  • How to get a motorized cart for short connections

We have a 50 minute layover between flights and i'm very concend that (due to weather) it will be even shorter. How can I arrange for a cart transfer to our next gate? There are for of us.

ORD Does not have many carts because the concourses are narrow. If you need wheelchair service you can call your airline. Carts are for the handicapped, not those with short connections.

I'm flying into ORD from Beijing on United. I have a 1hr 34min layover and then I take a connecting flight to St. Louis. All the tickets were bought at the same time. Do you think the layover is long enough? Or should I book a similar flight with a 3 hour layover between flights?

I would book the 3 hours. You'll have to go through security again in Terminal 1 or 2 after you clear customs and re-check your bags, and security at ORD is pretty bad.

A group of us are due to fly into O'Hare at 4:15 from Norfolk. The connecting flight leaves at 4:50 to Madrid, Spain. Is that enough time to get from concourse 3 to 5 and catch our international flight and our luggage make it onboard?

Iberia flights depart from Terminal 3. You don't have to change terminals. You should have just enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Hi, my flight is with AA from Montréal/Canada to Chicago then to NRT/Japan. Do you know If I'll be able to check my baggage in Montréal and pick them up in Narita? The booking was made as a single booking..

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. You don't have to do anything with your bags in Chicago. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 3.

I am traveling from Edinburgh to the USA and have a connection in Chicago. Will 1:20 be enough time to get through customs and catch a connecting flight for Wichita, Ks?

That is 10 minutes shorter than the recommended International to Domestic connection time at ORD and 40 minutes shorter than I recommend.

we are flying from Toronto to Chicago with Air Canada, then flying from Chicago Tokyo win ANA. Will Our bags go directly to Tokyo? or will we have to pick up my luggage in Chicago and check them through to Tokyo?

You will preclear US immigration and customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Chicago is go from your arrival gate in Terminal 2 to your departure gate in terminal 1. They are connected inside security by a walkway

Thanks Zap. I was worried I'd have pick up my luggage in ORD and recheck the luggage to Tokyo. Happy to hear the luggage will go directly from Toronto to Tokyo.

We are flying into O'Hare from Greensboro. We have a 1.5 hour layover before our flight to Tokyo on ANA. Is that enough time for the baggage to be transferred between United and ANA? Is that enough time to walk between gates? Thanks!

Yes, that should be plenty of time if your first flight is on-time. ANA flights depart from Terminal 1.

Flying from Tokyo to Montreal. I have a connecting flight at ORD, arriving T5 and departing T2 with layover of 1h55min. Is it enough time with a NEXUS card?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time.

I will arrive Terminal 5 from Japan with All Nippon Airways at 7:05, pass through all immigration checks and everything and depart from Terminal 1 to San Jose, Costa Rica with United Airlines at 9:05. With 90 mins layover time, will I make it?

That should be enough time if everything is on-time. However, security lines at O'Hare in the morning are really bad, so be prepared for that. If things look really bad, either ask people to go ahead in the line or try to go through security in Terminal 2 and then walk to Terminal 1.

    Thanks!

I will be flying on American from Dayton, OH to ORD, to Tokyo. My connection time at ORD is 41 minutes. Is that enough time to catch my flight to Tokyo?

If your flight is on-time, yes, it's just enough time. All you have to do in ORD is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 3.

Hi, I'm traveling from Philadelphia to Vegas and have a 78 minute layover in Chicago. I land in Chicago at 6:25am on AA and depart for Vegas at 7:43am with UA. I know I can walk through security from one terminal to another if I don't have any checked luggage. However, if I do have checked luggage, is this enough time? Original plan was to have my and my wife's stuff in a checked bag but now it seems as if it would be best to just take carry on luggage. Please advise.

I highly recommend only taking carry-on bags. Security in O'Hare is a mess right now, especially in the morning.

    Thanks ZAP!

Hi. I am travelling from SFO to London, Ontario, Canada through ORD. Not sure where we (family of four) will clear customs and immigration. Is a 1 hour 40 minute layover sufficient?

There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. In ORD on your way to London, ON you just have to go from your arrival gate in Terminal 1 to your departure gate in Terminal 2. They are connected inside security by a walkway. You have enough time.

Coming in from Europe on LOT Polish Air at 7:40pm. Is that enough to clear customs and transfer to an 8:55pm flight?

No, that would not be possible.

Thanks. I was thinking it won't be enough time, but hoping it would work.

Arriving 08:01 in Terminal 1 from Philadelphia. Departure 09:07 to Edmonton from Terminal 2. Is that enough time to connect for this international flight?

Yes that is enough time. A walkway connects T1 and T2 inside security.

Hello, we are arriving from Paris on April 29th at 5.40 pm at Terminal 5 and must take a flight Skywest:United from Terminal 2. How long will it take? Any itinerary to do so quickly as we have no checked bags (only hand luggage) any photos to show the way? thank you so much dppoun@gmail.com

With no checked baggage you can use the one stop lane to clear immigration and customs. I still recommend 2 hrs for your connection.
