arriving from Omaha on United flight, next United flight to Newark 50 minutes later. Do the flights arrive and depart at the same terminal or do I need to change terminals

At ORD, United uses both Terminals 1 & 2 for domestic flights - look at your ticket to find your gate number: Terminal 1 has B & C gates; Terminal 2 has E & F gates. In case you need to get from terminal to terminal, use the free ATS shuttle train (follow signs). You have enough time for transfer.

Where is ORD's Westjet check-in in terminal 3?

Check-in counters at ORD, Terminal 3, are on the Upper Level leading to Concourse L to the left, the Y-shaped gateway to Concourses K & H in the center and to the Rotunda (leading to T2) and Concourse G to the left.

what help is there for wheelchair passengers?

It is suggested that you contact your airline 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure that you will need a wheelchair. Also note that travelers with disabilities or medical conditions - or their families or caregivers - can get answers regarding TSA security checkpoint procedures by calling 1-855-787-2227 or by visiting tsa.gov.

Arriving Term 1 gate C5 on Sunday, Leaving 60 minutes later from Term 2 gate F5. Do I have sufficient time??

At ORD, you have two choices to get from T1 to T2: you can walk from C gates, passing B gates and taking connector to F gates; or you can take the pedestrian tunnel connecting both terminals, in which case you need to go through security again. Either way you have enough time.

I land ORD at 5:05 and flight overseas departs at 6, enough time?

Note that at ORD domestic terminals 1, 2 & 3 are connected at their gates, so you can walk to your connecting gate; however, if you depart from T5 you would need to take the ATS train, running every few mins.. Signs will guide you.

Leaving Milwuakee via American and on way to Heathrow via American. Gates?

    1. At ORD you would arrive at Terminal 3, and depart from either the same terminal or Terminal 5. Terminal 3 has Concourses G, H, K & L with corresponding gates: Concourse G has gates G1A-G21, and on the lower level gates G13-G17. Concourse H has gates H1-H18, with a Rebooking Center near gate H7. Between Concourses H & K is the Admirals Club. Concourse K with gates K1-K20. Concourse L has gates L1-L10. The ATS shuttle train runs every few minutes between Terminal 3 and 5 (which has Concourse M with M gates. and takes about 25 mins. Look at your ticket and on arrival at the overhead screen to find your connecting gate and time.

  • T5 to T3 in 1h15min

I am flying in to ORD from Delhi by AI 127 at 1015 (T5) and need to catch AA flight at 1130 from T3. Is that doable? Provided that I check in my luggage and get the boarding pass from T5.

    1. Check first if Alitalia is willing to transfer bags to the American Airlines connecting flight - if not, you need to take your bag after customs control and check it in with T5 - taking extra time. 2. As an international arrival you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). 3. thereafter, proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System and take the ATS train shuttle, running every few minutes, connecting to Terminal 3. If your arrival is on time and customs procedures will not take more than 50 mins, you will arrive at your connecting gate just fine. Note that Terminal 3 has Concourses G, H, K & L - all with corresponding gates (i.e., H1) - On arrival make sure you scan the overhead screens for your departure gate and time.

  • AA Check In at T5
    Jun 15, 2012

From the terminal information (maps, etc.) it is said that AA has only international arrivals at T5 of ORD. We are arrvg at T5 of ORD by AI 127 arr at 10:15 am and have to transit to T3 for AA flt 4089 dep at 1:35 pm. Considering that AI does not transfer baggage further at T5 would AA check in and collect baggage for the above flt at T5. Or we have to move to T3 with all baggage and check in at AA counters in T3 only. If so, what are the best transit options - train, taxi, bus, etc. We are two passengers are will have 4 check in baggage.

While shuttle trains take you from T5 to T3, I doubt that you would be able to take the bags onto the train. My suggestion is that you contact ORD at aviation@flychicago.com. Note also that volunteers in red T-shirts make their round in the terminals to assist passengers. To get information on customs clearance, and terminal layouts & connections, open www.ifly.com/ord & click on "Terminal Map" under "QUICK LINKS".

Dtr arrives from Munich T5 at 1820 and needs to get to T1 or 2 for Mnpls by 1945. Is this enough time? Does she need to go to baggage get her luggage, go to custums,go to check in again, then find T1/2 on the train to her gate and will this be enough time?

As an international arrival at ORD she needs to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). This can take 40-50 mins. After exiting the Federal Inspection and luggage re-check areas, she needs to proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System where she can easily connect via ATS train to either terminals 1 or 2. The overhead screens will indicate her flight number and gate.

  • T5 - T3 with customs in 1hr and 45 min.

Is it possible to arrive in T5, go though customs, get baggage, etc, and make my flight in T3 in 1 hour and 45 min?

I forgot to mention I land around 5pm and next flight leaves at 6:45pm

my wife is travelling from SF to chicago (EY 3184 operated by American Airlines) reaching chicago by 19:00 hrs on T3.Connecting flight to Abudhabi is at 20:30. on T5 .Will this time sufficient for security check, immigration, luggage checkin ?

    1. Only international arrivals need to go through immigration/ customs clearance procedure. 2. On arrival at ORD, Terminal 3, she will need to look at the signs for the ATS shuttle train, which runs continuously between all terminals and will take at most 20 mins, including waiting time. At Terminal 5 she needs to go through security check before moving on to the departure level, which wraps around the concessions court: to the right are gates M12-21; left M7-M1, and extends northward in center to gates M8-11 - these could be long walks, but she has enough time.

am i allowed to take my 2 bags in a trolly into the train from termainal 3 to terminal 5. and if i arrive at 8:20 my departure will be at 11:15 ( 2h) is it enough time

For safety reasons, it is highly unlikely that you are allowed to bring a baggage trolley at ORD onboard the ATS train shuttle. To make sure contact ORD at aviation@flychicago.com or tel. (773) 686 3700. As T5 is separate from the other domestic terminals, your only choice would be to take a taxi from T3 over to T5.

If I am arriving on a domestic United flight and have a 4 hour layover before my next domestic flight, can I access the Worldwide VIP lounge in Terminal 5 without going through customs? I have Lounge Card that lists this lounge as one I can use.

It is best to contact ORD at aviation@flychicago.com or tel. (773) 686 3700. Worldwide VIP lounge in T5 is located between gates M7 & M14. The ATS shuttle train will take you from domestic to international T5 terminal.
