  • ORD B22A TO C16

I have 1 hr connection from B22A to C16 in ORD. 2 kids with 1 stroller. do I have to wait in the line to pass the security gate? is there any tunnel connecting the 2 terminals? thanks.

At ORD, Terminal 1 has Concourse B with gates B1-22 and Concourse C with gates C1-32 - both Concourses are connected at their center by a walkway. No need to go through security check.

I have a 45 minute connection coming in Terminal 1 going out Terminal 2. I can see by the map I could likely walk it easily between concourse B and terminal 2, but is there a shortcut from concourse C, if my plane comes in there?

There is a bus that goes from a spot near around gate C9 to gate E-2 in Terminal 2. I've never taken it and it probably won't save you any time. But if you have a little time and don't like walking, you can try it.

I am going from Los Angeles thru O'hare to Charleston W.V on March 4th.What terminal do I land at(fl 263) and where do I pick up the connecting flight(6093) to W.V. seeing that I will have very little time?

At ORD, you will arrive / depart from either of the domestic terminals T1 (with B & C gates),T2 (with E & F gates) or T3 with G, H, K & L gates. Your ticket and the overhead screens on arrival will indicate flight and gate number. The ATS shuttle train runs every few minutes between the terminals, but in the unsecured area (at connecting terminal you would need to go through security before proceeding to your gate.

Since United Express is the only airline that flies to Charleston WV from Chicago, you are flying them. Your flight from LAX will arrive in Terminal 1 and your flight to Charleston will depart from terminal 1 or 2 (probably 2). Worst case scenario is about a 15 minute walk between your gates if you move briskly. You will not have to go through security again.

Group of college students coming in from Heathrow on United connecting to domestic United flight out of Terminal 1. They have just over 90 minutes. Will that be enough time to go through customs, recheck their bags, and get to their Gate in Terminal 1? Terminal 5 Gate M16A > Terminal 1 Gate C24

If their first flight is on time and they hurry, it's barely enough time. Customs can take anywhere between 10-30 mins. The transfer can take about 20 minutes between terminals, so that leaves 40-50 mins to go through security and get to their gate. Usually that's doable, but again, a little tight.

On arrival at ORD and passing through passport check, picking up bags, go through customs clearance and re-check-in bags where indicated, (that can take anywhere from 30-50 mins!) you need to proceed oe level up the ATS train connecting to the domestic terminals 1, 2 & 3 (running every few mins). At T1, pass security check & then head for Concourse C (gates C1-32). Your time is sufficient.

I have a very tight connection and need to get from B1 to C2. What's the best way to do this? Walking? Is it a tunnel? Or some other way. Thank you!

The only way to do it is to walk through the tunnel connecting B&C. It has moving walkways and neat lighting. It's a 10 minute walk if you move briskly.

    Thanks, ZAP!

  • Terminal 1 to Terminal 5

Hi, just want to know how much time ATS take from Terminal 1 to Terminal 5.

Actual time on the train is about 10 minutes, maybe less. Total time walking from exit of security in T1 and entrance to security in T5 is more like 20-25 mins.

I'm taking Blue line to reach at Terminal 1 then wanted to go to Terminal 5 so I should not think about security check. Correct?

If you're just going from the Blue Line then it's faster to go to the ATS station in Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 than the one in Terminal 1 in order to take the ATS to Terminal 5. (terminal 2 is a little shorter walk, little longer ride, terminal 3 is a longer walk, shorter ride, T1 is both a longer walk and longer ride than either).

  • Where to meet parents at Terminal 5
    Jan 23, 2013

My parents are coming in AI127 at 6:30 AM to terminal 5 with luggage. I want to meet them and take them with me to American Airlines flight in terminal 3 at 8:55 AM. 1. Please tell me is the layover time sufficient? 2. Where can I ask my parents to meet me? (fyi, they are non-english speakers). 3. After customs, can they check in their luggage with American Airlines at terminal 5? If so which floor? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, that is sufficient time.. Best place to meet them would probably be the exit of immigration in Terminal 5 on the lower level.

