concourse M of T5.

I am changing planes for the first time and am a little anxious. I am flying American Airlines and arriving ORD in terminal 3. My next departing flight is within terminal 3. How will I know where to find my next flight? When I arrive will I find my next departing flight on the same level or will I need to go to the upper level? Will I need to go through security again? I have an hour which I assume will give me enough time to find out where I am going.

First you need to look at your ticket to see which gate you arrive at and depart from. That means your ticket should show - for example - G13 (or G-13, or T3-G13), K20, H3, etc. Terminal 3's Upper Level leads to Concourses G, H, K & L: Concourse L to the left with 11 gates, the Y-shaped gateway to Concourses K with gates K1-K20 and Concourse H with gates H3-H18 in the center, and Concourse G with gates G1A-G21 to the left with gates G13-G17 on the Concourse's lower level. You need not go through security again and you have enough time if you know where to go.

  • FF line at ORD?

Does TSA have a faster line for United frequent flyers (100K) at ORD? Thanks.

Could not find a reference - however, you may want to contact United directly.

Yes. They have a designated counter and security line for Elite status customers. However, since it's the hub and often very busy these lines may be faster than the general ticketing and security lines but still take time to get through.
