I am flying Syracuse to ORD to Vienna. Combined ticket purchased from United, with the international flight on Austrian Airlines. I arrive ORD at 3:10pm and depart at 4:30pm. All carry-on baggage. I presume I will need to take the terminal train to T5. Do you know what terminal I will arrive at? Will I have to go through security again before entering T5? Do you think security will be especially long at this time of day? I know this is a tight connection, but I am prepared to jog if I need to! Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

You will likely arrive in Terminal 2. Yes, you will have to go through security again in T5. You should have enough time.

I'm flying from Atlanta to Chicago (arriving in terminal 1) and then from Chicago to London, Ontario (leaving terminal 2). I only have one hour in between. I don't expect any weather issues ... Is this enough time? Will we have enough to collect luggage? Or can we check in Atlanta and pick up in London, Ontario? I think we go through customs when we get to London, ontario....any insight would be good! Thanks.

You will not have to do anything with your luggage in Chicago. You will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs when you get to London. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

I am flying united from dhl to ord then ord to gso. I have a 42 min layover. Will I make it?

Do you mean DLH (Duluth)? If so that should be enough time. Both gates will likely be in Terminal 2 and all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I am planning to fly Aer Lingus Dub to Chicago Ord connecting to Seattle with United Airlines. Will I have to change terminals? If so, is 2hrs sufficient time. Thankyou.

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 5 and take the ATS Train to Terminal 1 and go through security. You should have enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin.

I am flying AA and concerned with the time I land to the time I depart again. I land at ORD at 6:19 am and depart for LAS at 7:07. I know that is not much time in between and I'm not familiar with ORD and wondering if anyone had any idea if it would be at the same gates or where I may need to head.

Where are you flying into ORD from?

    CMH

all you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will arrive in concourse G or L (likely G) and depart from concourse H or K. They are all connected inside security.

Thank you so much! That relieves a lot of anxiety!

Hi, I have a flight from Munich (MUC airport) to Minneapolis (MSP) and there is a transite at ORD. Will I need to go through Customs and get my bags at ORD then check them in again to go to MSP? The whole journey is one ticket purchase.

Yes, you will arrive in T5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to your departure terminal and go through security.

I really appreciate your feedback. Is 4.5 hours enough?

Yes, that is plenty of time.

Hi! Next July I will be traveling from Las Vegas to Madrid with a 54 minutes transfer at ORD. I think the arrival and departure is from Terminal 3, so if the plane is on time it should be enough time for the transfer right? Thank you in advance!

Yes, you just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate both on the H/K concourse of Terminal 3. You have enough time if your flight from Las Vegas is on-time.

Hi, we are traveling with ANA NH 12, transfer in ORD to MCO via United Airlines (tickets purchased together). ETA at ORD is 0820hrs and ETD is 1040hrs. (1) Do we need to claim the checked in luggages and recheck in again? (2) Do we have sufficient time? Thanks!

Yes, you will arrive in T5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to T1, go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

Thanks for the reply! Btw, is it the same procedure if we are to transfer at ORD from MCO to Japan? It is for going back time.

I have a 1.05hr connection, from Vancouver to Charlotte (US customs done in Canada) and no checked bags, both United Airlines flights but different terminals (5 and 2) is this enough time? Is it a complicated connection?

You will not arrive in Terminal 5. You will arrive in Terminal 1 and depart from Terminal 1 or 2. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

Ah, I must have got confused. Thank you for your reassurance !

Have 50 min connection from Ottawa via Ohare.will that be enough time with UA to UA

Yes, that should be enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Ottawa. All United and United Express gates are connected inside security.

Do I have enough time with 1 hour layover from Canada, going to Mexico. I arrive at terminal 1 and depart from terminal 1 within 1 hour. thanks!

Assuming you aren't coming from London, ON or Quebec City, that should be enough time as you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in your Canadian origin city.

I have flight on United airline from viet nam to Jacksonville.i stop at Hong Kong to change plane and have 3,5hours to stop at O'hear airport to change plane.how can I go from terminal 5 to terminal 1.and I must bring all check bag with me,mustn't I? And where I can get boarding card and do I need to pay any fee more.this is the first time I go like that so I am very worry .pls help me.

I want to explain more.I have 2 checked bags and 1 carry on.it is on the same United airline and the same booking ref.will I take all my bags to move with me from terminal 5 to terminal 1 and get boarding card to move to Jacksonville?can I have a cart to use from terminal 5 to terminal 1 on the train.will I pay for the cart?

Your bags should be tagged to JAX in Vietnam. You can re-check them at the re-check desk immediately after clearing customs in Terminal 5. You will then take the ATS Train to Terminal 1 and go through security. They should be able to issue all your boarding passes in Vietnam.

Thank you so much for your help.and do you think I will have enough time 3,5hours to change the plane here. How can I get the train to move pls.

The train is two levels up from where you will clear customs and re-check your bags. Follow signs for a big "1" in a square.

Hello, I have a my UA flight arriving at 2:46 and need to connect to another UA flight at 3:55. Leaving me with a 1 hour and 9 minute layover. I will have one checked bag and one carry on. Do you think this will be enough time?

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Will I have to pass through customs at all? Or will I be going through that on my first flight?

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs when you arrive in Vancouver.

I am flying through Ohare today. Flight Sri es at 4:20. Terminal 2. I have an international flight departing at 6:00 terminal 1. My bags are not checked through so I must claim them and check them for the flight to Berlin. Can I check my bags in terminal 2? Any advice?

Departing XNA…I'm arriving on United to ORD…departing on Lufthansa to FRA…do I have to recheck my check in bag at ORD? Do I have to clear customs on departure from ORD to FRA? My itenery says arrive Terminal 2 at ORD…depart Terminal 1 to FRA…How long does it take to get from one to the other?

You don't have to do anything with your bags and there is no US Customs when exiting the US. Terminal 2 and Terminal 1 are connected inside security by a walkway. It will take less than 15 minutes to get between your gates. There is also a chance your flight from XNA will even arrive in Terminal 1.

    Thank you

We will be traveling from Madrid, Spain, to Toronto via Chicago next July. Our IB 6275 flight arrives in ORD T5 by 02:00 PM, and our UA 843 flight leaves T1 by 05:30 PM. We have checked bags, and the flights are on different reservations. Is this enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time. Note that you will take your bags with you on the ATS Train to T1 to re-check them with United and will have to pay a checked bag fee.

    Thank you!!
