Can I make a 53 minute connection from a domestic flight to ORD (through DLH) to an international fligth to AUA (Aruba)?
Yes, if both flights are on United then you just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
are domestic and international United gates close together?
Sort of. You will probably arrive in Terminal 2. You will depart from Terminal 1 but they are connected inside security by a walkway. It shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
United Airlines has moved up my flight time, leaving us 1 hr 20 min layover on a Monday evening to get off our UA flight and over to Aer Lingus, I see they dont participate in TSA precheck, is this enough time, any tips?
Just hurry to the ATS Train to Terminal 5. That's all you can do.
but its doable? and will aer lingus know we are coming?
Aer Lingus should know you are coming. It is possible if the flight from Kansas City is on-time.
I set up a quick business meeting at ORD with some colleagues. Each one of us is flying a diff airline (united T1, American T3, DeltaT2). We are planning to meet before we all return back later that afternoon. Can we do this without exiting security?
Yes, T1, T2, and T3 are all connected inside security by walkways.
I am booked with AA and one in Chicago (from Phoenix) at 1615 and am supposed to fly to Rome at 1650. Of course I'm worried I won't make this as I have never been in the Chicago airport. AA insists this is reasonable transfer. Thoughts?!
Both flights will be on the H/K concourse of Terminal 3. You have just enough time if the flight from Phoenix is on-time.
I have a flight from Orlando to Chicago O'Hare and from there to Japan. Is one hour enough to catch my connection in Chicago to take the flight to japan
If both flights are on the same reservation then you should have enough time. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
An hour and half layover is all I have between a Turkish Airlines flight (arrive 6:50 pm and American Airlines (depart 8:20 pm). I know about having to go from the international terminal to domestic. I will only have a carry on bag. I will also have my Mobile Passport ap. Seems like the lines have been going much quicker with all the automation these days. Enough time?
It is just enough time if everything goes smoothly and you check in online for your American flight before leaving Turkey.
Yep, I had also thought of checking in on American. I will do that in the morning before I leave Tel Aviv for Istanbul. I will have my boarding pass on my phone so that should help. Thanks for the reply!
My sister is arriving with Lufthansa to O'Hare from Munich on Feb, 3rd; she has connecting flight from O'Hare to St. Louis. She's not American citizen and doesn't speak English so I'm trying to give her as much info as possible. Once she arrives to O'Hare is she going to have to collect her baggage and again check in on terminal 1? All flights are on the same reservation. Thank you!
She will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim her bags, go through US Customs, re-check her bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to Terminal 1 or 2 and go through security. She should get off in Terminal 2 if her departure gate starts with E or F and Terminal 1 if it starts with B or C.
If I fly into ORD from SJU with a 54 minute layover to DCA, will I have enough time? It's one reservation with United.
Yes, that is enough time. You just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Chicago.
We will be flying on Turkish Airlines from Istanbul to ORD and then on American to Phoenix. The flights are on separate tickets. The layover time in ORD is 2 and a half hours. Is that enough time to collect our checked bags, clear customs and recheck our bags?
It's barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Thank you ZAP. We do both have Global Entry is that makes any difference.
That will help. Make sure your KTN is in your AA reservation so you can get Pre-check security in Terminal 3.
I purchased separate tickets for a trip from Dayton to ORD then ORD to Amsterdam from United and KLM respectively (saving $400 doing it that way). Flight to Amsterdam will leave at 16:00 but I just got a notice from United that they've changed their schedule so the flight from Dayton arrives in ORD at 14:00 instead of the original 13:25. I believe this is going from Terminal 1 to 5. I will only have carry-on luggage with me and assume the online check-in will give me the boarding tickets I need. Do you think on average 2 hours is enough, or should I reschedule with United for a 10:00 morning arrival in ORD. Thanks!
Yes, 2 hours is enough time with no checked bags.
