  • another international connection

Hi. On a Tuesday in mid-June I have a flight arriving from PDX (Portland) at 4:28 p.m. Then I'm going to a flight to CDG (Paris), leaving at 6:05 p.m. I know I'll need to go through international customs at O'Hare – will this time be sufficient? Both flights are booked on United. (The last time I made a similar connection, it was close – the customs area was packed.)

I have a 40 minute connection this summer for a domestic flight (SNA to BUF) on AA. Will that be enough time even if my flight out runs a few minutes late?

That would be barely enough time assuming the first flight is on-time.

  • When to arrive for an A.A. 9:30 AM morning flight on Fri.

Hi, Plan on arriving to the Bus/Shuttle Center at 8:30 AM for a 9:30 AM Flight on A.A. (AA 2370 to Philly) on Friday. Will that be enough time to get through security and to the approriate terminal in time for the Flight?

Yes, that should be enough time. You can check in online for your flight before you leave the house.

  • LHR -ORD- MSY Transfer time ORD T 5 to T 1

We arrive T5 from London (BA) at 145pm on 3 Jun and dept T1 for New Orleans at 357pm (United). Is 2 hour connection time sufficient at this time of day to clear immigration/security and transfer?

That's barely possible. Since you are flying two non-alliance partners is it correct that you purchased two separate tickets? If so that means you will have to take your bags with you on the ATS Train to check them with United in T1.

I am flying to Florianopolis Brazil, but I have connecting flights in Chicago, then São Paulo. Will my luggage be checked through all the way to Florianopolis or will I need to pick it up in São Paulo and recheck it?

Your bags will be tagged to Florianopolis but you will have to claim them to go through Brazilian Customs.

I have a flight from ind to ord that arrives at at 5:40pm in terminal 3, and then I want to catch a flight to Dublin that leaves at 8:00pm from terminal 5. Is that enough time? Do I have to go through security or get bags or anything? Thanks.

also, my tickets were purchased together

If your tickets were purchased together than that is plenty of time. Your bags should be tagged through to DUB. You will have to go through security again in Terminal 5.

    Ok. Thanks!

We are flying United from Manchester,NH arriving at Terminal 2, Concource F and connecting to United flight leaving from Terminal 1, Concource B. We only have 49 min. Traveling w/husband who has a heart condition. Will we have enough time by walking or should we have a wheel chair assist?

    Chicago O'Hare ORD

Assuming he can walk at a normal pace and your flight is on-time, you will have enough time.

Hi I am flying 23 May, Saturday with Austrian air to Chicago o'hare arriving at 13:35, connecting flight to Last Vegas United Airlines departs at 15:55. Is that enough time to get through immigration and get from terminal 5 to 1 (only have hand luggage)?

Yes, that should be plenty of time, especially without checked bags.

    Great thank you!

I've done similar thing. It will be hard to get through immigration check within that time because the line will be so long. I suggest you talk to the flight attendant and see if he/she could let you deplane first or get you a priority pass. The airport staff do have such thing called a priority pass (color labeled indicating level of urgency). The pass will let you through the check point faster. I hope you make it.

What HAN just said is nonsense. First of all, Chicago does not have Priority cards. Secondly you have plenty of time. Finally, there is a special line for people without checked bags, you can take that and save time.

Actually now that you mentioned Chicago doesn't have priority card, I remembered that time I was in LAX. Sorry for the confusion. I meant well.

if the first flight (Austrian) is delayed and I miss the second one(United) - bought as one ticket- do I have to go to a United counter, will they book me on another flight?

could you tell me is 1-stop check for people with hand luggage doing also the immigration procedure or just customs? If I have to do immigration separately should I use the APC or rather cue up at the counter?

There spot for passengers with no checked luggage is clearly marked as you head towards the immigration hall. You go through Immigration and Customs in one step.

  • 1hr 6mins United connection

I'm flying Denver to Chicago, then Chicago to Toronto tomorrow with a 1hr 6min connection. Do you think I'll have to change terminals? Will I make it? Will my bags? Thanks for the help!

What airlines are you flying? Can't answer your question without that info.

Sorry - both flights are with United.

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal 1 and depart from Terminal 1 or 2 (proably 1). Terminals 1 and 2 are connected inside security by a walkway.

  • Is 1h20 enough time to get from T5 to T2?

I'm flying from London and it says my flight gets in at T5 and my connecting flight to Cincinnati is going from T2, an hour and 20 min lay over is that enough time to transfer. I've never had to get a connecting flight before and I'm British so does not being American gonna slow me down to get my connecting flight? Thanks

Is this at JFK? No flights from London arrive in Terminal 5. If you are flying Delta you will both arrive and depart from Terminal 4. 80 minutes is 10 minutes below the minimum recommended time for that connection. It's possible but very difficult.

No it's Chicago and it's with Unites

Oh, OK. Well 1 hr 20 minutes is possible but it's equally hard. You will have to take the AirTrain from T5 to T2 after you re-check your bags. Also take note that your flight to CVG may actually depart from T1, so check the monitors.

  • Traveling from Boise to Harrisburg with 51 min

Hi, I'll be traveling from Boise, ID to Harrisburg, PA on United Airlines with a 51 minute layover at O'Hare. Is that enough time to get from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1?

Yes, that is plenty of time. Both terminals are connected inside security by a walkway and there's a good chance your flight from Boise will arrive into Terminal 1 anyway.

  • Connection Time 1hour 15 mins T1 to T5

Hi, I have a flight from ATW on Thursday landing into T1 at 18.45, my connecting international flight is from T5 to DUB at 20.00. Is approx. 1 hour (depending on time taken to get off flight) sufficient time to make the flight from T1 - T5 including security in T5? My bags will be checked through the whole way. Thanks in advance Freaking out female!!!

That should be enough time. Your flight from ATW will actually likely arrive in T2. Taking the ATS train to T5 takes less than 15 minutes.

thanks my booking says it will land in T1. Hopefully it will leave on time

Information regarding Terminals on those things is frequently wrong. There's about a 75% chance you will arrive in Terminal 2.

  • 40 minutes to make international connection?

We only have a 40 minute layover in Chicago to make our connecting international flight (Mexico). Is that enough time?

What airline or airlines are you flying? Where are you flying from? I can't answer your question without that info.

We are flying American Airlines from Springfield, MO to Chicago, and again taking American from Chicago to Cancun.

Then, yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 3.

Hello i am connecting from Cahrlotte Douglas and stopping for 40mins to connect to a London flight with US airways is that enough time ?

That is enough time if your first flight is on-time, but it leaves no time to spare if there are any delays with your first flight.

Flying United into Gate C30 - shows leaving from D52, cannot locate D on terminal maps

What airport? Is your second flight United too?

yes we are flying into ohare from Harrisburg, Pa - it is our connector to las vegas flying united.

ORD does not have a gate D52, you are probably seeing your arrival gate into Las Vegas. All United gates at ORD are connected inside security.
