Mexico to ORD to CanadaMar 26, 201330Am arriving at O'Hara about 6:20pm from Mexico then taking connecting flight to Canada. Have barely an hour between flights. Don't have terminal information yet but think will be arriving in T5 and have to get to T1. Do we have to go through customs btwn flights or will bags automatically be forwarded through?DMCposted on Mon, Mar 25[ Reply ][ Like ]You will have to go through US immigration, re-check your bags, take the ATS to a different terminal, and then go back through security. I don't think that "barely an hour" is enough time to do all that. I would try to change your ticket (unless there's an earlier flight from Mexico, plan on spending the night in Chicago or maybe connecting somewhere else).ZAPposted on Mon, Mar 25Thanks but seems a bit odd since it was UA who did the booking for us. Any idea if UA will put us up in hotel if we miss the connection, after all they did the booking. No other earlier UA flights available from Mexico, and no later fights from ORD to destination. Doesn't look good.DMCposted on Mon, Mar 25It depends on the reason for the missed connection if UA would pay for the hotel or not. You could get lucky and your first flight might be early or second flight might be delayed. Also, immigration shouldn't be too crowded after 6 as most of the other international flights arrive before then.ZAPposted on Tue, Mar 26

cart assistanceMar 25, 201320arriving on Apr 29 term 2 leaving in term1 .Have about 55 min .enough time Have walking diff.rjoposted on Mon, Mar 25On arrival at ORD, look for the sign for the ATS shuttle train, which runs every few minutes between Terminal 5's ATS level the and domestic terminals 1, 2 & 3 - but will require going through security check at connecting terminal 1.momar13posted on Mon, Mar 25momar's advice is 100% incorrect - you DO NOT have to take the ATS from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 or go through security again. You can walk between the two within the sterile area. However, you may want to request wheelchair service from your airline if you have difficulty walking because it can be kind of along walk.ZAPposted on Mon, Mar 25

Cahnging airlines, from T5 to T3Mar 23, 201310I´ll arrive with SAS to terminal 5 next Thursday evening and have to be on another flight (American Airlines) from terminal 1 h 40 minutes later. Will it be short time or will I have to stress there? Does it usally take long time goingt through security and have the bags?lolenonaposted on Sat, Mar 23As an international arrival at ORD, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag, then proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System (ATS) station and take the train to your connecting terminal. The ATS train runs in the non-sterile part of the terminals - requiring security check before proceeding to connecting gate. Note that Terminal 3 has Concourses G, H, K & L with corresponding gates (i.e., gate G19). Count on at least an hour for customs clearance procedures. You have enough time.samar13posted on Sat, Mar 23

Short Connection LufthansaMar 21, 201320Flying to Munich from Phoenix via ORD on Lufthansa (operated by United) with only a 40 minute layover in Chicago ~ Is that enough time and do I land in the same terminal as I depart in ~ Terminal 1?skposted on Thu, Mar 21If your PHX-ORD flight is also on United you will both arrive and depart from Terminal 1. If your first flight is on time, then yes, it should be enough time.ZAPposted on Thu, Mar 21

Arriving from ManchesterMar 20, 201320We land T5 on AA55 @12.40pm connecting with AA1773 @ 02.15pm (95 mins) for Phoenix. What are our chances of catching the connection? At Manchester, can we ask for our luggage to be throughput, or do we need to recheck it in at O'Hare?***posted on Wed, Mar 20The connection is doable but you will have to hurry. You will have to claim your baggage in immigration in ORD and re-check it with American once you exit customs. There's no way around that. You then have to take the ATS train from T5 to T3 and go back through security.ZAPposted on Wed, Mar 20

GETTING FROM TERMINAL 3 TO TERMINAL 5Mar 18, 201310I will arrive at O'Hare tomorrow at 3:20 p.m. on American Eagle (terminal 3?). I need to catch a flight on Aer Lingus at 7:15 (Terminal 5?). How do I get from one terminal to the other? Will there be enough time to accomplish this? Do I need to recheck my bag?KRposted on Mon, Mar 18Were your tickets bought on the same reservation? If so, then American should be able to transfer your bag to Aer Lingus. Otherwise you will have to claim it in T3 and take it to T5. To get from T3 to T5, you exit security, walk through the ticketing level, and across a pedestrian bridge to the ATS train, then take the train from T3 to T5, where you will get your Aer Lingus boarding pass (if you don't already have one) and go back through security. You have plenty of time, as that should only take an hour or so.ZAPposted on Mon, Mar 18

Are times accurate given the sequester?Mar 19, 201320Are the less than 5 mins wait times accurate for post-TSA cuts?Johnposted on Sun, Mar 10Those things aren't updated very regularly - it really depends on what terminal and what time of day.ZAPposted on Sun, Mar 10

American to Alaska AirlinesFeb 28, 201320I am flying from Flint, Michigan so they're usually smaller airplanes with American Airlines, then switching to Alaska Airlines to go to Seattle, Washington. I have 55 minutes to get to my connecting flight to Seattle via Alaska Airlines. I see they're both in Term 3, is that the case? So I should have enough time to get from point A to B and not have to re go through security? Originally I was under the impression I was switching terminals until I looked at which terminals are with what airlines. Thanks.JKGposted on Wed, Feb 27At ORD you arrive & depart from T3, which has Concourses G, H, K & L with corresponding gates. Look at overhead screens on arrival to find your flight number and gate, then follow signs. You have sufficient transfer time.thfeb13posted on Thu, Feb 28
