I fly Ba (operated by AA) from NY LGA to ORD land at 16.12 T3 and then BA ORD to LHR 17.30 T5, will this be enough time? Do you have to collect bags or do they go straight to next flight. I'm on English passport. Thanks
You just have to take the ATS Train to Terminal 5 and go through security. You have enough time if the flight from New York is on-time.
I am flying home from vacation in Denmark. I leave Denmark and arrive in Ohare at 5:30 (terminal 5 SAS airlines), then I have a connecting flight to DFW at 7:30 (terminal 1 - United). It is all on one ticket through SAS even though United is servicing the domestic portions. Do I have to claim my luggage and clear customs in Ohare? Do I recheck my baggage at Term 5 or take it on the ATS to term 1 to have it rechecked? With a 2 hr window, will I make it?
Yes, in Terminal 5 you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk in Terminal 5, take the ATS to T1 and go through security. You should have enough time.
I have a flight from tokyo to chicago with a connecting domestic flight in 1 1/2 hours. Do i have to claim baggage and go thru customs?
Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to your departure terminal, go through security and to your departure gate.
I am a tad nervous as I coming from Denver and due to land American Airlines terminal 3 and 45 mins later, I am due to leave from Finnair in terminal 5. Will I have enough time to make it?
When do I go through International security, in Chicago or when I land in Paris?
There's no such thing as "international security" However, when you land in Chicago you will have to take the ATS Train from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 and go through security. 45 minutes is very tight. You will go through Schengen Entry Passport Control in Helsinki. If you are flying nonstop from Chicago to Paris then your second flight is also on American and you don't have to go to Terminal 5 and your connection is much easier as you then just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 3.
Thank you Zap for your response. I am flying straight from Chicago to Paris.
Denver to Chicago via American landing at terminal 3? Chicago to Paris via Finnair operated by American Airlines , it doesn't state what terminal.
If I need to go through security again, do I need to pick up my luggage and bring it to the next airline? Security again, darn as I do not think I will make it.
Your flight to Paris will also depart from Terminal 3. The Operated by American part means your flight is NOT on Finnair, it is on American. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Zap, Thank you as I was a tad nervous. I really appreciate your input ion this.
Im due to arrive in Chicago Terminal 5 at 14.10, preclearance immigration will be done in Dublin. I have a connecting flight to Grand Rapids, MI at 15.50 in Terminal 2. Do I have to collect my baggage and recheck it even though it is all the one booking? And if so will I have time to make my connecting flight?
You won't have to claim your bags if everything is on the same reservation. If the first flight is on Aer Lingus you will arrive in Terminal 5 and just take the ATS Train to Terminal 5 and go through security. If the first flight is on United you just have to go from youra rrival gate to your departure gate.
Thanks so much for your reply. I booked it all with Aer Lingus so it's just the one booking. The first flight is with Aer Lingus and the second one is with United airlines
