Concerned about aconnecting flight at Chicago O'hare. We have 35 minutes between connecting flights. Is that enough time?
Where are you flying from and to? What airlines?
I already purchased ticket for ANA ORD-NRT. I am thinking about purchasing a ticket from UA: FWA-ORD. 55 min. connecting at ORD would be enough time? I believe I don't have to recheck luggage since UA and ANA are star alliance. Is this correct?? Thank you!
The United Express agent in Fort Wayne may not know how to check your bags through to ANA and would not be able to issue your ANA boarding pass if it can't be issued online if you purchase two separate reservations. I suggest flying into ORD earlier or driving or taking a bus to Chicago before your flight.
I appreciate your quick response! Thank you very much!!
We are traveling from Vancouver to London via ORD, all with United.
We have 1 hour to make our connection in ORD:
- is this enough time
- will our check in baggage follow us automatically or will we have to collect and re check in our bags?
You will go through US Preclearance in Vancouver. Therefore, you will not have to pick up or recheck any bags in Chicago. You will simply walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. It is not a difficult connection.
Looking at a flight with connection time of 50 minutes. Both legs are with American Airlines. Are all American Airlines in the same terminal? This seems tight to me
This is doable, as long as your flight arriving in Chicago is domestic. All American gates are housed in Concourses G, H, K, and sometimes L. They are all in the same terminal and in relatively short walking distance. You can make that flight.
Hope your arriving flight is not delayed otherwise it will be a tight connection.
I am travelling from Heathrow to Chicago and land in terminal 5,the next flight is in terminal 1 to Orlando with a connection time of 1 hour 15 minutes. both flights are with United, will I have enough time to make the connecting flight? How long does it take to travel between terminal 5 and 1?
That is not enough time. The minimum International to Domestic connection time in Chicago is 90 minutes, and I recommend at least 2 hours. You need to contact whoever you booked that ticket through and change it.
Hi there,
I am flying from Seattle to Toronto with a stop in ORD. I have 1 hr 17 mins to make this connection and all flights are with AA. Will this be enough time for my connection, will I have to claim my bags and go through customers or security again? Any help would be great! Thank you!
You don't go through customs and immigration when departing the US. You will simply walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
Perfect, thank you so much!
I'm flying from Sfo to Yyz with 45 min layover in ORD
Flying with United and AC. Is 45 min enough?
That is enough time if your flight from SFO is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
50 minutes between flights on the same AA ticket from SLC to JFK. does AA allow for connection. is it same terminal
You will arrive and depart from Concourse H or K. You will make the connection as long as your flight from Salt Lake lands on time.
United just changed my reservation that now gives me a 90 minute layover on a flight from Vancouver, BC to ORD, connecting to Norfolk, VA. Is 90 minutes sufficient time to clear customs and make the connecting flight?
You will go through US pre clearance in Vancouver, meaning that you will only have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Chicago. You have more than enough time.
Thanks so much Andy, really appreciate your quick response and outstanding support!
Hi - a friend is flying from Copenhagen -> Chicago -> Sacramento.

At Ohare Chicago he has to travel from Terminal 5 (international terminal) to Terminal 1.

change the terminal (I think it is from 5 to 1). He has in total 2 hours.

Question - does he have to do immigration in Chicago? how much time approximately it takes to change the terminal and what is the best way of doing it, bus or train or taxi?

Yes in Chicago he will go through US Immigration, claim his bags, go through US customs, re-check his bags at the recheck desk then take the ATS train to Terminal 1 then go through security and to the departure gate. He has just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
