I'm flying from SNA to Rome via ORD. I have 1:45 in Chicago. United says that is enough time and arriving and departure flights are both in Terminal 1. Is the process retrieve bags, go through immigration, them customs, recheck bag and then go to gate?
There is no US Customs or Immigration when leaving the US. You don't have to do anything with your bags in Chicago on your way to Rome. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
Wow - thank you. Assume we will just show our passports to the agent when we check in? THANK YOU for the prompt reply!!!
Yes, you will show your passports to the agent in SNA when you check in and the gate agent in ORD when you board your flight.
Hello all. I'll be arriving at ORD Terminal 5 around 6 pm and have to catch a flight to Alaska at 7:55 pm. I have to go to Terminal 3. Should that be enough time for all the immigration and check-in? I'm a US citizen by the way. Also, I read somewhere that there are check-in desks for domestic flights at Terminal 5 after the customs. Is that true? Thank you
If these are both on the same reservation, yes, you can re-check your bags in Terminal 5 after you clear customs and then take the ATS To Terminal 3 and go through security. You have just enough time. If it's two separate reservations this is practically impossible.
Thank you. They are seperate reservations. I'm flying in with Turkish Airlines and fly out with Alaska.
Traveling from DIA on United to ORD, then leaving ORD for Dublin. Layover in ORD is 2 hrs. 16 min. Do I walk between terminals? Or a bus? Do I do security again at terminal 5. Checking bag through from DIA to Dublin but will have carry-on.
You take the ATS Train to Terminal 5. yes, you will have to go through security again in Terminal 5. You should have enough time if the flight from Denver is on-time.
We've booked a flight from Denver to Dublin with a 2h40m layover in Chicago. Looks like we land in terminal 1 and depart from terminal 5. Should this be enough time to make our flight assuming the first flight is on time? It's United to Chicago and Aer Lingus to Dublin, all under the same reservation.
Yes, that should be enough time. You will have to take the ATS Train to Terminal 5 and go through security.
I have a flight delay and need to get from terminal 1 to terminal 5 in an hour and 15 minutes to go to Sweden on SAS. Is that doable and any tips to faster? Will I have to security again?
Yes, you have to go through security again in Terminal 5. I hope you made it.
Thank you! I ended up only having 30 minutes! And... I made it!! #ninjawarrior :) I was a C1! (I cried in joy and exhaustion when I got to my gate and as a tip I also was on the phone with the airline and had them call the gate to let them know I was coming! :)
Hi my flight (ANA operated by United) arrives at Terminal 1 with 1hr22min layover til my next flight to NRT (also on ANA) also in Terminal 1. Would I have enough time? I'm worry I'll miss my flight as I usually go with non-stop flights.
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I have flight arriving term c from kc and catching aer lingus to Dublin the layover is an hour 5 min, is that long enough?
Your title says 1h45m, but your comment says 1h5m. That's a big difference. Also, are they booked on the same reservation? No matter what, you will take the ATS train to the International Terminal for your flight to Dublin. 1h5m is not enough no matter what. 1h45m should be enough if they are booked on one reservation, which means that United would check your bags all the way through to Ireland.
yes, I meant 1 hour 45 min. lol, typo. It is the same reservation .
Yes, that is long enough. If you are on United you will arrive in Terminal 1 or 2, There is no Terminal C. You depart from Terminal 5.
thank you, I remember a very long security line the last time, and I wasnt sure how long it took us to get thru. Debating the prescreen that you can pay for. Thanks again
PreCheck won't help you in Terminal 5 as they don't have a Precheck line there as none of the airlines in Terminal 5 are Precheck participants.
