How do I get from teminal 3 domestic to terminal 1 international?

Terminal 3 is the international terminal (with M gates) Terminal 1 is a domestic terminal with B & C gates. 1. International Arrivals: Unless you have gone through US customs clearance by participating airports in Canada or the Caribbean, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes), then proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System (ATS) station and take the train to your connecting terminal. 2.Passengers transferring from O'Hare's International Terminal to any of the Domestic Terminals: After exiting the Federal Inspection and luggage re-check areas, proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System where you can easily connect to either terminals 1, 2 or 3 for domestic flights. A free shuttle train running every few minutes can take you there. 3. The ATS shuttle train runs every few minutes between Terminal 5's ATS level the and domestic terminals 1, 2 & 3.

How long will it take to get from G concourse in Terminal 3 to Terminal 5? Do we have to go through security again? We are traveling with a group of 15, mostly senior citizens.

At ORD, on Arrival at Concourse G, walk towards the Rotunda and look for the ATS shuttle train sign, which runs every few minutes to Terminal 5. Note that Concourse M of T5 wraps around the concessions Court - to the left (gates M12-M21) and to the right (gates M7-M1), and extends northward in the center to gates M8-M11 (prepare yourself for long walks from check-in to gates).

I have 45 minutes between flights to go from F5 to C8, is that adequate time?

At ORD getting from T2 to T1: Note that all gate areas of all terminals are not connected, but the secured area, which is the upper level (Departures) has, right after you walk from gate F8 past gate F1, at right end a connector to Terminal 1, where you will arrive again in the secured area, and where you should proceed to nearby gate B6, walk past gate B8 (at right), take walkway to C gates.

I have approximately 40-45 minutes from arriving on United in Terminal 1 to Departing on American in Terminal 3. Carry-on luggage only. I can move OK walking/sprinting. The big question...do I have to go through security at Terminal 3. Can I reasonably expect to make my connection?

At ORD on arrival at T1 follow the ATS train signs. The train runs every few mins, but may arrive/depart from the unsecured areas of the terminals, meaning that you would have to go through security check at T3. T3's gates: Concourse G has gates G1A-G21, and on the lower level gates G13-G15. Concourse H has gates H1-H18, Concourse K has gates K1-K17; Concourse L has gates L1-L10 (for Virgin America, Spirit, JetBlue, Air Choice One and American airlines) NO TIME TO WASTE!

fraug12. Thanks, I continued to research posts with similar situations such as mine. Using the ATS apparently means going through the TSA lines. I checked the layout of the terminals after seeing some posts indicating that I can travel from T-1 to T-3 while staying in the secured area. No TSA stuff. Anybody done this. If I run like the wind, can I get from T-1 to T-3, passing through T-2 in twenty minutes to a half hour? Thanks again fraug12

If I am arriving at B7 and need to get to F2 in under 40 minutes can I make it? I am traveling with a 4 year old.

At ORD, T1 connects at the Departures level - left end - to T2. No time to waste! signs will guide you to your gate area.

If I'm arriving on an international flight at 2:15pm, is it possible to get to terminal T2 for a 3:38pm flight. I realize I need to pick up my bag, go thru customs and arrive at other terminal. How much time should I allow between international flights and local USA flight?

Your gate-to-gate time at ORD is adequate - after customs clearance proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System (ATS) station and take the train to your connecting terminal.

I am flying into into ORD on American Airlines then taking a connecting flight on United airlines. I have about an hour layover. How am I going to get from one terminal to another?

I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ord for detailed information, click on "Terminal Map" and scroll down to the text below the map. NOTE: If American does not transfer your checked bags to United, you need to claim them on arrival and take them along to the connecting terminal, check them in with United and then continue to your gate.

I am flying from CVG to LHR and have 55 mins to get from gate G11 to K7. Is this enough time? Will I have to go through security? I see a security checkpoint on terminal 3 map between the concourses.

On arrival at ORD, you have plenty of time for transfer - no need to go through security - just follow signs. Concourse K is to the left of Concourse G (However, if you use two airlines and your first airline does not transfer your bags to the connecting flight, you would need to claim your bags first, then re-check them in with your connecting airline and then go through security check and on to your gate.

Thank you for the info. I am flying with BA using AA as their partner. So I am hoping they transfer my bags.

If you arrive on domestic flight in terminal 3 and depart on international flight terminal 5, do you get your luggage and pass through security again to reboard international flight?

If you use two different airlines, you need to find out if your first one transfers bags to your connecting flight - if not, you need t pick up your bag, take it with you to T5 and check it in there before proceeding to your gate. Take the ATS train to T5 where it arrives at the upper-level roadway. You need to enter T5 and go through security check before proceeding to gate. T5's Concourse M wraps around the concessions Court; to the left (gates M12-M21) and to the right (gates M7-M1), and extends northward in the center to gates M8-M11 (prepare yourself for long walks from check-in to gates).

How do you get from terminal 3 to terminal 5, walk or is there a people mover?

At ORD, in addition, the Pedestrian Tunnel Level connects with the other terminals

Can you tell me where gate FD2 is?

There is no gate FD2 - most likely they told you FT2 - which would mean Terminal 2, Concourse and gates F - which are used by Air Canada, Delta, United, US Airways. The F gates are F1 - F14, with gates F11A, B & C on the lower level of Concourse F.

What restaurants are available in Terminal 1 before going through security? I need to meet a friend when I have a long layover. Thanks.

I suggest you open http://www.ifly.com/chicago-ohare-international-airport/ORD-Terminal-1 and scroll down beyond the terminal map, then zero in on establishments not situated at the gate areas.

I have to pick up friend from Air Canada flight I have dorections to get to the airport, but can't locate anything that tells me how to get to Terminal 2 baggage claim. Does anyone know where I might be able to get this? Also is there any short term parking for pick ups and how much is it? Thanks in advance

You have two options: 1. Use the free Cell Phone Lot located at Economy Parking Lot F. (Exit I-190 at North Mannheim Road and follow the signs to Economy Parking F/Cell Phone Lot). Stay with your car until your party has arrived, collected luggage and calls you to be picked up at the curb. 2. Use the Main Parking Garage and its surrounding Lots A & B are behind the Hilton Hotel, which in turn faces Terminal 2. Then walk over to Terminal 2 and meet him in the Arrivals Hall, near the information counter. You can only use the curbside for immediate pickup. (Tune in to 1630 AM within 2.5 mles of O'Hare for current space availability, fees and more).