Thank you very much for quick response. Can you please clarify -- After customs, can they check in their luggage with American Airlines at terminal 5? If so which floor?

If their bags are already tagged to their final destination they can drop them with AA at the recheck on the lower level of T5 just after they exit immigration. If they are only tagged to ORD they will have to bring them to T3 and check them there on the ticketing level.

arriving from Ottawa on American Airlines term 3 to term 5 - how do I get there, what is the proceedure and is 75 minutes enough time, connecting flight to Cancun on Americal Airlines

Are you sure you depart from Terminal 5 - my information says American Eagle uses Terminal 3 ; American Airlines uses T3 for all domestic flights & international departures (and T5 for international arrivals). The ATS shuttle train runs every few minutes between Terminal 5, at ATS level, and domestic terminals 1, 2 & 3. Either way you have enough time. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ord then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.

Both of your flights will be in Terminal 3 on the outbound trip to Cancun. On the return, then you'll have to transfer from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 using the ATS.

  • 1 hr connection time - enough?

We will be arriving on American Eagle flight from Madison, WI with 1 hr connection to American flight to London Heathrow. I've been tracking these flights and they both are in Terminal 3. Will we have enough time to make this flight? I'm assuming we don't have to go thru security like other international flights leaving terminal 5.

American Eagle uses Terminal 3 ; American Airlines uses T3 for all domestic flights & international departures (and T5 for international arrivals). You arrive at and depart from T3. Your bags will automatically be transferred to your departing flight. On arrival follow signs to your connecting Concourse & gate: G1A-G21 or G13-G15 (on lower level); H1-H18; K1-K20 or L1-L10. Your boarding pass and the overhead screens will indicate flight & gate numbers. You have sufficient time.

1 Hour is enough time to make the connection as it's a very simple one all within Terminal 3.

  • park to meet someone at terminal 2

Where should I park to meet my handicapped father when he comes into Terminal 2

At ORD park in the Main Parking Garage (Lot A) - hourly parking under 3 hrs are on level 1. If your father did not order wheelchair assistance on arrival at ORD, I suggest you go to the airline counter (your father arrives with) and request a 'non-flying boarding pass' and wheelchair, so you can meet your father at the gate.

I need to meet someone who will be driving up to the airport, and would like to not have to walk far. I have scheduled a wheel chair because I am handicapped but where do they meet me when they come?

Best place to meet is near the information counter in the arrivals area. You can park in the Gargage (Lot A) on level 1 (hourly parking). Or you could use the free Cell Phone Lot located at Economy Parking Lot F. (Exit I-190 at North Mannheim Road and follow the signs to Economy Parking F/Cell Phone Lot). Stay with your car until your party has arrived, collected luggage and calls you to be picked up at the curb.

If you are traveling to London, Ontario, Canada where do you go through Customs? In London, Ontario or before you leave the US?

At ORD, departing passengers do not go through customs.

Yes, the YXU-ORD flights arrive in Terminal 5 (the international terminal) where you clear customs. YXU does not have US immigration preclearance as many larger Canadian airports do.

On flights from Chicago to YXU, you will depart from Terminal 2 (check in in Terminal 1) and go through Canadian customs in London, Ontario.

    is this enough time

That depends on which terminal you arrive at, if you are an international arrival, and which terminal you depart from (depending on airlines) I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ord, click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS, and scroll down beyond the map to the detailed text. International arrivals need at least 35-50 mins for customs clearance, etc.

  • Terminal 2 to Terminal 1, 55 min layover

Hello, I was hoping to get any advice about my 55 minute layover between a flight arriving from Canada into terminal 2, and then an international departure (to Paris) 55 minutes later from terminal 1. Is this enough time? And what is the quickest (and easiest!) way to get there? Thank you!

I presume you are going through US customs clearance in Canada. If you use two different airlines, make sure the one departing from Canada transfers your bags to your Paris connection. If not, you need to pick up your bag and re-check it in with your next airline. On arrival, look for the ATS train sign connecting all terminals. The rain runs every few mins. You have enough time.

You do not have to take the ATS from terminal 2 to Terminal 1. Just follow the signs and walk. It takes like 10 minutes at most.
